  • The S2 Standard 22 Satin is a workhorse guitar for gigging musicians. With an all-mahogany body and 22-fret set mahogany neck, this guitar is warm and sweet, making it toneful enough to stand up plugged straight into an amplifier and solid enough to serve as a great platform for even the most modern pedal board set up. The S2 Standard 22’s thin satin nitro finish gives this instrument a wonderful resonance and an open clarity, and when mahogany’s rich, round, warm tone meets the Maryland, USA-made 58/15 LT pickups, there are plenty of clear highs and strong mids to be dialed in. For the player who wants to cover a lot of ground with their music, the S2 Standard 22 Satin is a perfect choice.
After ten years, the PRS S2 Series is being updated with USA-made pickup and electronics for 2024 (and beyond). We are proud to bring this added value to what has become a fully integrated part of our manufacturing line and product offering.

So happy to see a 22 fret, definitely interested in picking up one of these! Sound amazing and I'm sure not to heavy as well!

Got mine in Antique White! Positions 2 and 4 sound EXACTLY the same both in a Fender Pro Reverb or a Mesa Boogie 5:25 Express! I wonder if the pickups are wired correctly to the switch. Got to check that asap! Also a bit disappointing the huge loss of volume on both positions! Although expected, I have the idea that PRS used to take better care of this issue… maybe not! Great playbility, super light, very well finished!!! The truss rod cover is from an S2 Vela! Talk about American made guitars quality control! 👌👌

I just don't know why they decided to ditch the 3 way coil tap for a five way. I would like to coil tap the bass pickup on it's own.

why oh why not both separately splitable and a 3-way blade?

I love it. I’d love it more with a solid bridge. Sounds like you lose output in the single-coil positions.

So no neck single coil only? Bit of a bummer.

This guitar is the only PRS I could afford, but it still costs too much considering that I can't split the pick ups individually and that the pick ups of an American made guitar are made in Indonesia. I prefer G&L
