      They are pretty nice and so far work just as good as they look.

    After switching to locked diff there is a lot of rotation play coming from the wheels.

    • @RunThatRC
      @RunThatRC  16 днів тому +2

      yes unfortunately most of these portal axle setups have a lot of play.

    You need some injora flex blades for the bronco I have them and they are awesome

    • @RunThatRC
      @RunThatRC  2 місяці тому

      They look interesting. I might try them but they seem to be for more obstacle course driving. I'm more of a trail guy and like some wheel lift. Also I noticed for trail driving having too much flex causes me to roll over on side hilling maneuvers.

    Wish one of these companies would make a set of axles that fit WPL ‘s . Nice axles .

    Why would you want open diffs on something like this?

    • @RunThatRC
      @RunThatRC  5 місяців тому

      I probably won't be keeping it open it comes with the solid spools. They probably did it for options. For people who want to go more scale or try and turn these into brushless bashers.

    What brand of wheels is good to run with these axels? I have a set of ogrc wheels and I cant get a tool in there to tighten it up.

    • @RunThatRC
      @RunThatRC  3 місяці тому

      The Traxxas plastic beadlocks for the trx4m work well because it has plenty of space for a wheel wrench to tighten the nut. I'm using injora wheels and have to use needle nose to tighten sometimes.

    what is the strength of the servo that came with those axles?

    • @RunThatRC
      @RunThatRC  13 днів тому

      not as strong as the stock servo but it might be able to run at a higher voltage to get the servi working right. I might have to ask RCAWD about it. Im using the stock trx4m servo in mine.

    The weight is going to help as well as the serious engineering that went into those.

      I had a set of those. They work fine. I replaced my RCAWD portals and installed the MEUS portals because overdrive is not available with the RCAWD portals.

  • @Sol-hl2rj

    I get why we get portals for TRX-4M… but why is everyone widening track width? The choices of rims also exclusively widens..
    So why buy a scale looking car only to ruin it being good looking. Thanks for the review anyway!

    • @RunThatRC
      @RunThatRC  5 місяців тому +1

      Looks are subjective, fortunately. As for scale looks, I see rigs like this here in Arizona all the time. So if a 1:1 can drive around looking like my 1:18 then that's scale to me. What does scale mean anyway? Scale to a stock rig, a built rig or super custom built rig. I respect most builds because everyone has their style. Think of how boring the world would be if we all did the same things.

      @@RunThatRC I think you misread the comment..: What I mean is that I’d like to se a CHOICE - Not just a single path of how to add accessories to your rc - some like more real life scale and the challenges this brings, not everyone has the eager to lift or widen their rc..
      and there’s also the risk of misinterpreting WHAT the rc wants from a rc manufacturers perspective. If all “influencers” as for is on one path and not the others - you know what’s likely to happen.. copy, copy, copy.. Take for example FMS’ FJ 45 - its extremely capable, completely stock. Portals hopefully brings better low end control to the TRX-4M, it needs it. However, I sold my Bronco and LR Defender because of that. The Traxxas Defender is modelled after Arctic trucks. And that’s the way I’d like it to be. My Traxxas UDR is also a favourite of mine - its challenging - and I’d never change it. My Stampede VXL is also fun.. totally different concepts - there’s where the fun is!

      @@Sol-hl2rj I always tell people a lot of these upgrades aren't needed and most are just to make your RCs different. I run most my RCs close to stock and enjoy them the way there are as well. I was sent these for review and I decided to make this high lift bronco. I was fine with my bronco the way it was with the Traxxas method beadlocks. I just got a opportunity to review some nice parts. Even my scx6 is close to stock compared to what I see others running out there.
