Fun fact: the no collide thing with it not falling through the table IS something that happens It never stopped colliding, so it settled enough where it just keeps calculating the collision. The only way to make it fall through is to stop it from colliding then make it fall
Yup. Learned it the hard way by making a controllable dupe that is controlled remotely using a chair with wiremod. Added a nocollide thing that toggles when I press a button. So I can either be ontop of a prop or I can jump and go through it. Pretty handy.
being a bit pedantic... you're half right! it does happen. in order to save on processing power, once a prop settles like that it *stops* calculating collision until something penetrates it's bounding box, so it's the opposite of *continuing* to calculate collision! havok is a finicky thing
@@janglejingle5937 I've actually found that a ragdoll that settles on a platform, if i make it no-collided, then drag the ragdoll around, none of the limbs fall through unless that limb breaks contact

the "no collide" thing would be so cool, imagine just clicking a wall with that and going through it, then undoing the thing so that anyone who tries to walk through just walks into a wall

@@janglejingle5937 That is called "sleeping". When a prop doesn't move, it turns off all movement until it is interacted with (woken up)

fluid sims arent exactly something you can get realistic easily, its possible but itd take a lot of work

@@pebbletaro and assuming the tool gun change the chair to sold gold , it most likely had that weird affect as it melted into liquid metal .
It's because their simulation didn't have any surface tension. So instead of the particals of water sticking they just fragmented.
