- A very short one. It's a side project so I didn't want to put too much time into it.
But it was always an idea of mine to show some of the game, that inspired me from a 3D Point of view. And since Boomer Kuwanger is my latest character, I though, why not use him for this one.
So here it is, enjoy! ✌

This is incredible, it's a shame it's so short and we can't have a real battle, but it's still spectacular
Yeah, I'd like to do a longer one for sure. But it takes so much time. And I'm currently working on MAVERICKS Episode 5 so that will take up all my time. But It'll be worth it ;-)

Always a showman, Boomer was. Not much a fighter, but a heck of a disappearing act.
Amazing animation. So atmospheric! And I loved how X was cycling through his weapons! Makes me want to see a VR type game based on the first X game on SNES. The Zero series would also be amazing as a VR experience - Imagine how terrifying a POV Mega Man Zero 2 Elpizo Dark Elf transformation would look from the perspective of Zero himself!
Or how much more helpless you felt when failing to save X
It's pretty cool, like the detail where the final sound in the win song matches with the boomerang cutter shining
Given this perspective, I shudder to think of how accurate X must be to even land a single shot on Boomer Kuwanger.
True. In 2d it might be a bit easier but in the real world... oooof
We already had a taste of that in Zelda BOTW, from the Lightning boss in the desert. It was a nightmare already 🤪
Reminds me of the cancelled MMX reboot that would've turned it into a generic western FPS, except that was s&%t and this is not. Nice work, I think it would've been nice to have the boss' health bar and weapon icons as part of a HUD. It's kind of neat to see X interact with his cannon so you could keep the weapon select buttons on it.
Yeah, I thought about doing a HUD but I like to keep things more grounded I guess. A real Healthbar in the real world seemed like a neat idea :-D

Hehe yeah I wanted to make some fun of the mega man mechanics. Like how sometimes it can be super easy to defeat them with the right weapon.

Of course X jumped through the door. Of COURSE he did! It was either that or Dash. I think literally *every* Mega Man/X/Zero/ZX player independently discovered they did that and decided to either jump or dash through doors forevermore, lol. Also, great way of conveying X's increasing need to find an effective weapon *quickly* as the Boss Room geared up, before finally picking Boomer's one true weakness - HOMING WEAPONS!

That already was a lot of work. I don't have that much time for making it longer. But I'm using the time to work on Episode 5 of Mavericks. So in the end that will be a good thing 😉

Cool Concept, but the Lack of the Kuwanger moving really sucks the air out. He could have at least done the dab at first.
I'd love to make it more animated and longer but I had just a limited amount of time for this one.
And the idea of him just zipping around and X suddenly realizing, that it's gonna be an easy one seemed kinda funny :-D

damn this so cool. although I must admit it was very kind of the boss to let X take his sweet time to select the proper power up to fight. any chance for a an X perspective but running the gauntlet to the boss room? would make a sick gun and run perspective. damn now I kinda wish we had a Zero perspective too.

Interesting animation. Kind of a weird decision to make the healthbar a diagetic thing instead of extradiegetic like in the game. I feel like the panting doesn't make much sense since x doesn't breathe, but it does help sell the pov thing. Also I think the weapon selection thing would be more of an automatic process (like think of the weapon you choose and you change immediatly) given that he's a robot after all.

It's not supposed to make sense. It's not a realistic representation of the world he's in. It's rather a comedic take on the video game formula and the tropes and mechanics.
If I would make it realistic, then yes all your points are valid. But that wasn't my intention.

Also the point of this video is to make fun of the "weakness against a certain weapon" concept of the game 😉
This is what capcom needs to do with mega man universe except maybe more like Dragonball xenoverse, a mega man metaverse would attract the next generation of gamers and maybe revitalize the franchise. From roblox to star-wars to dragonball almost everyone is going meta. It would be cool if they would make a game based on the cyber elf wars but with a xenoverse 2 type of framework.😭

How did you make the ghost effect?
Pretty simple actually.
I just copied the character four times and offset each one's keyframes by 2 frames. That's it 🤗

But in the maverick episodes, its how the mavericks see everything in their pov
Hence why... The textures or i mean renders? Are different
Hehe... well it's pretty simple: Both are not related 😉
MAVERICKS is its own thing with its own art style and story.
This is just a side project with a more faithful design and mechanic.
With this rather simple style it was easier for me to create.
So there is no bigger meaning behind it all. But it's an interesting idea you have there nonetheless 😉
