  • We've visited many different types of stores here in Japan, but none got our attention more than Muji's Flagship Store in Ginza. Muji is a Japanese lifestyle brand whose no frills and no logo marketing has taken them far, but can their flagship store in Ginza push this brand to the forefront?

One of the many things I like in Japan is that most restaurants, not all, provide a basket or a container to put your bag or jacket in under the table. If it's an izakaya, the basket would have a lid on it so the smell of the food won't get into your jacket. I love Muji stores. Not a visit to Japan without visiting one or two even just to check out what's new. It was a Japanese friend who introduced me to Muji long time ago.

That flagship store was mind-blowing! What I like about Muji is how elegant and cohesive everything looks. And the variety of products. We have some stores here, but they are rather small. I love visiting them, be it in Germany, the US, or Japan. The store you presented however was next-level!

    • @LIJ

It was next-level - that's the mark of a Ginza flagship store (if you see our Uniqlo video, the store had a similar feel)

I learned something new today for some reason I didn't know Muji had homegoods. That flagship store was definitely amazing. I really like Mujis clothes but I am always worried about the sizing. However, you can never go wrong with stationary. The food looked sooooo good! I am so happy you guys had a great day together :)

The NYC story only offers a taste of what Muji has to offer! Wow! I am surprised at all the convenience food, but guess quality still decent given Japan's high safety standards.
I am also surprised they offer sample testers given Japanese sanitary standards, but do notice the samples have covers, unlike those in US stores. And I would love to have access to all the sunscreen products and refills.

Didn't know MUJI had a restaurant. These dishes are interesting as they're so on point to their branding philosophy. Their stuff is intentionally unassuming to the point some people may find it too bland. That course meal is exactly like that. Simple, definitely not over-the-top fancy but affordable.
