  • Here is a (perhaps familiar) Victorian beauty recipe for a “cerate” or balm, which is great for hands, cuticles, and especially lips!

I commented this on the original video, but for anyone who's wondering, this works really well in hot weather! I made some recently (poured into a tube) and it's been very consistently good across wild temperature swings and stays pretty much the same texture when carried in a pants pocket. Highly recommend! And it lasts longer on the lips than any other lip balm I've used.
Also, it's a pretty natural finish (not visibly shiny) and works very well under lipstick

I'm so happy you've posted again!
I needed a good lip balm recipe to replace the one I currently buy, and this is nice and simple to try. I may need to use a bit more beeswax so I can use the balm as a protective layer under lipstick. It'll be fun to see what I come up with!
