HOW TO Charge your BMW CE 04 Electric Scooter at Home

- Learn in this video, how easy it is to charge your BMW CE 04 Electric Scooter at home. Simply use a BMW wallbox or the BMW standard charging cable for domestic sockets. Switch your BMW CE 04 on to open the storage compartment. There you can store your helmet - but also the standard charging cable. It features LEDs to give you information about the status. The meaning of the LEDs is explained on the back side of the charging module. Before using a socket, please make sure it is checked by an electrician. Place the cable carefully on the ground in the right direction or hang the cable using the loop. First connect the charging cable to the domestic socket. Never use an extension cable between the charging cable and the socket. The green Power LED indicates readiness: Now connect your vehicle! Switch the Electric Scooter off to start charging. In case of a charging failure, please try to restart the process by reconnecting the charging cable. You can also try a different socket - if it’s checked by your electrician!
During charging, the current state of charge, the current driving range and the estimated remaining charging time are displayed on the Control Display. Press the Menu rocker button down to wake up the Control Display without switching the Electric Scooter on. When the battery is fully charged, charging ends automatically. Switch the Electric Scooter on to unlock the charging cable and unplug it from the vehicle and the socket. Home charging your BMW CE 04 with a BMW wallbox follows the same process - but with higher charging performance and quicker charging times.

If our house is upstairs, how do we charge the motor without using an extension cable?
Hopefully I will have this scooter soon. I already have an i3 and use 200v to charge it. Can I use the same j1772 200v charger on the CE04?
No. I don't think so. Maybe. I dunno. Look closely at the video at 1:59-2:00. It looks like a different connector called a Mennekes type 2. But that may be because it's a European model in the video? Apparently there are adapters. So....
Hi, great motor bike!! All of this looks great when the recharge of the motorbike is instant. However when the wallbox has the SCHEDULING activated, motor bike is going to the sleeping mode until you unlock it with the key and then it starts recarge. Charger has been checked several times and it works perfectly with my other car, however motorbike needs some wake-up call... Anyone can advise on that, please?
Is there a way i can get the white scooter and still have the comfort seat? I think the Grey one is pretty sad looking but i still would like a soft seat.

Funny that BMW is already talking about possible charging failures in this video..... Iḿ quite curios how this extreme long wheelbase (200mm more than most motorbikes) will handle in the city. It seems to be very uncomfy to put your helmet into the storage - you have to go down to put it in from the side. And usually a big benefit of a scooter is the protection from dirt. I'm also quite curious how the tiny rear wheel protection will work. What about the range and price? Now nearly 10years went by since the introdution of the C Evolution. And the range and price is nearly still the same.....
How long is the standard charging cable and where is the info for the fast charging package?

Unfortunately in the backwardness of UK, I live in a 7th floor flat and no way yet to get a charging port for my basement car parking garage. I need a removable battery or until then old school petrol bike

You can also get a lot more mileage for your buck by using electricity and not gasoline

Ok, so the old BMW c-evo (2.gen) had 200km range. Five years years after the CE 04 has 130km...?!? Its like bmw when it comes to electric cars: It takes them ages to get to grips with Tesla, and when they want to be competitive with Zero motorcycles, they are 170km of range behind. I love this bike, why this totally horrendous range? I can MAYBE drive for one hour on the motorway (100km/h) but then Ill have to charge for 4 hours. On top of that, this thing costs a lot for having just 130km range.

@@bmwmotorrad Your answer to less range from previous e-scooter is "not easy to cover all needs? You already had range on the old one! Why take it away? BMW's PR- department is the opposite of Tesla: Not being direct and not answering the actual questions. You have something to learn from Elon Musk who sometimes get good ideas from their customers and actually implements them. Cant wait for Yamaha and Suzuki to give you some serious competition on this. Greetings from c650 sport owner who had high hopes for this bike, but BMW motorrad is living in the nineties when it comes to talking to their customers. 130km range is a joke, even in urban areas. Come on BMW, step it up!
@@soulslaveone more range have to be weighed against limitation to design with a bigger battery, more weight and higher cost. When this is being considered they would ask themselves the question who they make the scooter for. You wanna take it to the motorway probably means it was not made for customers like you. This is obviously designed with a urban commuter in mind. And for that it have good enough range for most of the target group i would guess, as did the bmw team that designed it 🙂
