Saw a flock yesterday near Ottawa, ON. It's always a special day when I see them, especially in winter. It feels like a blessing. I don't see them for a year or two and than, bam, there they are. Thanks BB guys! I share your enthusiasm!

Getting pooped on by the bird should be a new ebird checklist 😂

Wow! Do I brave the frigid cold and hope to get a good bird sighting, and get pooped on the face? Or do I watch Derek and Ryan freeze their noses off, while I watch from indoors at home with a hot cup of cocoa, and get a guaranteed sighting of a northern bird, here in the southern City of El Paso, TX? Hmm... Thank you guys for your efforts!

Congratulations guys, that was great! Waxwings certainly are a treat, especially Bohemians.
This reminded me of when I saw my first ones last month in Montana. It's definitely an unforgettable experience.

Congrats! We're also having an irruption here on the Colorado Front Range, the first since I became a birder, a lifer for me, very cool! We usually get a few here & there in winter, but there have been flocks of 100s everywhere. They've pretty much cleaned out the buckthorn berries & are now working on crabapples.

What a great trip and some awesome finds! Thanks for sharing it with us. We live in the Wausau area and had a new bird show up at our feeder this last weekend that really looked like the female evening grosbeaks in your video. Hopefully she will come back and bring friends so we can see if that's really what she is.🙂

I got a quick glimpse of a cedar waxing at my local hardware store but other than that waxwings have been hard to find. They come and go

We get the Cedar Waxwings here in California during our Winters. They eat our berries off our asparagus ferns. I would love to get over to the eastern states to see some lifers!

I went out several times this winter chasing a large mixed flock around with no luck here in northern utah. Yesterday I happened to luck out and hit a flock!

Don't they usually travel in fairly large groups? I heard they are very cordial to one another making sure they all get to eat? I never see them here in Texas. Only time I see them is on a video here on your channel or another birding channel (Leslie Bird Nerd) here on youtube. They are so beautiful!!
    Thanks guys!!

Yes! Both Bohemians and Cedars travels in groups, sometimes smaller flocks, sometimes larger

Bohemian Waxwings are one of those elusive bird species. I think most of the regular birders in my area have seen them, but I don't even see the berries trees they like very often. Glad you guys got to see them, and even better, see so many of them!

Such charming birds!! Waxwings were among the first birds I really started enjoying in photos (well the first non-raptorial birds), due to someone I was following on Deviant Art many years ago. Had no idea what they sounded like, so learning that was really cool! What a great experience!!!

Hopefully I'll be able to get them at the end of the year. I won't be back to Michigan until late November/early December, so hopefully I can get them then

I tried for BOWAs this December when I was visiting family in these same spots in Wisconsin but struck out! Maybe a little early. I finally got them in northern Colorado where I live yesterday! Apparently this is the first major irruption for CO in 8-9 years.
