Imo the real 'bang for buck' performance bmw is the g80 m3 xdrive that's $40k less than a GTR while also beating it slightly. It's also faster than an rs3 and several other german brands. IMO overall winner. The m2 is that fun sidecar you drift around your neighborhood with.

Also I don't really understand what engine space means but if you're talking about displacement... bmw has always been a Inline-6 brand. A $70k bmw m3 is definitely justifiable considering it smokes everything in its price range. The $120k m5 competition is just a little bit faster but due to being a little bit faster smokes everything basically. You can justify every single m car for their pice. a $70k pricetag
I don’t think these are really good choices for affordable dailies but if it’s something you really want and have the ability to take care of it go for it!
