Towards North Pacific, late in the season with countless squalls in Wallis. Ep 41 Hilma Sailing

- We were not yet done with the Pacific Ocean and therefor we decided to change our course towards Wallis, followed by the northern route - Tuvalu, Kiribati, Marshall Islands and finally Federated states of Micronesia.. But that’s for later episodes. :)
It was already November and it was the beginning of the off-season in Wallis, but we had no choice. We had to cross the ITCZ (Intertropical Convergence Zone) and even though we had bad weather we loved the place and the people at the island.

Hey Oscar and Lisa, another nice video with good adventures. I really appreciate the parts were you show what you use for this kind of sailing trip. What was the app that you are using for navigation (besides navionics). Looking forward to the weather info next time!
Hi, Thank you very much. We use Open CPN and often with the overlay google maps. But maybe you ment Ovital? That's a great app. 😊
Ni flyger ju fram i början på filmen.😊😁
Ja, ibland går det undan. 😃
😲😲😀😀👍
😀👍
Oh! Very nice 👍🏼
Lisa and Oskar, a curiosity of mine. On this island, in the forest there are no animals, mosquitoes, arachinids?
Thank you. We searched about that, but we did not find any information. In most of the countries we had been so far in the Pacific there were no dangerous animals but we are not sure. There are mosquitoes everywhere and other smaller insects, but we did not see much else in Wallis. ☺️
Once again from Russia with love)
You did not make a video of how you fixed the steering wheel feather after an accident. Or did I miss this information?
All the best to you on your journey!)
We are behind with the episodes and released the one about the rudder right away, since it was a very critical point for us. Our next will be in Kiribati (Abiang and Butaritari) but then we will start to show information about the rudder. So, in 2-3 episodes. :)
All the best to you!
Hello I am a follower of you on youtube, where please I get these pacific letters for the Open CPN, grateful.
Hello! Do you mean the charts? We are not sure what you mean but maybe the site we showed? svsoggypaws.com/GECharts/index.htm There are a lot of charts that can be downloaded. Send us an email if that is not what you ment and we will see it right away. :) info@sy-hilma.com (except now since we are going to cross the Indian Ocean and start tomorrow) ☺️
And you missed the best place in the world 😂 you have gone north instead of sailing south to our lovely nz summer !!☹️lol!!?
We know, and we are so sorry about that. We will go there next time we cross the Pacific! ;) Or on our honeymoon. 😃
