"THey learn quick...like that." Good line for the movie, then you realize from the franchise how apt it is. Dutch used mud to mask his IR signature and that helped enable his forcing his Yautja adversary to suicide in defeat. Predator 2, the Yautja had adapted with a helmet that had multiple tactical vision modes to cycle through when his IR was getting jammed. The lead Bad Blood had a heart beat acoustic sensor overlay. They actually did learn from each fight.
And if you take it one step further they can see what another biomask sees, like when wolf saw the predalien from bull's biomask. So literally they can see what killed one and counter it in the future
I have a headcannon or personal theory that the hunter in 1 was a new guy, thus didn't have the tech or experience to deal with an enemy he couldn't see. In 2,we see that the city hunter has a lot more weaponry and gadgets at his disposal, even looks more seasoned,it makes sense that he would have more options at hand. In predators, they're bad bloods with no code of honor meaning they just find new methods of killing-im willing to hazard a guess that the mud tatic was used on them at some point and thus they developed the heart beat sensor to counter it.
@@Ro-fw3lc the only problem to your head cannon is that the jungle hunter had been hunting in that area for years. It’s been confirmed that the city hunter was a freshly blooded hunter and Los Angeles was his first solo hunt.
yea because young bloods are like serving for honor of their pride, and cultural. Bad bloods are normally out their like how natives are: hunting the smallest prey they could catch, watching them fight for their death seeing if one of them was bound to give up. Bad bloods don't give a rats ass about honor, they hunt, well, simple; survive and thrive.
@@luvfreedom1470 That makes a lot more sense. Since as someone pointed out the supers are clearly not a whole lot stronger then the classics if at all. Problem is murder in Predator society carries the death penalty.
There’s a moment around this scene that references Alien. When Noland says they sometimes bring other creatures to hunt, he says “shit you wouldn’t believe” while looking at the scorch mark on the wall behind him. Has Noland seen the Aliens I wonder?
Possibly. Some even theorize the jawbone on Berserker's mask is from a Xenomorph. It makes sense they would want to hunt other game besides humans and River Ghosts (that humanoid insect that Noland shot, and was also the original Predator suit before everyone realized how problematic it was).

When will movie studios learn that we will pay money to see that cool shit. I’d give up a Friday night to see a predator hunt a 🦖 Trex. Or a Young blood working his way to become an Elder. A female predator would be cool too.
While I would love to see that it’d be almost impossible to get made in live action. Studios wouldn’t ever pump money into a movie like that unless there’s human characters, look at Transformers. It would either have to be animated or a low million budget passion project
I’d like to believe that the predator in the new prey movie was dropped up by the lost tribe clan as his initiative it’s as good as it get so far to seeing the clan little by little.
I saw a theory that said Nolan may have witnessed the Yautja bring a/ a few xenomorphs to the planet. Totally possible considering the predator franchise has established that xenomorphs already exist. Also the jawbone on one of the predators could possibly be from a xenomorph variant’s skull. I’d love to hear what the artists rationale was behind the design.
They probably do because the yautja consider the xenomorphs the ultimate/perfect prey to hunt. So the line where he says “ the bring shit you wouldn’t believe” It’s probably a reference to xenomorphs (probably)
@@Nooneknows313 xenos are the perfect prey yes, not the ultimate prey. they literally use xenos to blood new hunters, not because the individual is necessarily dangerous (in comparison to many other prey) but because the hive is. it teaches them the importance of stealth, cunning and most importantly, patience. you cannot go charging headlong into a xeno hive and expect to live, like all of the young bloods from AVP did not. and then they have to send in a cleaner (Wolf from AVP 2) to clean up their mess. as for the ultimate prey, that crowning achievement would go to us, humble humans. so matter how superior they are to us in every way. ever hunt they have against us is completely different, and theirs always one was does or damn near bests them.

