Not only do I love the make up and that puffing nose on Torat but Janeway's acting (Kate double acting really lol) is amazing and her little smile at Torat's puffing out is priceless..I literally can not put into words how much I love this series💗 thanks for having this up to share 😊
That is absolutely awesome, my wife and I laughed for at least an hour last night uncontrollably at this scene (we're watching all the Treks in order), and I even recorded this scene to post on UA-cam but then found this, lol. Thanx!!
Voyager was so good, now we have STD... (which is about as enjoyable as an STD)... Who knew that if Voyager wanted to get home lickety split then all they had to do was fly up Michael Burnhams keister and all their wishes would have become true! Barf!!
I wouldn't be surprised if the nose thing was a happy accident. Like they put the costume on the actor and that happened when he exhaled. Then they decided "hey that's actually good, do it a few more times!"
Wrong episode, the Ferengi are in "False Profits" (VOY episode 5, season 6). This clip comes from episode in which Voyager is smuggling telepaths and this wormhole/interspatial flexure/Intermittent cyclical vortex does not lead to Alpha Quadrant.
@@kwiatw "False Profits" is Season 3, Episode 5. This is "Counterpoint" from Season 5, Episode 10. Other than that, you are absolutely correct. Not the same wormhole. The original "Barzan" wormhole was in the previous episode, and the 2 Ferengi from that episode were the same ones who got lost in the Delta Quadrant from TNG's "The Price".
I think everything about this scene is wonderful. Randy Lowell as Torat, Kate Mulgrew as Janeway and Mark Harelik as Kashyk play it so well with impeccable timing. Randy Lowell really makes the most of his short time. Janeway working with Kashyk to extract the information they need - poor Torat had no chance. The actors and crew must have been rolling after doing this scene. The more I watch the more I laugh.
KASHYK: I doubt you'd know a wormhole from a dark matter inversion. JANEWAY: Professor Kashyk is another expert I've retained to help us with this matter. I'm afraid he's not as impressed with your work as I am. In fact, he discouraged me from seeking you out. TORAT: Professor Kashyk? Never heard of you. KASHYK: Not surprising, considering you toil in scientific obscurity. TORAT: Obscurity! (funny nose effect) I've discovered over sixty astronomical phenomena! KASHYK: Not worth the sensors they were recorded on. JANEWAY: There's no need to insult the man. Just because he doesn't know how to find an interspatial flexure. TORAT: Interspatial flexure? Why didn't you say so in the first place? He said wormhole, a laymen's term...

I firmly want to believe that he accidentally discovered it backstage and decided to do it during the scene to fuck with everyone.
This nose effect is one of the best ever -- deserves cinema spot.
I don't know if it was Kate or Janeway's reaction.
Why not both?
i don't think they told her about the nose.

Why is Doctor Eric Gablehauser Pretending to be an alien named Doctor Kashyk?
I just love the wtf look on Janeway's face!
janeway's expression XD

I heard it was...he was supposed to huff and that caused the prosthetics to expand like that. Kates smile was genuine amusment.
Gotta like an alien scientist who counts to four by making farting noises in addition to that weird sniffing sound.
I searched "puffy nose guy from voyager" and came here finding exactly what I was looking for.
Obscurity! *nose thing*
Love her reaction to seeing that.
When the Star Trek makeup team decides to have a little fun.
This is referencing the wormhole from Star Trek The Next Generation that stranded the Ferengi in the Delta Quadrant.

ha ha just watched this episode today, dunno how i could forget this guy, like wtf lmao
I would like to extend a giant middle finger to Netflix for removing this series.
Best scene ever.
"know a wormhole from a dark matter inversion" and 1:57
This alien was the best thing I've seen in my LIFE
Let's take a moment to appreciate one of the finest side character performances in all of Star Trek.
Cracks me up every time!

I wonder how many takes that scene took.
Made me laugh when I first saw this episode and still funny now
1:09 😂😂😂
Best star trek alien design ever. I wish he was regular character.
Janeway was sexy hot in this episode 😏✨
What species is the nose huff guy?
One of my favorite Voyager episodes!
I taut I saw a pussycat

Now I know how to tick off a well-renowned scientist. By making their discoveries and intellect inferior to your own. lmao
Good cop. Bad cop.
And who is that playing the nose guy??
hehehe :D
