I tried this and was underwhelmed. I then tried a Faith Mercury Naked which was brilliant.

If they are bright and trebly, put nickel bronze strings on them. That’ll help with the pickup, too

That S3's got a string spacing problem. How didn't you even notice

You are right. The string spacing on that first guitar is way out.

☑️ plenty of nay sayers but what do you expect for around a grand ⁉️ it doesn't sound huge nor particularly full but it's got some good clarity and note separation and has some of that Lowden vibe going on 😌

It's tough with these. I own 3 proper lowdens and one Sheeran. I love that the shape is the same, and it is reminiscent of one of my prized Lowdens, but it's really not close from a tone or feel perspective. You would have to be foolish to believe that you can magically get an "almost Lowden" for 20% of the cost of a real one.
If you don't have the budget for a proper Lowden, this will be a great Segway so that you can feel the body shape. The neck does not feel nearly as good, the sound is nowhere close, but at 80% cost savings, I'd say you are still getting a value.
My Sheeran is my travel guitar, I can throw it in my car, leave it out in lesser conditions, and play it at a hard gigging level. It's great for what I use it for. I really believe that if a Sheeran is to be your primary, you will need to level up very quickly. It doesn't have the depth or feel of a long term instrument.
I'm definitely not bashing the Sheeran range because it has value. I personally believe that the Martin LX series would serve better as a gigging guitar for half the price.
If you are GASsing for one of these, you should really play them first. It's a great addition in your arsenal, but it's not to a Lowden or Martin level.

Might be okay Ed's ballards but lack the thwack needed for his upbeat stuff?

No offence but I played a couple of these in store they sound like a butt plug for the money.

Yeah I do agree that when they are new they don’t sound all that good. But I feel like the strings aren’t the best for this guitar I feel like a different brand like Martin would really suit this guitar. Also when played in and the woods have had a little time to open up i feel like it sounds way better

@@alanveris1335 no ! They don’t need to open tho only thing is solid wood is the top back and sides are laminated they don’t open, to be completely honest sheerans stays at lowden pretty much as Squier stays at fender they are bad , for the price

I’ve tried these out too. Might be good through a pa but played acoustically they sounded horrible; thin and tinny; no tonal depth at all.
In such a competitive price bracket, there are quite a few other options to check out which would be more guitar for the money
(It’s all very subjective of course; this is just my opinions based on my ears)

Your ears were right . The Sheeran / Lowden guitars sound wakeful.

Sounds a bit bright and tinny - better when the strings are worn in a bit - should be mellow then.

the expensive model sound good but there entry level is a rip off,I played few at the guitar center, if you're on a budget, dont buy Lowden

Thank you for the demo. Both guitars sound horrible/trebly and are lacking depth and character. Their tone does not justify the price.