@Steven The comics actually shed light on this. Apparently there are two different kinds of Yaujta's, the one chained to the tree was a young warrior who was caught by the "'bad-bloods". The bad bloods were the predators who hunt the characters in the film, and were banned from their respective clans for being dishonorable.
@Steven Your Answers are base on having the 4th Wall Prospective, Look at it from his character point of view. This scenes also helps the audience to feel a sense of hopelessness that these characters are going to have to endure the same fate as Noland with their being no possible way of escaping the predator planet!
It kinda makes sense, if one dies, they get interested by the prey that defeats one of their own and train to prepare for the next hunt in a few years, if you look at the new movie "Prey", Naru killed the Feral Predator, and revealed in the end credits that shows the hunters that became interested in humans for the first time arriving in their space ships from the sky, seeing them as perfect prey while also having a code of honor for besting a Yautja like at the end of Predator 2.
This was a helpful scene to understand the previous predator movies as to why sometimes they are good and sometimes bad. So the smaller ones are the good ones, those in the avp movies. And the bigger one is what was encountered by arnold in the original predator, thats why its like a hunting game.
Not really, the difference is in the clans. The Yautja (Predators) aren't good, they're hunters. They respect good prey, especially prey that can turn the balance of a hunt. The one in the original Predator is a teenager trying to get through a rite of passage. The one in 2 is a seasoned hunter who wants to have some fun. The Predators in AvP are all teenagers looking to prove themselves, but come from a clan that specializes in hunting Xenomorphs. The Elder gives the main protagonist a Combi-Stick at the end because she earned his respect. AvP Requiem's Predator was a very ancient and seasoned hunter tracking down the Predalien because it posed a huge threat. The Predators in Predators are Mutated Yautja who are more aggressive and don't have the honor of normal Yautja. Clans like these are called, "Bad Bloods". The scary thing is these are their hunters. They aren't packing the best gear their race has to offer. They have a standing military as well, with much more potent gear. The Predators we've seen are limiting themselves as far as their race is concerned.
Both 1 and 2 were the "smaller" Predators. Hunters who obeyed the Yautja Laws of the Hunt. The Big ones are a variant called Berserkers. Many Berserkers resent the Laws from restricting their Hunts. It's also why they killed the little Predator to prevent him from bringing back an Adjudicator. Think a Yautja Clan Elder whose role is to act similar to Judge Dredd in enforcing the Law. A Bad Blood who encounters one if they are deemed redeemable will usually get a near suicidal Redemption hunt with minimum equipment or similar high risk task to wash away its crime. The worst get summary execution. And even with the size difference, the reason why the Berserkers would fear an Adjudicator is because it earned its promotion to Elder (like all other Elders) by braving a Xenomorph hive with no more than two helpers and brought back the Queen's skull.
@joemana2271 From the 80s to 90s, there were tons of authorized novels and comics that expanded the lore of Predators, Xenomorphs, and their interactions with humanity. The Culture of the Yautja was big in those. Nowadays there are probably wikis with all the material summarized.
Prey was so good I revisited the existing films, and I definitely would've seen a sequel to this. Having said that... I didn't see Predators in theaters, so I guess I'm part of the reason it didn't happen.
He had this awesome monologue, it seems he has a history of fighting these things & when he comes face to face with one he is taken out within micro seconds lol
Yeah that was kind of disappointing for me too. He did say he was mostly a scavenger and avoided the Yautja as much as possible. Probably killed a few by means of traps and with the help of other survivors, never head-on.
Great sequel not like the one that followed, Laurence Fishburn is excellent in everything he does! You know he's a badass to have been a lone survivor amongst these cunning hunters!
so I just checked and yes canonically he served in the air cavalry 1st division in the Vietnam war and remained in the military until the 80’s when he was captured by the super predators...I don’t think he was referencing himself but the movie
I've always had a theory. The Yautja aren't just hunting us. They're studying us, testing us. They don't see us as something to just be hunted, I think they're intelligent enough to see that we're more than prey. But the question is, what?
