Hey I'm really glad i found your channel! Been enjoying binging your vids
I'm glad you're liking them, thanks for watching
Glad you enjoyed it! Always happy to see the impression new comers have to the series. Hope you play the rest in time.
The 16 into 32 bit era was an age of so much creativity in multiple genres, but JRPGs especially. I've never played any entries in this series, but I should check it out.
It's worth it. I've been on a bit of a PS1 JRPG binge lately, and there are just so many
@@rpg_haven yeah, and a lot of variety as well. I know it's a cliche that games have homogenized as technology has advanced, and of course there's a thriving indie scene, but big name publishers were willing to put out a lot of unique and interesting titles. I'm so glad we're able to revisit games of this era today!
Suikoden 1 is one of my favourite games of all time. Yes the inventory sucks but this game has one of the top 5 best soundtracks of all time. ANd the story and game art is awesome.
I personally think it was the greatest title of the generation and will put it next to FFT any day
The sheer amount of JRPGs out there is always an intimidating prospect when you get down to it lol. I should play Suikoden 1 & 2 before the remaster comes out. I always heard a general point about the first game is that it is short but 37 hours aint short to me lol.
Also congrats on 2k subs.
Thank you, and yeah intimidating is a good way to put it. There's at least another 150 JRPGs I really want to play.
Suikoden II's a direct sequel (you even import your save) and is even longer-the two games together are quite the beast.
An average playthrough of the first game tends to take me like 15-20 hours, which includes getting 108 characters. Granted, that's knowing the game already and where to get characters, so I blind playthrough would be bit longer.
Suikoden 1 is the prototype for a masterpiece.
I personally think this game is incredible. What is set to do, it does well.
I didn't have any issue with the inventory, but that's probably because I'm very old school with games. I do think, however, that they did improve the inventory on Suikoden 2.
Make sure you don't loose that virtual memory card of Suikoden 1 with the last save. You'll be able to import it on Suikoden 2.
I really want to see your opinions on Suikoden 2
If you like that NPCs change dialogue after events, wait until you play the Legend of Heroes series. All of the LoH games have an insane quantity of text.
Even if Suiko 1 is rough on the edges, I always prefered it to Suiko 2. Suiko 2 is technically better but I prefered the story in 1 and the musics, also the novelty wasn't there anymore.
Great vid Leon!
Thanks man!
Ahh, this means Suiko 2 is on the horizon. Flaws? What flaws.
I love this game but its only my third favorite game in the series behind V and II. I remember beating this during sleepovers at my best friend's house before later getting a PS2 then a copy of my own.
