I love how engaged Stephen is when the movies are some of his favorite books , like Dune or LOTR he’s just so happy like a kid . Elvis was really well done .. this kid has a big future for sure .
You mean when he's not shilling for big pharma?
heres a sneak [eeek
I said the same thing Austin is a star he id definitely going places much success to him!
Austin has such positive energy. Humble, dedicated, talented and, gosh, so hard-working. So happy for him
I hope he remains humble, and void of ego, no matter how big he gets. I like that he still acts unknown in his desire ot connect with everyone. So, well mannered. Dont ever change Austin!!!
I loved the first part of Dune. It really needed to be split into parts to do it justice. Can't wait for part 2!
Several people who've worked with Austin Butler have been quoted saying he is the most beautiful person they've ever seen. He also seems to have several other positive attributes, but that first thing is hard to get past, huh? It's kinda ridiculous how good looking he is 😅
He is not good looking.
Yeah, he ain't it.
I get that beauty is subjective, but I don't know what substances these other commenters are on, because if you can't at least recognise or admit that he's good-looking, then I don't know who is 🤯
@@jboudie It's like that meme 'elbows too pointy'. He's 6' tall, has good skin, good hair, and pleasant features. You could nit-pick and find flaws, but he's clearly good looking.
You all are nuts! He is super handsome and seems like a very nice person. Jealous people!
He is a true movie star. Not many of them around. Charisma!
Keep your eyes on this one. As long as he takes time for his hobbies and sheds the stress of each role afterward, he will be in for the long ride. Playing one of the rock and roll kings could have flipped his mind on its side but he knew how to take cues from his seniors and focus on something simple. Watch this hot boy burn a trail.
I think he is going to have a very long and successful career in showbusiness I hope he decides to direct one day I would love to see what he creates on the other side of the camera
This guy has such an amazing personality. He's not flashy or in your face, he doesn't have any false Holywood charm . He's just kind, thoughtful and unassuming. The vulnerability Butler displays is deeply refreshing.
GORGEOUS AUSTIN BUTLER!!! 😊🩷🤘✌️
Austin butler voice was priceless 😂
He is unreal in the movie. My god. This one quote he says when he kills one of his own for incompetence....
He’s on a roll! Just in so many good movies and shows at the moment
Austin looks like Val Kilmer and Kevin Bacon combined. Such a cool handsome guy!
Dude, he looks gnarly as Feyd-Rautha. I can’t wait to see it.
Dune is so good, i can't wait for part 2 to come out!
I love how Stephen loves Science Fiction. He asked all the questions we want to know.
Butler being friendly the whole time❤
Austin is Such a Sweet person , Love all he was in a d will Love the new shows and Movies he is doing now ! A # ONE FAN ,Judy , Love Ya ,Austin ❤️,😀!
Austin is such a hottie and superstar! ♥️
It should be a crime to be that handsome, Austin is quite good-looking also :)
lol
Still got some Elvis King in him.
@unforgivenpuppet I have to disagree with you. I think Austin is incredibly talented. His dedication is admirable, immersing himself for three years into a role and studying his craft. He practically tucked away his own identity to to play him- it’s not some Vegas cheap easy mimicry or imitation. There were emotions, trauma, bliss- the film shows a lot. Not to mention the music aspect: his own vocals. With all that, even his demeanor is humble. He may not be showy, or glamorous like many sellouts are. But here is an actor who is serious about what he does and has gratitude every step of the way. Austin’s great, and I can’t wait to see what else he does in the future.
Colbert was ON HIS GAME in this interview. Wow!
Stephen gets really excited when he can talk about subject matter he really likes, so WWII and Dune in one interview, with a delightful, well spoken, nice, smart, and interesting guest? He's in his sweet spot.
He is so damn good lookin'
Austin brilliant man❤
I love his voice it’s so soft
soft????? LOL he has a very deep baritone voice I think because he said while doing Elvis he destroyed his vocal cords
Austin whispered... 'the butler did it'
Ah, that must be where Butlerian Jihad comes from
precisely @@doko3000
I haven't seen him in anything else yet so I literally only know this guy from the Dune 2 trailer where he's playing one of the most evil, deranged, tragic (if he'd been raised by the Atreides) characters of all time. Who knew you could separate the actor from the character, he seems like quite a nice young man.
He is handsome!!!
He reminds me of a young Brad Pitt. Very talented and not just another pretty face.
He's gonna be as good as Brad i think, looks wise, acting wise and charisma.