The scene with the moons and planets though scientifically inaccurate and stretching credulity blew my mind. Reminds me of the phrase...we are not in Kansas anymore
It's interesting that predators adapt and their skills increase as they hunt... preparing to battle what? It's like men developing war tanks to hunt a bear.
They are hunters. Their hunting gets better as they hunt. Ofc they also learn from their comrades who die. But I bet the ones dying are far less compared with their prey. Mofos have plasma casters, cloaking and a bunch of melee weapons. On top pf being fast, tall and strong af. Compare how many badass humans die to how many preds die...yeah in this movie they kill 3 but 1 Pred in the second movie slayed like 50 people lol
That's an interesting question. We can understand they are constantly learning new tactics for hunting but we've never asked why. What's the endgame? Is it some kind of prophesied galactic war they are preparing for? A titan? What?
Cant find a clip of it on UA-cam and this one is cut short...but in this scene there is an Easter egg to Laurence Fishburn's character in Apocalypse Now, Mr. Clean. Noland tells the group in Predators he used to be Air Cav and starts humming the tune Ride of the Valkyrie by Wagner. That's the same tune the PT Boat Crew that Mr. Clean was a member of were forced to listen to while the Air Cav unit transported their PT Boat to the mouth of the Nùng River assaulting a VC Base along the way. I had seen Predators many times before I caught on to that little bit!!
Predator '87 & sequel '90 are the cult classic, Predators was pretty good too but too much unsolved mysteries, its better than The Predator 2018 ... Overall Prey won lately
Careful with the heat signals Proceeds to light a fire 😂 Doesn’t bother keeping his invisibility device on him and runs straight into someone he’d avoided for 10 years 😂
Why do people hate this movie..... It was actually really good. People saying Royce was not like Arnold, yeah no shit, Special Operators look more like Royce than Arnold. The story as well was simple, but enjoyable. The scenery was amazing and the fight scenes as well. It might not be the predator you knew growing up, but it sure as fuck was much better than The Predator 2018. That movie was absolute garbage, not this one
So these guys are probably descendants of NightStorm. Hunting without honor. At first I thought it was just these 3 being bad bloods. But now i know it's a whole clan of super predators just like them.
What I don't seem to understand is why is Noland there for many seasons and the Predators keep sending death squads to kill. I thought Predators were honorable aliens that reward the winner, and Noland is there for seasons while the Predators adapt and evolve. It's unfair though. They should send the season winners back home, bring in fresh new hunters, unless the Predators wanted massing the humans on a planet to start a war.
That's because the bigger Predators are different, in culture and technology, they have less honor(or abandoned them) than the regular ones, they only focus on their own improvements and physical augmentation, not for the hunt, they won't send people who won back home because of that lack of honor, they will just kill them, that's why those 2 predator clans are fighting each other, normal predators consider the bigger ones a disgrace for focusing on unfair and taboo improvements.
@@AizenVonKleiss So the question is which predator clan responsible sending the humans on that planet? If the predators were not rewarding those humans then they should at least send some supplies or technology so that humans stranded on the planet could build a sanctuary sort of. They were left there without any improvements while those predators evolve much better learning from their mistakes on the planet which is unfair.
@@MostWantedUA-camr The ones stranded on the planet, yes they were bad bloods. But those coming in through ships, fully equipped and put the humans on the planet, I think they were the honorable ones.
Pretty much despite operating in semi nomadic clans of various sizes and fleet compositions. The Yautja still have a central government and various ranks to go with it. Not to mention that given how little we know of them its possible they have a dedicated military and fleet branch as well incase things get too much for Elites and Enforcers to handle.
