I lived in Aubin Street, from 1985 to 1990....happiest years of my life. 3 minute walk down to the ferry to get across to Circular Quay for my job in Kent Street in the city centre. I'm from London and now I live in Molde, Norway.
I assume house prices were dirt cheap back then compared to now. The ferry to Circular Quay is still beautiful but slightly more traffic than decades ago I assume. Kent St is quiet empty these days due to pandemic fears. London & Norway - two places I want to go to!!
...many happy memories up at The Oaks in Military Road....you could buy a big T-bone steak and jacket potato for $ 5.00 with salad. you cooked it yourself on the bbq there.
@@onelife7247 yes, in the 80s in Sydney we couldn't believe how cheap things were compared to London prices. There was great nightlife and I had many great evenings with my old mate Ian Nessick who has his own mens fashion boutique in and around Paddington.

I used to live in Neutral Bay. Could see the harbour Bridge which was amazing
Imaging our old gang riding our push bikes around that area in the 50s .
I jump my bike at the location at 2:42 and like on 20 Phillips street and it’s a great location

The good old days, huh? Sounds like you had many happy meals at The Oaks!
