- The highs and lows of Freddie Starr who died in the Costa Del Sol (Spain). The zany, over the top, funny man was a big star in the 1970s and 1980s but saw some low times in recent years, where he moved to and died in the Costa Del Sol, a simple Facebook post made by his manager announcing the death.
The second report has Bobby Davro recount his presence and a couple of funny true life stories about Freddie, who liked pulling a prank.
He was in ill health and died aged 76.
Freddie Starr was an all round entertainer, not just a comedian! The man didn't just stand up on stage telling jokes, he entertained the audience through song, dance, jokes, impersonations, and audience interaction. His Elvis impressions are probably one of the best things he was known for, as he had the voice down to a tee! He was a true legend of Britain, one of their best, yet his country let him down in the end! The media as usual talked sh*t about Freddie as they do all the time, things that were not true. This broke Freddie's heart, and he moved to Spain to live to try and get away from all the heartache! He lost his tour dates, his status, his reputation, and eventually his life due to the media and people listening to the crap they talk! Unfortunately, the man who was one of Britain's finest, was forgotten about overnight and left to rot! Freddie died alone and sad in Spain, renting a room above a bar where he performed every night to make rent. He died heartbroken in my opinion, and thousands of the people "who claimed they loved him", didn't even show up at his funeral as they were "too proud" to be seen at it, due to the allegations against him! SHAME ON THEM! I'm from Northern Ireland, but I was lucky to see Freddie live a few times in Blackpool UK, and actually talk to him! He was a gentleman. R.I.P Freddie.......a TRUE STAR!!!💖💥
As a little boy he made me cry with laughter and that is how we shall remember him. Best wishes to all his family.

He is greatly missed. He didn’t deserve what he got towards the end of his life. He made everyone laugh and when his health was fading, everyone wanted a share of his wealth, even though he had little left. I truly believe all of this had a part in his death. God’s Speed Mr. Starr
_"...everyone wanted a share of his wealth"?_ The only reason he ran away to Spain was because he owed £1.2 million in debts and unpaid court costs you numpty! And the only reason he was living in that apartment was because a fellow criminal owned it, and let him live there rent-free. Try doing some credible research before you comment marisia. Only a true SCOUSER like he was that could entertain his public the way did & enjoyed it GREAT TALENT from such a GREAT COMEDIAN & SINGER. he also did a show at his home proving that not only his BEAUTIFUL HOME was possessed by a evil spirit but, he got possessed by it as well. This was a very dangerous situation for Freddie at the time. Fortunately he was rescued from this. ( for those who remember watching the show). But, Freddie was a complete nuttcase as far as his humour was concerned. But, Freddie wouldn't be Freddie if he wasn't such a barnpot. WE SADLY LOVE & DEEPLY MISS YOU FREDDIE R.I.P FREDDIE.