@@adri2shadow All the more reason that various sentient races should be grateful that predators aren't the conquering type. Don't know if you read fanfiction or not but in mine which is based off a random youtube video. well a section of it anyway. The Predators ended up going to war with the Engineers on the grounds the Engineers didn't have the right to exterminate an entire race base on some odd expectations. The Engineers despite being larger and stronger then the Predators. Couldn't keep up with the speed at which the Predators adapted their own technology to kill them. Thus the Engineers given time lost the war and were relegated to endangered status followed by myth as the Predators forgot about them. I incorporated this into my story which in turn is connected to another fanfiction. Thank you and sorry for the long post.
I would like a movie where we see the Yuatja society or clans. And even with the size difference, the reason why the Berserkers would fear an Adjudicator is because it earned its promotion to Elder (like all other Elders) by braving a Xenomorph hive with no more than two helpers and brought back the Queen's skull.
@@danielhaire6677 where do you learn all these stuff. is there a book or something? i wish i know more about their clan, history, breed etc.
@joemana2271 From the 80s to 90s, there were tons of authorized novels and comics that expanded the lore of Predators, Xenomorphs, and their interactions with humanity. The Culture of the Yautja was big in those. Nowadays there are probably wikis with all the material summarized.
Favorite predator film
Prey was so good I revisited the existing films, and I definitely would've seen a sequel to this.
Having said that... I didn't see Predators in theaters, so I guess I'm part of the reason it didn't happen.
He had this awesome monologue, it seems he has a history of fighting these things & when he comes face to face with one he is taken out within micro seconds lol
Yeah that was kind of disappointing for me too. He did say he was mostly a scavenger and avoided the Yautja as much as possible. Probably killed a few by means of traps and with the help of other survivors, never head-on.
In a deleted scene, Nikolai try to set up a Claymore, but Noland said "That won't work, their smarter than that"
Funny how a guy barely surviving on an alien planet, scrounging whatever he can, would be so fat ...
Dude you are amazing. Thanxs for being in this world. I laughed sooooo hard.
TechNoirTV How nice of you
Eating predators, that's how he stayed healthy.
@@TheForeigner_ yea no not surviving that long with no food that "slow metabolism" excuse only gets you so far
he doesnt look fat tho....
i think he looks normal. hes not buff or heavy muscle build but he looks okay.
I love this movie! Extremely underrated! Amazing cast!
Great sequel not like the one that followed, Laurence Fishburn is excellent in everything he does! You know he's a badass to have been a lone survivor amongst these cunning hunters!
He is a great actor
Man you felt the hopelessness in the last line
I love the color grading in this movie
Is he supposed to be himself from apocalypse now. He makes a reference to the Air Cav and does the bum bum bum from Ride of the Valkyries
Tim Devlin yes he is from the air cavalry in Vietnam war
His character in Apocalypse Now was a navy sailor, so no not really
so I just checked and yes canonically he served in the air cavalry 1st division in the Vietnam war and remained in the military until the 80’s when he was captured by the super predators...I don’t think he was referencing himself but the movie
No he is some sort of Cia agent or something. There's a comic.
Def watch a sequel. 2 and this one are the best Predator movies
Man I am so disappointed that this never got a sequel especially the way it ended yes I know there is a sequel comic but it doesn't count.
"leemme tell you something....aint no edge to the preserve" damn i loved is character, the PST was palpable
Best Predator film till date
I've always had a theory. The Yautja aren't just hunting us. They're studying us, testing us. They don't see us as something to just be hunted, I think they're intelligent enough to see that we're more than prey. But the question is, what?
Humans are warlike , just like them, we both are predators.
The scene with the moons and planets though scientifically inaccurate and stretching credulity blew my mind. Reminds me of the phrase...we are not in Kansas anymore
* takes out gold coin* there once was a man named John wick
A sequel would be badass but I just wanna see Royce and Elizabeth make a return in one a future movie with Royce's own personal armor.
This movie was one of the best ....why tf are we fans not seeing a sequel to this .....C’mon Predator movie producers sort your heads out!
A titan? What?
This should be drama series
Royce was a badass though , I liked his fight till the end style
Looks like he's eating pretty well for his situation.
