OMG. If you had to summarize why the pacific islands had to be allowed into SR, this match says it all. Such flare, such passion, such freedom to play and how the ball was always alive. Who was gonna score changed every second. Simply breathtaking. The step my jaguares had made back in the day is now helping other struggling national teams to improve through facing the best of the best. And the result is sporting beauty. Go Drua! Go Moana! Doesn't get better than this
It was great having the Jaguares, and still is great having Argentina. One can only hope though that with MLR and the SLAR/SRA whatever it is now that Argentina will be able to fully re-immerse with South America and create three somewhat equal regions of the world with Europe/Africa, Asia-Pacific, and the Americas.

Since I started watching rugby, I remember pundits and journalists always referring to Samoa, Tonga and Fiji as the Pacific Islands. Isn't there (or didn't there use to be) a representative team like the barbarians, but only made up of SAM-TGA-FIJ players, called the pacific islands team? Also, everybody knows what ocean surrounds NZ and AUS. It's just that they are so developed in terms of infrastructure and flow of players that they are always referred to individually. Nobody would group NZ WITH the other pacific islands, because of their "size" difference. It's like saying "we hunt blue whales and other small fish"

And in my opinion, the Jags most likely inspired the rise of rugby in South America predominantly with the SRA/SLAR comp thriving already. NZ ironically has been providing coaches to the pacific island teams before deciding to reconsider them again into SR having played such teams with the Aussies in the amateur era before 1996 when SR was known as the South Pacific Championship.

The: Sella, D Charvet, JB Lafond, Blanco, T Lacroix, Lagisquet, Berbizier et al Frenchmen produced pure magical displays of running rugby back-along, with a flair that is only bettered by South Sea Islanders playing our great game with the 'ball-in-hand'. Bloody good game.
Don't think so... Both defences are too weak. Like the try where Fijian 2 gets to outpace the whole defence as first receiver like he's prime Lomu... They'll get crushed by the NZ teams

Drua needs to compete in those line outs. Tela was off in this game...right from the kick off. He needs to get it right... The WC #10 jersey depends on it.

Quite the battle! If the ball carrier is a bowling ball with legs, take the legs. Not much point in trying to grab the slab of chest just to slide off.
