  • Deaf Havana created a feature-length documentary, entitled English Hearts, which was released as a CD/DVD combination on the deluxe version of Old Souls in 2013. This documentary covers the story of Deaf Havana and features the stories of how the members met, their first tour, Friends Like These, being the only song that people knew by them, and the addition of Matthew Veck-Gilodi and Max Britton to the band. It features interviews with the band members, their families, the record labels BMG and A Wolf At Your Door and former vocalist Ryan Mellor.
It was directed by Jon Stone, a director who had previously filmed the band performing "The World or Nothing" at Hit the Deck Festival, and consequently gone on to photograph, film and be creative director alongside the band up to this day.
It is now being released on UA-cam for the first time.

Massively underrated band. Been a fan since the beginning and it’s odd because all of their changes, musically and line up wise has coincided with changes in my life too, so they’ll always have a special place in my heart.

I'm literally living in Iran, trying my best to understand their British accent since English isn't even my first language, and these completely random guys living in a different continent from a town I had never even heard of, have been my best friends, the soundtrack of all my ups and downs and just hands down, a damn miracle in my life since I first heard Holy and started digging. Old Souls has so many songs I could die for, tunes I never get tired of hearing....I've been telling people around me about Deaf Havana for years. So I guess what I'm trying to say is... You guys, all of you, are amazing and I'm glad I found you... Thanks for making music, and hope you keep doing it for long enough so that I can actually see you guys live someday.... Thank you...

I've grown up with this band and it keeps holding an insanely special place in my life and heart. Seeing this movie and learning more about them makes it an even bigger and stronger connection that I will never break nor forget. Amazing band, amazing people, and amazing memories.

After all these years, they’ve been one of the few musical constants in my life. Since my teenager years up to now in my early 30’s. Their music has grown along with me and it’s beautiful. Thank you Deaf Havana!

I only discovered Deaf Havana maybe a year ago and honestly they've gone on to become my favourite band. I don't think I've heard a single song from them that doesn't come with so much heart and feeling, Happiness is now my favourite song so thank you for that. I honestly cannot believe how undrated they are.

I love this band so much. I can‘t put it into words. Since I can remember we share our wars against the world and the love for our lives. Nearly 15 years later I still feel like a superhero when I listen to them. ❤❤❤❤❤

I remember first seeing Deaf Havana many years back play with Anberlin in Melbourne Aus. Have been one of my favourite bands ever since.

  • @Zademandel

All of Deaf Havana's albums are my favourite albums but Old Souls always brings back so much nostalgia of great times with friends and hope for the future. Such a joy to revisit and it was great to see all of the boys again.

Nostalgic for me not just for the music but also Hunstanton was the place my family used to go almost every year for our family holiday when I was a little boy, I'm 35 now, and I recognise almost all of the places shown in this video, some haven't really changed over the years either