@@stevem2323 if he keeps it up he definitely could, but Brad is on of a kind
@@chiefgee He sure is.
Another commenter was right on the first video. Give Austin Butler Gambit.
Thank you. And yes.
Omg yes!!! He would be perfect
@@The_RedVIII I went and watched clips of the animated Gambit again for the first time in years - you are spot on.
Yes!!! That would be amazing
Holy shit yes -- I never even considered that, but he'd be _perfect_
I would watch this movie to see austin butler he is amazing (:
Dune 1 was so cool. One of the best movies I’ve ever seen. Maybe the best.
I loved him in the Shanara Chronicles and it was sad when they cancelled that show. - It was soo good!
For some reason always thought he was Australian. Lol
Austin brilliant young actor who loves his craft . Even his early projects reflect his skills . Ok puppet not a fan - like who cares ! As for me I recognize & appreciate what this young man has done w his life . Wish people would do homework before they put the nasty out there ! His kindness & ability to stay humble is a testament to personality . Best wishes sweet Austin in all you do in your craft ❤
I looked at him and said, "Feyd Rautha" as soon as I heard he got a role.
Something about him reminds me of Jim Morrison weirdly... someone who has that magnetic charm but doesn't seem self consumed at all and just wants to live a light, easy existence
Austin Butler portrayed Elvis effortlessly on screen…he was amazing!!!…he has the same vibes about him as the late actor Paul Walker
Dear Austin ❤❤
I remember in the book how the priestess mother told Paul he had to learn to move one toe and I practiced that until I could do it.
Perfect 😂 so beautiful 😂
I think he's subjectively handsome, but also that he's the kind of person that when you meet him personally, you think he's much more handsome than he looks on film or television.
Shannara Chronicles forever
Can’t wait for Dune Part 2 🔥🔥
"Tom Hanks got COVID so the rest of us would take it seriously" 🤣 SO REAL
I'm a Colbert fan, but he talks more than the guests.
It’s crazy how butler went from Elvis to this it’s phenomenal
Highway horse was beautiful. Hope it enjoyed it’s run
Austin Butler was nearly perfect as Wil Ohmsford
- OMG I didn't realize that was him...
Stephen said "you know him from" and listed a bunch of things I haven't seen, but I know him from the Shannara Chronicles!
@@sccellosame here. He was amazing in there as Will Ohmsford
Nearly? Why nearly? I'm just curious
@@millicentmouton1172 I mean, the script was terrible so he could only do so much
Emperor Shaddam conquered a universe so that he could have a little more cowbell. The cowbell must flowww!
Don't stop milking that gag
😂😂😂😂
horse was beautiful. Hope it enjoyed it’s run
Haven't seen that Elvis movie, but dad said he watched entire Dune 2 without having a clue it was the same actor.
My baby❤❤
If they ever do a biopic on Norm Macdonald, they have to pick Austin Butler to play him. Hope he can do the voice.
he should be hired for the new Tron movie
Can't wait to watch part 2. Villeneuve did a pretty amazing job, especially when it comes to the visuals. Did he break the Dune-code, though (storytelling-wise speaking)? No. He did not. Nobody did so far. Still. A pretty great adaptation.
I might be getting ahead of myself here, but I do believe that Part Two may very well be the greatest sci fi film in the history of all cinema.
@@costco_pizzaI genuinely believe that it will be like The Return of the King for modern audiences, from what I’ve heard there’s a lot more excitement around the movie then there seems to be
I hope he plays Chris in the sequel of Heat.
Totally makes sense IMO.
Dune 2 is the Worm War 🍿
He kinda reminds me of a young Kevin Bacon
IMO this guy is the new Brad Pitt. Kinda like Brad Pitt was the new Robert Redford.
Austin, you must start the Butlerian Jihad
Tom hanks ❤❤❤❤ dear man ❤❤❤🎉🎉
I read the first book, but I also read one of the later books first (and some of the ones written by other authors, which were missing all of what makes Dune unique imho), the best thing in the books I read were the parts about the ecology and terraforming project, I can get space travel and weird tech from just about any sci-fi author, but it was things like the weird anti-tech culture and the world you could almost walk through it was so 'lived in'. I think I'd have loved the first one more if I'd have read it young, I read it in adulthood, and so I can see flaws that I wouldn't have noticed as a child, or things that could have been done better. I felt like the first book had lost several hundred pages worth of stuff, mostly stuff while Paul was living with the Fremen, I'm guessing an editor told him it was way too long, and that stuff was essentially action free and thus boring to young men. I might have to read the rest just to say I've read them, who knows if or when that will happen!
