Even just the little look Frank gives, has me almost to tears. I binged watched the whole series, and I don't remember crying that much watching any other show. Even other powerful scenes other than Mark dying. This was a well directed, well written, perfectly cast show. No matter how much later into the future tv shows go, there will be nothing that could come close to the power of ER.
Your words are channeling my thoughts and opinions also. Just finished binge watching it again after a couple years and the emotions this show evokes from me are beyond anything else. The writing was brilliant, the camera work was flawless, and the storylines had the power to draw you in to even the smallest secondary plot and come out crying, relieved, or feeling gleeful. The actors were so real and the characters came to feel like family. My husband and I don't agree on many shows and movies but we both rate ER as our favorite show of all time. The show is timeless and brilliant.
The pain and hurt in that one scene. No TV show was or will ever be more powerful than ER. Like Marc said before his departure : “ Be gentle and giving. always.” Rachel sure did.
ER is still my favourite show ever. I kept watching to the last episode because I had to see how Abby and everyone else ended up. Rachel's appearance at the show's death was the payoff for the loyal fans like me. There will never be another ER.
I have to admit I didn't recognize her at first when I saw this because her hair was so different, but I was wondering why the cameras seemed to be following her around. When she said who she was I instantly teared up and got literal goosebumps all over my body.
The thing I love about this scene is the fact that Frank was the one whom Rachel ran into. That look on his face once Frank found out that _Mark's daughter_ was right in front of him... the shock, the surprise, the bittersweet memories... Frank didn't work with nor know Mark as long as Jerry has; he only knew Mark from the end of Season 6 to the end of Season 8, so 2 years at best. Yet, Mark still clearly left an impact on Frank nonetheless
And it's nice that they don't try to make him remember her when he saw her so little. There is another appearance of her in the 10th season that Jerry is the one who remembers her, not him. This makes a lot of sense to me and makes the series logical.
Yes, those scenes, and the one scene when they were wheeling Greg Pratt after he had passed on to the OR, and Frank went over to the elevator and pressed the button, and put his hand on Pratt's shoulder..That one got me..
@@debraevans3398 YES!!! I was going to comment the same thing!! Pratt dying absolutely devastated me.. I hadn't cried as hard over a character dying since Mark. One of the reasons it hit so hard was because of how much Pratt had evolved as a character. And to watch Frank evolve in front of my eyes to show the pain he felt losing Gregg was gut wrenching.
@@therealmistahjay The start of it was when Frank had his heart attack and Pratt was with him, Frank started naming off his black friends who died in Vietnam. Pratt thinks he's trying to prove he's not racist, but Frank says "When I look at you I see what they could have been."
I'm glad that they changed actresses playing Rachel. The first actress who played her until early teens was okay but I don't think she's as good of an actress as Hallee Hirsch. She probably couldn't have handled the accidentally giving Ella the ecstacy episodes and after as well as Hirsch did.
Frankly, I might have preferred to see her introduction to other long-time staffers. "Nurse Hallee? This is our new med student, Rachel. Rachel *Greene*."
George Clooney and Noah Wyle guest-starred on Friends one time (though they weren't playing their ER characters). It would have been hilarious if Anthony Edwards could have joined them. He could have looked at Jennifer Aniston and said "you remind me of my daughter"!
Here’s an idea for a sequel to ER. How about a sitcom where Rachel juggles working as an ER doctor while being a mother to three teenage sons? Oh, and her husband is an airline pilot.
When you’ve been dead for years but your name causes that reaction, you’ve done something right.
Especially from Frank
The look that comes over Frank's face... great acting... no words necessary when you can deliver a look like that.
Absolutely. Lovely moment
I agree. So good!
yes ..great acting ...awesome ...
Indeed. He basically said 3 pages of lines with one look and a “huff”.
You can see his entire timeline with Mark flash through his memory in that look.
Frank's response made me well up
Same! And by the way, your name caused your comment to catch my eye, Ray Barnett. 😉😁
me 2 ..awesome ...
Just proves an actor can convey such emotions in less than 30 seconds & doesn't need words. Great work Frank. Truly heartbreaking.
The good Actors.
Check him out in the scene where they’re wheeling Pratt through the ER. He made me bawl and he didn’t say a word.
Frank’s reaction just goes to show how much he loved Dr. Greene as a friend and co-worker.

A wonderful bit of acting. You can just see how hard that hits him.
Simply a beautiful moment
Rachel has turned into a beautiful woman
Yes, she is very beautiful.
That peace of music. Gets you right in the heart.
I loved this frank character. He brings more fun and laughter
Great moment for Frank.

The cracks in the armor revealed in such sweet ways. This one in Frank and Dr Morganstern signing to Reese Benton. Makes me teary every time.
You sure you meant Morganstern? The clip I find has Dr Romano.
@@kerryedavis my mistake, yes Romano.
Frank always gets me 🥺
I'm watching the show again, and I'm still crying. ER stands the test of time. An excellent show. ❤
I’m watching all of ER again on channel 4 ❤ just amazing tv
It is 2024, I watched this many times, but today I cried, like always. Beautiful scene
Frank's reaction was my reaction.
This scene wasn’t long enough. They could have done much more with it. But I love it just the same. The next generation of Greene!
I get a lump in my throat when he recognises her.
I have to admit I didn't recognize her at first when I saw this because her hair was so different, but I was wondering why the cameras seemed to be following her around. When she said who she was I instantly teared up and got literal goosebumps all over my body.
Zero to tears in 29 seconds

Frank was Carter's first IV start. Frank was a CPD police officer who shot himself in the leg. Pretty funny scene!

Best emergency drama ever
The music at the end is Greene’s farewell theme from Orion in the Sky
Good upload 30 secs neat and clean
I love her hair.
He came off as gruff and a jerk sometimes but then there's this scene and also the episode with his Down's daughter :)

This is why Frank always needs Jerry .
' I'm Rachel Greene '
' HOLY FUCK '
Love this TV 📺
There was also the episode where Carter meets the girl he helped to deliver, 12 years earlier as I recall.
be generous
always

It would feel like a visit from a ghost....and you're thankful.
Need a longer clip
Why did I think we were talking about Friends Rachel Greene. Completely forgot about the other Rachel greene.
Well, Friends had just Rachel Green, no e at the end. 🙂 Couldn't you tell?
Dr.greene.....
Awwwwww
I love 2 second video s cool
And the the Drs met Rachel Green
He was at Marks Funeral so I’m sure he at least saw her there

Appropriate since that was Hallee Hirs(ch) sp? playing Rachel
Happy birthday at troy ewans from italian boy live in rome and I m fan of er
Check out the hair on the woman in the background around 19 seconds...
Yes, very practical in this work environment!! 😁😁
So 2 hugely popular NBC series used the same name? Rachel Green
Nickelodeon had a show where one of the main characters' name was Phoebe Monica Rachel.
Only spelled differently. Green and Greene.
George Clooney and Noah Wyle guest-starred on Friends one time (though they weren't playing their ER characters). It would have been hilarious if Anthony Edwards could have joined them. He could have looked at Jennifer Aniston and said "you remind me of my daughter"!

She could do that now, but not then; she wasn't old enough.
@@kerryedavis That’s what I’m saying. Do the sequel now.
How old should Rachel be? In 1994 she was perhaps 4, how can she have already finished university and started her internship in 2009?
She’s 22 here
The character was born in 1987.
This same actress started playing Rachel at the age of 14.
She's a med student.
