I'm having a Brooklyn New York Meet & Greet on (Tue) Sep. 24th - Details are here: ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxupyV2aqE94W6rawONAYR55MRVaxuRusz I hope to see you there! Also, sorry the audio in the intro got cut out. Get 10% off with my link on Squarespace - squarespace.com/paolofromtokyo
Hey, Paolo! It would be grear if you could show us cars and motorcycles being made in Japan. There are so many iconic brands out there: Honda, Mitsubishi, Yamaha. Also, some cars and motorbikes in Japan aren't sold in other markets, so it would be nice to check them with your storytelling. AND just in case you could interview or make a "Day in the life" episode with Haruki Murakami, it would be BANANAS! He's my favourite novelist. Cheers! Thanks for the content!
Paolo, congrats. This video is the most mouth-watery-inducing one you’ve ever produced! We’ve been watching your channel for five years, from California. I want to eat at every single one of these restaurants on my next trip to Japan!
Imagine restricting yourself while eating such delicacies unless it's your 1000th time eating it... even then I'd personally still take a colossal bite lol
You had me hooked with that Wood Fired Steak Donburi - and then I thought ok that's gotta be the best and then no. Each one after that was equally delicious looking!
Its so fun to see different styles if donburi. At home, i make a quick dinner version using just ground hamburger and a fried egg. My husband whos completely native to the states calls it my own version of 'soul food'. ☺
The bliss on your face when you get a big mouthful of delicious food! It's such a joy to watch you eat and have such thrilling experiences with your food!
Love your videos every Friday night Paolo. They are the best start to the weekend! Enjoy Brooklyn and let us know where else you are visiting in the states! 🥸🥸
Great video as always apart from the signature intro sound is gone 😅 Paolo, can you do a Halal Restaurant/Food in Japan video? Would appreciate it so much if you can 🙏🏻
Japanese donburi rice bowls are top notch, always love to eat them! And wow, I tried the eel rice bowl while I was in Tokyo back in last January, awesome! Thanks for another great video, and have a great meet-up next week! Have a great weekend in the states!
OMG Paolo. Every place shown here is a must visit now! Hopefully these restaurants know you are doing gods work with that amazing marketing. For my next trip to japan im atleast hitting up on or 2 of these on the tokyo days. うまっ!!
The dark outside of the caramelized meat is called 'bark'. That is the yummy part of beef when cooked. Also, here in the US, apple wood is a delicious BBQ wood. Almond, Oak and Apple are all good hardwoods. And Mesquite is also an amazing tasty wood to cook with. Fruitwoods will infuse meat with amazing flavor.
The sounds you make while eating, is exactly what a chef wants to hear. Believe me. Those sounds are the pinaccle of rewards. Why? Simple: Because you will never stop talking about those places. Word of mouth is the best advertisement you can have. It beats every other advertisement method in the long run. Stay crunchy.
Thank you for these types of videos! Classic Pablo!! I love your food recommendations where you go out on your own and hope to see more of these videos.
I had surgery for gastric sleeve last year and dude, even prior to that this would have been TOO much food for me! The unagi don with the beef strips is insane! Back to Japan near year and I think small dishes from izakaya are all I'll be good with.
I had pork loin katsu and it was amazing so I had to make it myself. I also used a sousvide as I figured it was the only way to actually cook the pork all the way through.
It would be so wonderful if I could just live in Japan for a few months so I could try so many of the great food you showcase in your videos. I still love these food recommendation videos. The way you showcase the food is so mouth. 🤤
For the kakuni, a soft boiled egg, in my opinion would be better, since u can dip the pork in the yolk. I had that at an izakaya and was instantly blown away
I can't believe you'll be in New York! As luck would have it I live in NY 🗽 although my wife and I will be in Tokyo! We would have definitely come to see you.
Okay, that last katsudon is just insane. Would i love to try it? Absolutely. Could i finish it? In my heyday, perhaps. Not anymore though, so enjoy it Paolo, that thing looks incredible.
I went to Izumo for lunch today and I think the Don Quijote is a better landmark to recognize the building near. Also, there is a Uniqlo on the bottom two floors which is cool and handy in a different way. The staff is really nice and you can order by QR code(which will lead you to a site where you can select your items) if you're not confident in your Japanese. I paired the bowl with a Yuzu sour and it was the refreshing thing I needed after such a rich meal. I'm definitely going to try and head back there to try their other menu items. Note: If you're close to a major station like Nippori, you'll have to take a bus to the Asakusa Yokocho. To pay, you do have to go to the register as usual though.
Katsudon is honestly my favorite donburi! Though that rare salmon donburi looks so tempting! That would be delicious and fairly healthy to eat for lunch. Sometimes, after my figure skating practice sessions, I eat a katsu sandwich at a casual Japanese inspired burger shop.
I'm so hungry now. If I were Japanese I would watch your page. No one in Tokyo has visited all the restaurants. I'm thinking, that like Americans, they get stuck in a rut eating in the same places all the time. But there is so much to explore. Thanks for showing the rice bowls. Again, now I am so hungry.
As always Paolo..... your video was FANTASTIK 🤗😁🤗 also every single time, i pray that you will post a new & exciting video 🙃😅. But on some extremely rare events, there is always quite a bit of boring times until you upload a new video lol 😉 i can imagine that it must be getting difficult to find new job styles. Also in one of your recent videos where your beautiful wife & your very active intelligent son Wolfy (i hope i spelled it properly?)..... its wonderful to see how fast your son is growing up Paolo lol & by god does he ever appear to be very very very intelligent too. You must be a very proud Father & also a proud husband as well huh? WELL TYVM FOR THE WONDERFUL VIDEO,& I WISH YOU 3 A WONDERFUL FAMILY DAY bro 🙃🤗😁🤗🙃
The second dish looks very similar to Taiwan’s dish 滷肉飯, braised pork belly rice/bowl, prevalent everywhere in the country. Juicy and delicious as well. Equivalent to national dish/bowl status.
Are you eating each dish or sharing it? I feel like the first plate would have finished me for the day. I get you film this over a couple days but still, it's a lot of food. I hope it doesn't go to waste.
Oh my god... Because I had quite a stressfull time I totally forgot about my plans to go to Japan next year when I'll have finished my bachelor but now I'm totally in again
Great video, I love meat too especially when it is cooked like this. Please don’t forget that an animal gave its life for us so we can live. Let’s say thank you to these wonderful animals.

