Be careful! Thatll help deteriorate your clothes faster. And as the previous commenter mentioned-it will not be good for your washer with all the build up. Clothes need minimal soap. In a front load washer, in the pull out drawer, only fill to minimum line w a large load. The soap is soooo concentrated that you Dont need that much. Same w Downy! Downy will ruin your washer & clothes. Use distilled white vinegar in place of downy. Do an extra rinse if you need to.

It's great for laundromats, to eliminate odors from previous users.

There was pen marks all over my sisters coat, and we ran out of spray and wash. So my dad picked up the first thing he saw, which was turtle wax's product lol It came right out! No marks left behind. It's bleach free and lets just say I use Turtle wax instead of spray and wash now😂

I am curious - what is the name of the laundry soap you are using for the "pre-treater" and where did you find the plastic holder/applicator for it?
As for reducing smells/odors, instead of pinalin (sp?), you can use white vinegar (1/3 - 1/2 cup, depending on load size) - does the same thing and a lot less expensive and no, won't make your clothes smell like vinegar. Works really well on heavily soiled items.

melt Zote or Fels Naptha in 1 gallon of boiling water fill a 5 gallon bucket with 4 gallons of hot tap water. pour in 2 cups Borax and 2 cups Washing Soda. Stir well. Add the melted soap and boiling water to the bucket. Be careful not to burn your self. Stir again well. Cover for 24 hours. Open cover and stir again to break up any gelled soap. It can stay in the 5 gallon bucket but I use saved containers with screw on lids(I use 1 gallon Vinegar bottles. Use a funnel and pour 3/4 of a gallon in to each saved container(need room to shake each time you use it)Cover and label bottles. For a regular washer you can use 1/2 cup to 1 full cup depending on how big and dirty your load is. For HE washers 2 Tablespoons to 1/4 cup. I use NO fabric softener in my washer or dryer. I use 1 cup of Vinegar in the rinse water instead. It softens, removes static, and deodorizes.. If you want to you can put it on a washcloth and put in the dryer but it works fine in the washer. I bought one of those Downey balls to use. It opens during the rinse all by it's self.

If you make your homemade soap a powder not liquid I found that for my he if I dry the soap bars in the oven or microwave(I have a designated toaster oven I use outside) they puff and then dry out so it can be crushed super fine. It then dissolves fine in my HE. Or just pre dissolve what you have in a bit of water then toss in.

Add baking soda if I've been sweating or outside in the yard. Then dry with wool balls with essential oil and sometimes rubber dryer balls for extra softnessand dry quicker.
