    Thank you! I am a rusty pilot getting back to the airplane after 30+ years. You are saving me tons of $ by allowing me to review before flights!

    Very good Near MCA Slow flight demo. I also used to teach slow flight at Vfinal speed to prep them to do Vfinal GRM. Many accidents have happened when using full drag flaps on GRM or overheat the engine on GRM which is for sight seen at lower altitudes. GRM Slow Flight Maneuver is different from "Near MCA Slow Flight". The maneuver at higher altitude shown here.
    Vfinal Slow Flight maneuver is also used in traffic pattern for spacing. And also for the low 5 feet passes before letting it touch down finally. That is 3 places where you use Vfinal Slow Flight. The Near MCA Slow Flight Maneuver is not used anywhere else but over 2,000 agl and for a few minutes only due engine cylinders overheat can happen quickly on it.

    I did dirty slow flight practice yesterday with my CFI for the first time, and it was definitely a lot to take in and pay attention to all at once! I was sweating quite a bit haha! This vid definitely helping me to better understand the process and what's happening with everything! Thanks!

    Power = Thrust = Forward Acceleration = Increased Airspeed
    Furthermore, an increase in pitch without added power, increases lift, which increases total drag, which necessitates an increase in thrust (or power) or overcome the added drag.
    In equilibrium flight, T=D and L=W. Therefore, pitch for altitude and power for airspeed.
    NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND!!
    The only time you would ever pitch for airspeed is if you had no additional thrust available to overcome a descent (i.e. no engine) or flying behind the power curve.

    Jason! Your videos are the very best. I met you at OSH. I'm an ATP/CFI and fly for an airline. One of my students soloed at age 16, and will be taking his PVT SEL and his IFR SEL on his 17th BD (he met you too at OSH). Thanks for all the great work! Dave

    • @MzeroAFlightTraining
      @MzeroAFlightTraining  2 роки тому +2

      Hi Gene! A good landing starts with a good approach! Start configuring in the downwind and when you turn final, be fully configured by a certain altitude, maybe 500 feet or so, and start slowing down earlier than you think you need to. As always, practice with a CFI- especially because it is a new airplane. As always feel free to reach out to us at support@mzeroa.com. I hope this helps!

    Jason, any chance of doing a video on climbing and descending turns keeping time to 2 minutes for a 1000 ft difference from beginning to ending the sequences. Rate of climb must be steady and air speed constant as well.
    Enjoying your videos. Tony

    This is one maneuver I struggle with but this has helped. Checkride planned for This Sunday PPL. As I understand during clean configuration after you reduced your power, you added additional trim up? For dirty configuration you added trim down? I usually cant get the plan to fly hands free. For some reason trim is hard for me except during steep turns.

    • @MzeroAFlightTraining
      @MzeroAFlightTraining  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Anton! There is no "one size fits all" for amount of trim you need. Every airplane and frankly everyday is different. Make small adjustments and feel what you need. Fly safe!

    • @antonattard3678
      @antonattard3678 2 роки тому

      @@MzeroAFlightTraining I actually tried the trim today with slow flight and my gosh it is so much easier!! Just in time to show off my skills. A good pilot is always learning :-)