It's so great to watch him actually EAT, like he's not ashamed to take a big ol bite
Imagine restricting yourself while eating such delicacies unless it's your 1000th time eating it... even then I'd personally still take a colossal bite lol
Been to Japan twice so far! Love how the folks there are so connected with their food and how much joy they have serving their cooking to others ❤

I have GOT to stop watching these videos on an empty stomach. I wanna go on a food tasting tour in Tokyo with Paolo! 😁
I’d love to see a video all about Japanese maples like the cultivars and why they’re so special 😊 I just love Japanese Maples 🍁
Really appreciate the 4k 60FPS video option!! Looking sharp!!
I just arrived in Tokyo and will be on the lookout for these. 🤤
I've seen most of these getting viral on the Japanese youtube shorts. Glad to see them in your video
Awesome video as always Paolo. The Tonkatsu bowl at the end looked so delicious 🤤 definitely going to have to try it when it’s available.
Love your videos every Friday night Paolo. They are the best start to the weekend! Enjoy Brooklyn and let us know where else you are visiting in the states! 🥸🥸
They pop up on Saturday mornings in my time zone. Definitely the best way to start the weekend 😊😊.
Thanks, Paolo!! I’m so much more excited about my Sapporo trip now !!
Great video as always apart from the signature intro sound is gone 😅

That second bowl (Kakuni) looks so good.
All the dishes look delicious. I love unagi-- that bowl with it and the 300g of beef and rice looked intense. Yum. Thanks for sharing.
Great video! Everything looks SO delicious!

OMG ❤ how can I ever choose? Why would I? hahaha… I loved every single donburi you shared. Definitely on my WishList now😊
Amazing Donburi !!! I loved them all !!! Oishi ! Thank you for sharing !

You are enjoying my two favorite foods--eel at one location and flying fish row at another site. If only they were put together
For the kakuni, a soft boiled egg, in my opinion would be better, since u can dip the pork in the yolk. I had that at an izakaya and was instantly blown away

I dream of a collaboration between Japatonic and Paolo. Big fan of you two guys.
i've tried tonkatsu marushichi and it was hands down THE BEST katsudon ever!
Okay, that last katsudon is just insane. Would i love to try it? Absolutely. Could i finish it? In my heyday, perhaps. Not anymore though, so enjoy it Paolo, that thing looks incredible.
> i liked #3 b/c i like seafood most often - great tour - enjoyed the presentation of each shop ~
Saw donburi in the video title and thumbnail, clicked to see it because I like donburi especially the typical katsu don. Liked the video as well!
I've always looked at your videos for comfort

I picked up a bottle of your hot sauce. It's definitely fire and I like it.😊
I don't like sansyo, but wasabi and shichimi are great seasonings that make food taste better.
The eel one has me drooling