Maybe he eat the predators
Hats off to Lawrence Fishburne to really stay on that stranded planet evading & surviving from predators for all that time!
Man it’d be dope to have some more insight on what Noland went through on this planet like that could be a good ass movie imo
I think one of the best predator movies.
Best predator movies? But they talking too much than predators
He kept well fed and didn’t forget to shave
Underrated film.
Facts
percyzeppelin
I dont like most action movies but I always remember this one
Predator '87 & sequel '90 are the cult classic, Predators was pretty good too but too much unsolved mysteries, its better than The Predator 2018 ... Overall Prey won lately
Cool how when one of them dies that's when they get really interested, they live for the challenge.
That means they’re gonna come at there Prey harder then before. Basically your fucked either way 💯
watched it on Hulu yesterday
Am I the only one who liked Fishburne's performance in this movie?
Careful with the heat signals
Proceeds to light a fire 😂
Doesn’t bother keeping his invisibility device on him and runs straight into someone he’d avoided for 10 years 😂
"They learn they adapt" like they're cats or something, they fly through space FFS!
Pretty sure they buy tech from another advanced species.
Laurence rocks!
That movie was absolute garbage, not this one
out of all these terrible movies this one was the best.
So these guys are probably descendants of NightStorm. Hunting without honor. At first I thought it was just these 3 being bad bloods. But now i know it's a whole clan of super predators just like them.
Adaptation: the mark of true warrior.
With ALIENS it’s like difference between Cats and Tigers
They were bad bloods. They don't honour anyone.
@@MostWantedUA-camr The ones stranded on the planet, yes they were bad bloods. But those coming in through ships, fully equipped and put the humans on the planet, I think they were the honorable ones.
Define how long a "season" is on the hunting planet.
Nimrod Antal really gave us a gem here
I want a whole movie with just predators, the big ones vs the smaller ones.
I can tell EXACTLY what era this was from with the piss yellow tinge in the camera😂
Life is like a game if you know what to do you can be revived
My favorite scene is when Lawrence shows up with" Over here"
Easily the best scene in Predators
Larry is only in this film for a few minutes...but he steals the show. I wonder how much he got paid.
Lauren*.. Lol when he saw his check I bet he said, " you finally found me Big dog", 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
if it bleeds we can kill it :)
the super predators are like barbarians, and the normal predators follows codes and rules
@@Predator42ID yeah they have a military faction that use the xenomporhs as wardogs
@@Predator42ID no problem dude the yautjas are my fav alien race so like to talk about them
I would like a movie where we see the Yuatja society or clans. Maybe have a person who was accepted as a member of them and have it where we get brief momentary inner dialogue from the human trying to understand their culture, language, species, etc. but keep it mostly through visual representation. I think it would be interesting to see the Yuatja fighting something other than a human or the Xenomorph. And just have the human marvel at their skill.
Prequel yo this would be awesome 😲 😱!!
Should have let Royce die and let Morpheus lead the restance
Truth
He was trying to kill all of them though
Certainly not lacking for food on this alien world. Laurence you chunk.
"How do we kill them?"
"However you can..."
"Yeah, but seriosuly, like how the fuck do you kill them?"
How ever way can they dont have many weaknesses
I want a Noland film on how he survived and got his predator armor
Morpheus never gives direct answers
Fishburn had enough Food 😂😂
Of all the thing that they adapt but can't adapt to see better 😅😂
He looks well fed
I really did like that movie
This is the best part of the movie. Literally. Lol
You noticed how when he kept to himself, he stayed alive. Now look when he invited all those people he died. Make you think huh...........
We need a prequel about how Nolan survived gor more than 10 seasons
He is a great actor, why hes not in more movies idk
Laurence Fishburne? He's in many movies
I believe this “drill” Noland called it is some type of older tool used by the engineers. But, I could be wrong.
Ils viennent les années chaudes 😕😔depuis 7000ans
Furious Styles made it out of South Central... onto another planet. Lol.
