    I got my quad block and lifting pin today. Seems like a great setup. The only thing I realized, is that I don’t have enough weights to get an effective workout. Come Monday, I’m off to the store for a few 5 kgs, and maybe a 10 kg. Can’t wait to get started.

    Just got it! Find it a bit weird that it has a crimp position, but nothing in the instructions say anything about using the crimp position for training:S Also why make TWO 30mm crimp edges and not one 20mm?!

    very interesting tool and at first I was unsure and thought this would just be a gimmicky tool. I am totally on board now that i've seen this. i'll be sure to send this to anyone that's skeptical.

    Awesome device! Would be great to get a typical session (# of reps, TUT). Also, should we train all 4 grips in the same session or focus on one at a time? Does this complement well with fingerboard training like the heavy roller or is it best to do it in separate sessions?

    I literally just got the pinch block and lifting pin, precisely because I have several fingers that are injured. From the looks of it I prefer it, wood is so nice on the fingers.

    A bit expensive for a piece of extruded aluminium. But I guess that’s normal for the machining of the die, Design of the Block, etc coupled with low volume sales. But all in all cool idea! Ultra light too

    My only worry is wether the block going to cut/ damage the rope over time or not? When Josh pulled it at 6:21 it sounded like the edges of the internal webbing was rubbing quite hard on the rope which also could be the reason for the need to pull. If the block had smooth edges on the webbing, it might be easier to adjust the rope and reduce wear inflicted on it.

      It’s a very cool product no doubt!

      The edges are not rounded, but they are not that sharp either. I think the rope will hold up quite well.

    I'm about to purchase the bundle, I've been climbing for the past year (around V5-V6 level) but my pinch strength is terrible. I note the bundle doesn't come with weights and as such can you recommend the increments/weights that would be appropriate (also where to buy them from) thanks

    • @LatticeTraining
      @LatticeTraining  2 роки тому +2

      You'll want some larger weights e.g. 5kg but also some small increments as small as 0.5kg for the harder grip positions.

    Think you guys really missed an opportunity by not putting a 20mm edge for crimp training on this. Seems like a massive improvement in every other way over the old wooden block, but considering how much you lot rattle on about how perfect a 20mm edge is for training, including a 30mm edge but not a 20mm edge seems a shame. Although this does make me think you might be releasing a new metal edge block with varying sizes of crimps for training. Now that would be cool!

    • @234i9
      @234i9 4 місяці тому

      Yeah its so odd. There are TWO 30mm edges...why not make one 20mm? Maybe its possible to kinda add something to it to make it a 20mm edge...imma try that myself.

    Are there enough good edges to train full crimp, half crimp and open hand to replace a traditional Hangboard?

    • @234i9
      @234i9 4 місяці тому

      There is a 30mm rounded edge that can be used - but dunno if its intended much for it.

  • @user-xm3yj5cv2p

    Could you use this with resistance bands instead of weights? I'm looking for a way to train from home without taking too much space in my small appartment.. I also can't mount anything to the walls, so I can't really use a hangboard..

    • @arthurzavras4155
      @arthurzavras4155 5 місяців тому

      You can use it with bands but be careful. If your grip fails it will fly out of your lifting hand. I'd recommend adding a short attached rope, or something similar to the carabiner, that can be held with you off hand. So when it's pulled out of your lifting hand at failure you can keep it secured with your off hand and prevent it from flying off and causing damage or injury.

      You can build your own crimp block out of wood. By just screwing together some wood you should be able to recreate all the grips.

    Iv just got my quad block through the post. I bought the bundle so the block, pin and weights but it hasn’t come with a quick draw or anything to attach the rope to the pin. Is it just missing out of my bundle? If it doesn’t come with a carabiner it kind of seems a bit stingy considering the price.

    • @LatticeTraining
      @LatticeTraining  Рік тому +3

      Thanks for your feedback. We don't include the carabiner because most climbers already have them spare. So we aim to limit producing extra materials if possible. Most quick link/snap hooks will do, you can pick them up cheap from a hardware store. I'll pass on the fact you needed one to the products team, if we get more requests we can consider including one in the future.
