The Downbeat Podcast - Deaf Havana
Вставка
- Опубліковано 31 гру 2022
- I catch up with Matty and James Veck-Gilodi aka Deaf Havana to discuss where they've been, what they're up to, and the time I filled in for them with 48 hours notice and it ended up being like a scene from Scarface.

All These Countless Nights is a perfect no skips record. 10/10. I would commit a small felony to see these guys in the states, and a slightly larger felony to get to tour with them. they've had a huge impact on my band
legit amazing album 1 of my favourites
Not many people feel the same way. That album is a masterpiece
I'll have a beer for ya when I go see em next month.
This podcast is probably my favourite. Just seems like a bunch of mates having a laugh
I'm 25 and I've been following this band since I've been 13... so underrated and they're songs are not nearly heard enough. Amazing music, I'm so happy to see them going ❤️
Odd how we've grown with them, and somehow they've been relevant to our lives. It's odd af
Top notch episode! Deaf Havana are one of my favorite bands, I love all their stuff from the very first album to the latest. I've seen them every time they come to Australia.
Definitely one of my favorite bands, really excited to watch this!
By far, my favorite podcast of yours. It looked like you genuinely had fun on this one.
This is the first of your videos I have watched on my TV instead of my phone. And the quality is 👌👌
Don’t know this band thought it was going to be deafheaven for some reason but I stayed to watch because I dig the podcast
I have actually tried to get deafheaven on before as I love them but they ghosted me
@@reynlord666 that’s a shame would be an awesome interview/podcast
Kudos for their openness! Great band, great people, great podcast.
Deaf Havana have an immensely impressive back catalogue of work which surely is a must listen for anyone who are musically aware enough to ignore the mainstream obsurdity of supposed success
Love these lads
Favorite band of all time. Criminally underrated. Blows my mind they haven't had the success they fully deserve. Can't wait to see em again! March 28th, dying for it!
put this on to cheer myself up and it did exactly that, proper laugh out loud moments!!
Oh shit haven't heard their music in AGES glad to have them on the podcast! Stoked to see the new merch drop too.
Woah, that got deep and hardcore quick. Wasn't expected to be drawn in so quickly but loving it. Glad these guys are pulling through and fighting back.
Absolutely adore all these countless nights
I found Deaf Havana when I saw a video of James dropping obscure office quotes in an interview back in the fools and worthless liars era, been a fan ever since 😂 Great to finally hear what they’ve been up to and what happened to the band in 2020 onwards, great podcast !
I heard them on the radio. They sent in "friends like these" to kerrang unsigned show in the UK! Then they sent in "nicotine and alcohol" and I was sold. Fav band ever. Go to every show I can!
Love Deaf Havana, honestly I love the new music but I would not complain to hear some stuff from Fools & Worthless liars but i get the thought about it. Cant wait to see them in Edinburgh in march! favourite band to see live
You need a compilation of the best fantasy festivals Craig, seriously haha
I used to love this band so much. I would go and see them all over the UK at one point but the setlist changes over the years turned me away. Those first 4 albums are insane and were a snapshot of a special time. When they stopped playing old songs I just gave up. Even at Download last year I just walked past the tent when they were playing to go back to camp. I do love what they achieved though and I am happy they are still around.
Thanks!
for your health
Loved The Office/Gervais chat
Great band, great dog.
I’m 32 now, been listening since 6th form. Where the fuck has the time gone
3:10 this man knows what he wants and I respect it
Never heard of them but god DAMN they're great!!!
Too good
Favourite band on the planet I can’t explain it
2023 tour! You going along to any dates?
God I love deaf havana.. And I love old souls so much, I wish they didn't hate on it as much as they did
We have very similar Displate search histories!!
Can you name the guests who bailed? 👀
Benny Greb
They should do something like a Facebook poll to ask fans which songs they should add to their set list.
Helps them choose which to play as well as makes fans interact and feel worthy and that they’ll get the good they want 😊
Seen em November and I think they just need 1 or 2 old songs and they are good! Oldest song they played was Mildred
Deaf Havana dropped off after Fools and Worthless Liars.
Deaf Havana should open for All Time Low in the US! I feel like there’s a lot of crossover between the fans already. And I know ATL is a fan of Deaf Havana. Gonna start petitioning for this now 😂
oh boy dont google that guitarist jack
I am a 55 year old American and honestly, Deaf Havana are one of the best bands I have ever heard. In my top 5 all times.
Fucking hell, James even kinda looks like Ricky Gervais
the guy at The Great Eastern pub Matty talks about is called Brendan, he's Irish. Fun fact, used to live with my neighbour
...'if he has a kid, can i come back?' hahahaha
i listened to this thinking this was deafheaven
So many fucking laughs watching this.
42:07 LMAO
DEAD AIIIIRRRR
Love Deaf Havana. All these countless nights is one of my most played records ever. Name and shame the pussies dude 😂
Where the fuck has your band been?? 😂 I think I heard of this band once like 6 or 7 years ago. Cool episode. 🤘
Name and shame
