Bought a Vulcan-S recently and looking to upgrade a few things. This video is great!! Good explanations, no messing around just doing work, The music is good as well Great job, Thanks!!
Hi, I wanted to say thanks. There really aren't many videos on changing the air filter for Vulcan. I followed your video and was even careful not to break the plastic where you did. 😁 Thank you very much.
Ordered and installed the DNA air filter on my Kawasaki Vulcan 650 S. I removed the tank completely. You are right about the main wiring harness being tight! I also installed a Booster Plug at the same time. Very happy!
Henrik Vesander so any difference with the booster plug and the filter? I am thinking of doing the same but I am quite weary about the performance improvement of these changes. Thanks
Thanks for the vid, and yes there is not a lot of mod video’s for this model. It seems like the breather fins are more wider on this filter to take in more air! Hope you get more response out of your machine. Thanks.
Music stops at 0:34 btw :) There is a 6mm allen key behind the lock panel on the side of the bike btw ;) Looked like a good video but couldn't watch the music bits.
It was this vid that gave me the epiphany. My brain cells awoke albeit briefly and I realized that an entirely new genre of noise has arrived. UA-cam has conceived what I shall call......Happy Days Doo-wap and Soul Train had a baby and it was remixed by an app....noise. That tank is more shallow than I imagined. I suppose all the baffles keep the fluid in subdued slosh mode thus making for accurate levels. Wow. Great tutorial. But changing the filter seems a chore compared to other tasks. Maybe the after market will resolve the Kawasaki faux pas. Now to get that tune out of my head. 👍
TDawg...you've got bigger huevos than I will EVER have to tackle that! (Don't EVER let me near a wrench!) And you've got a pretty chill dawgie dawg to boot!
Victor Hawkins lmao! Juts got O take things slow and be logical when doing this kind of stuff, also know when to just have someone else do it lmao! And yeah she's my baby girl... Not sure where my boy was during that haha
Well considering this bike is built off of the basis of those bikes, one could only assume it would be similar just like many of the parts that can be used accross all three bikes.. its not so bad just time consuming. My buddy and i stripped his Z and painted the frame and put it all back together in like 3 days due to out work schedules
Thanks for the video bro! I see you with the 🇵🇭 flag 🤙🏽. So far I got a delkevic full exhaust and booster plug. I’m interested buying the same intake like yours. Why did you choose this brand? Performance and sound wise how is it? TIA
Good video man. I need to remove the tank or at least to loosen it up to change the turn signal relay to be able to install LeD blinkers and I was worried about not been able to do it properly. This video shows is possible to do but we need to be careful when laying the tank down. Have you notice any power difference or acceleration improvement with the filter?
Anyone else notice the pump action next to the bed? Also I'm wondering if the filter NEEDED to be changed. There didn't seem to be enough particulate to restrict airflow. Otherwise good ingenuity on the air filter replacement.
like i said elsewhere you cant really tell until doing most of what you need to replace it to even look. i think i would be like him have the replacement already bought.... take a look to see what kinda shape the original is in and still replace it... then go a bit longer on the replacement the next go around...cuz i would have experience that it can go longer with where im riding and what the conditions are.
I think I have already commented your great video. I have one simple question for you since I am planning to change my air filter, were you at the end removed the entire gas tank? That is, removing all the tubes. Let me know whenever you can and thank you again
Great video man..Thanks alot. But maaan i was hoping it wasnt thaaaat much of screws to go through to get to it haha...Sometimes i appreciate my cross bike a little more when it comes to things like that :P hahaha
Did UPS deliver your DNA air filter ? What country did you get yours from? And did you have to pay any extra money over and above the cost of what you paid for the filter ie duty exchange rate ? ? Plus how is the filter doing ?
did you order the dna filter for the 17-18 vulcan s? i cant find one designated for the 2016. i'm pretty sure all the vulcan s models are all the same but just making sure
@TheRealTDawg Camera malfunctions are always frustrating. But Great Video otherwise! Anyone with some knowhow who gets that far into it will be able to put it all back.
Hey bro, beautiful vulcan s set up. Did you do this with gas in the tank? Looking to replace mine tomorrow and was wondering if that mattered. Cheers from Washington, D.C.!!
changing your airfilter? depends on how dirty it is. but you never know how dirty it is on this kind of bike till you go through 90% of the process to replace it.
yo bro! at the start of the vid i was thinking that “this guy a filipino” never failed me when i saw the last part. hook me up with the filter bro! needed one here in the PH
hey I saw one of your other videos and I liked your fender eliminator and I can't find it anywhere on the internet I can only find ones with a really big light the sticks out
I just had the Booster plug and DNA air filter on my Vulcan S yesterday May/01/2019 It's been awhile since you put yours on do you have a review you could share with us ? How often will you clean it?
Hell yeah, I just picked up a 15 Vulcan S at a dealership few weeks ago too. My first bike! there were also some O.G Pinoys buying a Vulcan 900! great to see my fellow Pinoys rip up the streets with these badass cruisers! you got a new sub kuya and follower on insta! mabuhay
I noticed they are pretty popular back home, It's good to see others getting the VS... or just riding in general! lol! I just got a 2nd bike, too so thanks for subbing and following! Mabuhay!
changing air filter on a 80's z1000: 10 minutes with a 10mm wrench .. changing a air filter on a '80's R100/RS less than 5 min with no tools.. changing it on a 2025 Vulcan s: 1 hour with a complete garage... what's wrong in our century?
Ahahah, A Kawasaki in deed !! Ahahah, you have to take it all apart to do something, as simple as changing the Air filter ... Nop, with a Kawasaki, there's never a better way, ahahahah. Good job though !! Loved the dog !! Cheers
Another tip here. If you go to all the work to get to the air filter. Do the spark plugs at the same time.
Very useful video! You helped me a lot with the message at 5:34. Thanks!
Brother!!!thx for this video- I ended up swapping my stock air filter for a K&N last fall(2022). This video helped me so much!!!
Great video! Keep us updated! Just got a 2017 V-S and am starting my accessory additions. Thank you for the helpful insight sir! Ride safe!
Thank you for the support! Videos wont stop! lol

