Savarez, Cantiga Creation Premiums, I go between all high tension, and the mixed sets with high basses and normal trebles. Can’t remember what tension trebles on when I recorded this unfortunately!
This performance is a clear example of a transcription that brings out so much more off the music than the original version does. Michael Butten articulates the polyphony much better than any violinist ever could. This rendition is very convincing both technically and emotionally.
This Allegro is so complex. Here a master has climbed this mountain and gives us a glimpse of the view. How much work to and preparation to go up there. How beautiful the view, how fresh this air. How kind the gift brought back, this memory that stays with us, who barely can walk. And the Fuge.. how beautiful.. contemplating the way up.. Encouraging .. All calling to leave behind hope and take the instrument we inherited.. play and walk.. With much Love .. Thank you for sharing
What a tremendous gift you have worked to develop into true mastery, Michael. I am in awe of the beauty of the music here. Such a pleasure to hear, always.
The best student Bach ever had, I was fortunate enough to have a lesson from Michael, he had no ego despite his talent a true gentleman and a wonderful teacher
I first saw you play in Marlow in 2017 - Great performance. Saw you in 2018 in St. Albans - Even Better. This one is stunning - you get better each time I see you.
Wonderful playing, great interpretation, marvellous sound! Michael Butten, please tell me that you have recorded all sonatas and partitas and that I can buy a CD!
Marvellous playing sir. The guitar plays the chords more sympathetically than the violin, which to me sometimes sounds like it’s having difficulty spreading the arpeggios. Loved your interpretation.
Thank you so much to Siccas for posting it, and thanks to everyone for watching!
The sound is absolutely mesmerizing. This is super difficult to achieve with a guitar.
Amazing!! What strings did you use?

This is one of my favorite guitar performances I've ever heard. I keep coming back to it!
There are some performances that you know are going to be great within the first ten, or less, seconds. Like this one !!! Great tone.
What a tremendous gift you have worked to develop into true mastery, Michael. I am in awe of the beauty of the music here. Such a pleasure to hear, always.

Incredible voice attention and balance
Incredible playing Michael. Clear and strong!
Unbelievable performance. The whole thing is incredible, but I think it’s my favorite performance of the C Major fugue I’ve heard on any instrument.
A tour de force of composition getting the performance it deserves! Absolutely stunning in all ways. Also great videoing.
Magnifique bravo....Allegro Assaï
So inspiring. Breathing such life into these notes. Beautiful.
A delightful master-piece performance.
Sublime, beautiful playing.
I think i was listening to the best guitarist in the world. I can not understand the 17 dislikes. Who are those people?
Usually it’s just people accidentally hitting the dislike button. I’ve done it myself a couple of times- surprisingly easy to do on mobile!

I was unconsciously humming "London bridge is falling down..." to the 2nd movement Fugue
Thanks man, a friend pointed that out to me too, I can’t allow myself to think about that too much or it loses its epic ness in my head! 😂

God bless. This is beautiful and exquisite. What guitar your are playing?
a forty hours per day practise guitar :- D
That slow vibrato sounds so intellectually right
holy shit
👏👏👏
Yo creo que siendo un excelente guitarrista, interpreta muy libremente al maestro Bach.
Does the guitar have an internal microphone? Beautiful performance and great sound by the way.
