thats definately something useful in situations like these, especially knowing most US highways and interstates are exactly like that. in emergency situations like bad weather or an accident, access to the interstate is instant.
Almost did that one time. There was an accident ahead and traffic was stopped. Drivers were crossing the median only to find Dps waiting for them. About 12 cars were stopped and given tickets. I was not one of them. That day my patience pd off. Hwy 37 between Corpus christi and San Antonio
Creating your own exit ramp is normal behavior in Texas. It's not just limited to rural areas. It quite popular in urban areas also, even when a curb may be lining the road. TXDOT could put fence or cables in place but that would hurt "bidness". Especially if you missed the real exit to Whataburger.
Oh I believe it because it happens every day in TX. There’s actually a name for it: Texit. The DOT peeps put up traffic cones to deter it, then someone comes along and rearranges the cones to actually guide drivers to the Texit. Apparently traffic laws are just suggestions, at least in TX.
No surprise here. I live in Massachusetts. We have a lot of crazy drivers. They like to cross the median when there’s lots of mud in the center low point. Some make it; some don't. 😅
One things for sure, this looks like a truck driver who keeps his speed down with good distance between vehicles....."good" old fashion "white line fever" baby!
I watched this, got to the end and had no idea what I had missed?? I had to scroll down here to the comments to figure it out. Oh yes, I am from Texas.
We need modernized freight transit only highways along with suburban highways, mass transit along side or down the middle in most areas city to city. We have the trillions- lets fix our roads and skip the next mega yacht...
@elixaro Its not that I dont like them, for safety and for traffic flow for both parties it would be better if the trucks had dedicated routes so cars arent cutting them off or slowing them down. Plus it allows the jack rabbits and turtles to have thier mess without disrupting semis. Technically, the interstates were built for the military to mobilize quickly from place to place. I think freight transit became an added bonus and money making result.
Bro took a Texit. Road sign indicates he is south of San Antone. Nothing to see here. You could see tracks indicating he was not the first either. We usually make sure the PoPo isn't around though
I backed down an on ramp one time to avoid a parking lot. It was safe and all good. You do what you need to do to keep from sitting in traffic for hours.
Yes, it is in Texas but here's what it really is...... a "Texit". Because Texas highways are unique in that they have "access roads" running parrallel to the their highways it is common for vehicles to cross over from the highway onto the access road, continue past any stoppages or slowdowns on the highway, and get back on the highway by using that same method. It happens all the time. By the way, it is illegal. It's a Texas thing y'all !
I'm still waiting for the unbelievable part.... So somebody got off the highway and crossed through quote a ditch quote and got onto a side or feeder road. What's the big deal
So what's the big deal here? Bobtail truck, shallow ditch, dry ground, nobody was cut off so what's the problem? Not something I would do but if it's done safely and he wants to risk a ticket that's his business. Just the normal construction backup here but if it's a fatality accident you could save yourself a lot of time. He could have been running out of hours or maybe just had to take a shit, who knows?
No surprise here. That’s called a Texas exit ramp.
Must be in Texas somewhere, that's normal down there ,just look you can see the trails alongside the interstate.
Normal but not legal.
I was thinking the same thing
Guess that mileage sign for San Antonio was your clue, huh?
@christopherkeating4830 yes that would be a clue. Never noticed the sign though. Used to run to Laredo a right good bit and saw them doing that
We do that all the time here in Texas 😂
I just came across TX on RT 20 and every time there was a slow down people did that. I'm from PA and I thought that they were nuts.

Thank you for your attitude and driving skills. Those others were dopes!

Looks like I-30 in Texas. I see this all the time when traveling through.
I-10 westbound btwn Houston and San Antonio...
Brave man. Thankfully the soil wasn't soft or soaked.
I Agree, must be a Texas Thing. See it in Colorado Too.
Seen it done in Illinois as well, these people think they’re the only important people in the world.
You gotta do what you gotta do. You see an "out", you take it!
If they wanted you to do that, they would have put signs up.
Why did you do it scared lol
Oh I believe it because it happens every day in TX. There’s actually a name for it: Texit. The DOT peeps put up traffic cones to deter it, then someone comes along and rearranges the cones to actually guide drivers to the Texit. Apparently traffic laws are just suggestions, at least in TX.
I believe it, I even saw a trooper waiting once giving out tickets and laughed my ass off
Happens all the time. Welcome to Texas.
On I-75, from Michigan to Florida, that's a big ticket!
2 minutes I will never get back. Nothing to see here folks. And yes, I can't believe you recorded nothing.
Seems like someone has too much time on their hands, SMH
I saw that on delivery to Midland, Texas. Hilarious. 😂
Yep, saw that all the time back before I retired from trucking.
No surprise here. I live in Massachusetts. We have a lot of crazy drivers. They like to cross the median when there’s lots of mud in the center low point. Some make it; some don't. 😅
This has to be in tx ! The only place where ya find drivers just drive off the roads in random spots to go where ever
Must be a JB Hunt Driver
Every place those vehicles drove to the other road had numerous tracks from the many other people that did that.
They might as well pave that median strip and make the highway two more lanes.
of course....see it often in Texas...lol
Now that's a smart guy!
One things for sure, this looks like a truck driver who keeps his speed down with good distance between vehicles....."good" old fashion "white line fever" baby!
When it's muddy we just locked our hubs in ( back in the day ), today we just push a button and do what you got to do.
We have the same in South Africa
What? I don’t see nothing happened out of the ordinary…🤔🤔🤔
Oh wait, you must be a foreigner!🤣🤣🤣😜🤠
I watched this, got to the end and had no idea what I had missed?? I had to scroll down here to the comments to figure it out. Oh yes, I am from Texas.
Give the few professional truck drivers left out there,a bad name
No no no making the road more lanes would be too much common sense 🙄
Monkey see, monkey do! Lol
Surprized that a "professional" would have done that. Stiff penalty if caught. Otherwise typically impatient drivers.
They should have exit ramps like this across the us!
Wow. It's those passing lane dopes that drive too slow.
We need modernized freight transit only highways along with suburban highways, mass transit along side or down the middle in most areas city to city. We have the trillions- lets fix our roads and skip the next mega yacht...
The interstate was built for truckers not passenger automobiles, stay off the interstate if you don't like freight trucks.
@elixaro Its not that I dont like them, for safety and for traffic flow for both parties it would be better if the trucks had dedicated routes so cars arent cutting them off or slowing them down. Looks about right, stupid is, stupid does.
GPS said turn now!

All it takes is that first one to do it and then it’s on
God damn how did I know that's tx
In Texas, make your own ramp…..if it hasn’t rained in a while.
when the intrusive thoughts win
Note: It was only the 'tractor', not the 'tractor-trailer'.
TT would have been a whole different story.
Our Truckers know what they are doing.
You must be in Texas, they do it all the time!
I have seen people do that before as long as the ditch is not too deep

Maybe they should build a fence
…or Build a wall.
Yep, just another day in southern Texas.
Impatience thy name is human.
He told his wife he would be home for lunch.
They're performing a public service by relieving traffic congestion. You'll get there faster now, too. The San Antonio region is a clusterfk.
looks like theyve got it figured out.
I'm still waiting for the unbelievable part.... So somebody got off the highway and crossed through quote a ditch quote and got onto a side or feeder road. What's the big deal
Hey Toddie , last part of your handle explains it
No accounting for stupid.
wow

Newest worse drivers on the road - punk truckers.
I don’t blame them
Well !!! Where this a will. Their's a way
Are we just going to ignore the guy going the wrong way?
The frontage road is two lanes for two way traffic