Love how much Stephen loves Dune.
Masters of the air is good
I hate how much Colbert is interrupting him. Let the guest talk ffs.
Is he gonna be doing this Elvis voice in dune too? We're tired of it
❤
Stevey and all hi ❤❤❤❤ thanks ❤❤❤❤
🥰🥰
It's "Dune" (phonetically "June", as in Duke), not Doon lol!
I say it like June, but I think Doon is the American way. They would also say Dook btw
@@jj-if6it yep, "Du" is phonetically similar to "j", so Dune is June, rather than "doo" as in doom. When they said Dune I honestly thought they were saying "doom".
@@TimLongson Americans say a lot of things wrong though, like aluminium and herbs lol. There are many
I just hope this feller will play movies I can/will watch...
He's no Sting in that makeup... but still.
Yeeeesh! most human speech is done in higher octaves. With more frequency in the 2-5k hz range. The fact that he never uses those octaves means his baritone is more cultivated, practiced and therefor comes off unnatural. Else, he would pop up into his chest and head voice octaves more to express various emotions.
He’s the new Tom c
Stop interrupting him!
I found the movie so boring. I don't even think i finished it. I can't remember. Now i feel like something's wrong me 😂
President Donald Covid, D.C. ...?

"Best adaptation of a science fiction novel ever?" Three Body Problem is about to ask you to hold its beer :)
Personality of 60 grit sandpaper
Austin is good looking but shouldn't be with Kaia Gerber. Austin, find someone better!
🤓
‘I read the book when I was 15’
‘Did you ever think, ‘I am Paul Atreides’’?
‘Yeah. Try to use the Force?’
What?
He actually meant "voice", the Dune-equivalent to force. Which isn't that far away. As far as I know, Lucas drew a lot of inspiration from Frank Herbert's Dune...
He definitely said 'voice'.
He said "voice", which is from the book and movie. Open your ears instead of making dumb youtube comments lmao
He finally lost the Elvis voice
I still hear it
@@jj-if6it Only here and there now though, compared to how he used to sound, especially.
Real Austin butler was so cute amazing I am his new girlfriend Victoria Vaughan 2024
…Are you that one girl on Pinterest? 😭
Hay ,Victoria Vaughn , if U are Austins new girlfriend for 2024 ! Why doesn't Austin announce U HIMSELF ?😀
How do you know
Disappointing. He was hugely applauded for Elvis, but Colbert didn't ask him anything interesting.
This is only part of the full intterview...
Sorry Stephen, 2001 a Space Odyssey is still the best science fiction movie.
Stephen isn't referring to the movie itself being the best sci-fi film, he's talking about it as an adaptation. The soul of most source texts tends to get partially or entirely lost when adapted into film, but Denis translates Dune from paper to silver screen without sacrificing the text's substance to an extent that other sci-fi adaptations have not replicated.
In my opinion
Has anyone told you look like a madow?
Lol lol lol
Does he live in a smokehouse?
His voice has some damage from all the singing and vocal changes for Elvis. He played 3 eras of Elvis with three very different voice pitches. It does not do the voice any favours when it is not naturally your voice
I can't watch this whole thing. As much as I like Austin Butler, I can't take any more of Colbert's ego and mouth. Shut up and let the guy talk already.
Boy howdy, some people just come across as unlikeable.
Stephen Colbert is terrible
he old
huh
Am I the only one that thinks he has no talent and the industry just keeps trying to push him onto us? Like he's okay looking, but comes off as a complete phony that probably had to give up like 99% of his money in order to become famous.
I feel the opposite, for me he's a reminder of what actors can be capable off, his performance in Elvis was so amazing. But I suppose we all like actors with different qualities.
I think the people in the industry appreciate hard work and discretion. Austin worked a lot on Elvis, even if you dislike him you can't deny that he put a lot of effort into it. And he is pretty drama-free and not a big risk for producers. Even if he's not the best, there are a lot of worse actors out there who are famous
Austin butler is one of the most kind actors of this day…more like Keanu!
until you watch master of the air new series about war tomorrow in apple tv dune 2 in vilain and the bikeriderd austin is one of the most talented actor ge can eat any role
I’d take Austin over that Jacob Elordi guy. Talk about someone who thinks he’s the 💩 that’s him. He for one is a really sucky actor, and two is not that good looking, and three has an ego the size of King Tuts pyramid