I’m just looking to turbo mine
Hi, I wanted to say thanks. There really aren't many videos on changing the air filter for Vulcan. I followed your video and was even careful not to break the plastic where you did. 😁 Thank you very much.
thanks for that info i was wondering how to tackle that job now have more confidence to do it myself
Ordered and installed the DNA air filter on my Kawasaki Vulcan 650 S. I removed the tank completely. You are right about the main wiring harness being tight! I also installed a Booster Plug at the same time. Very happy!
MrEye4get glad to hear!
MrEye4get noticed a power change with the filter and booster plug?
Henrik Vesander so any difference with the booster plug and the filter? I am thinking of doing the same but I am quite weary about the performance improvement of these changes. Thanks
I really appreciate your how-to/mod videos. Thank you!
no, thank you for watching haha!
Tonya you're gorgeous
Thanks for the vid, and yes there is not a lot of mod video’s for this model. It seems like the breather fins are more wider on this filter to take in more air! Hope you get more response out of your machine. Thanks.
Still best vid that helped me do my filter on my vulcan. (And best soundtrack) Much love brother. ✌️
Thanks for showing us with your video! Much love!
Use the brackets on top of the tank, where the plastic you took off covers ignition, by sum kind of tie that goes from one of them to the handlebars.
I saw guys disconnecting gas line and breather cables to completely remove the tank and you just used your head to do it the easy way 👍
Good video, thank you. The clip you broke was useless and I intentionally broke mine to get that damn harness off and on.
Love the video!!! Can't wait to put a nice air filter in mine.
Thank you! Was looking for a way to get to the intake!
owning an abs SE with 1600 miles on it it is interesting to see that all those plastic bits are to hide paint imperfections lol.
Music stops at 0:34 btw :)
There is a 6mm allen key behind the lock panel on the side of the bike btw ;)
Looked like a good video but couldn't watch the music bits.
Great video.. help maintian my wife's vulcan s.... and i really appreciate my vulcan 750"s external air filters.... ;)

Nice job on the video. I saved it for when I do my filter. Thanks
Thank you and glad to help haha
Damn that's a lot to take off. Just like the z650 and versys650
yeah it was more than i thought lol... wasnt hard, just more than expected lol

coincedentally you have to remove that much to install a power commander
I hope that adds some HP.
Thanks for the video bro! I see you with the 🇵🇭 flag 🤙🏽. So far I got a delkevic full exhaust and booster plug. I’m interested buying the same intake like yours. Why did you choose this brand? Performance and sound wise how is it? TIA
thanks for sharing bro...my next addition is the air filter, much appreciated video.
No prob and thank you!
This bike got to remove a lot of things just to get air filter. Kinda wild.
Very informative. Thanks bro!
Was there supposed to be a tiny gap in the front part of the air box?
Looks good thanks man!
Nicely done👍🏼 Great looking bike 😃👌🏼
Shifty 1050 thanks alot man!

Isn't this kind of filter supposed to be oiled up?
Did UPS deliver your DNA air filter ?

Sorry late reply, but thank you!
Do you have a Power commander on your bike.
So, notice any difference? Not a wallet buster for $80, but if it doesn't improve anything, was it worth it?
you have convinced me that im going to trade my car in for this bike.
Unkle t0m more power to you!
Hey just wanna know if it does a real difference on the hp or not :\
Hey bro, beautiful vulcan s set up. Did you do this with gas in the tank? Looking to replace mine tomorrow and was wondering if that mattered. Cheers from Washington, D.C.!!
Brian Cook thanks man! And yeah it has some gas but it was almost empty to begin with, good luck 🤘🏼
No one else noticed the shotgun next to the bed?
I have a 2016 Vulcan S. What's the benefit of doing this?
close to nothing
changing your airfilter? depends on how dirty it is. but you never know how dirty it is on this kind of bike till you go through 90% of the process to replace it.

Sweet! Any noticeable change ?
its a bit more responsive and peppier, but im sure i'll be better with a PC or something
TheRealTDawg , what's a PC? Some kind of programmable chip tuner thingy?
Phelps Helps he is referring to a Power Commander V.
hey I saw one of your other videos and I liked your fender eliminator and I can't find it anywhere on the internet I can only find ones with a really big light the sticks out
MR Murdock I have it linked in this video

Thanks dud, after watching this video I understand why H-D are awesome bikes.
leaking oil and vibrating themselves apart, not so awesome in my book
I just had the Booster plug and DNA air filter on my Vulcan S yesterday May/01/2019

A lot of work just to get to the air filter.
Nice ka kabayan
Alguna de bujías
Music is nice but way too load and voice is way too low in volume
Dump about air filter ?
Philippine Flag on the background?
yessir!

gotta keep all the pedestrian DNA out of your bike...
Yuuuuuppp lol
Can you make the music any louder dont need that crap .
Filipino
Dont need that 600 no more lol
ehhhhhh still want one tho lmao
Lol
Wayyyy too complicated just for an air filter. Harley beats Kawasaki in this matter.
