Even a direct English to Spanish in Google translator is so bad I wouldn't even call it a translation, but rather "bulk processing bilingual dictionary". A short sentence might come out somewhat right, except that 70% of the time it gets 100% of the prepositions wrong. But the moment you have two linked sentences or one level of subordination, Google is unable to respect very basic grammar rules or to choose the correct meaning of a word considering context.

      • All pronouns are gender neutral in Tagalog
. All female pronouns are interchangeable to male pronouns, depending on context.
      • The order of words are preserved as much as possible to demonstrate the impracticality of translating word-by-word.
      • Tagalog shares most alphabet, grammar rules, and punctuation rules with English, partly due to Philippines under USA colony for 47 years. Part of the reason why most native English speakers can learn Tagalog quite easily, and vice versa.
      • Tagalog are pronounced exactly the same way as English, except all consonants are pronounced "hard" (no "j" will be pounced as "g"), and all vowels are short.
      • Tagalog will only work in Manila. Philippines have 170 dialects, 8 of them are major dialects (including Tagalog). Theoretically, it is possible for Filipinos not to understand each other in their native tongue.
      • Be assured: even Filipinos in remote mountains can understand simple English. Therefore, do not hesitate to switch back to English when lost for words.

A little comment about the arabic language: the letters and words were backwards, because arabic is written from right to the left unlike most other languages, and the letters should be written attached to each other not seperated. So as a person whose arabic is her first language, it was a bit hard even for me to read the sentences that were displayed on the screen.
