Just found crawling & your CH! Super articulate & comprehensive work my friend! My Bronco should be here tomorrow so I will be referring to your hood-up vids 😎
After lots of testing I maxed out at 56 degree incline with the stock shocks and springs. The trx4m has a lot of torque twist and I found that putting 4 shock spacers on the rear passenger made it crawl so much better. Might be worth checking out and putting a weak spring in the rear right to combat that torque twist.
Hello Adam, Would you consider creating a playlist for all your Trx4m videos? This would make it a lot easier to navigate the videos and follow the experience of your build. Thank you!
5:15 that would make a really sick thumbnail! that angle tho!!! cant wait to see all the goodies this truck has this year, i can feel a no expenses spared trx4m build in my future, something about this truck really resonates with me
680g , there was a definite improvement with the shocks, I think oil filled shocks are the way to go. The main problem I have at this moment is the limitations with the battery 🔋! Awesome video brother !

I am in process of building an extended wheelbase trx4m. Will be cutting the front frame arms off for more servo clearance. Losi B shocks are on the way! thanks for proving them out. You're going to need to run rear springs of some sort. I just can't get away without them to reduce the frame twist. My rubber band limiter seems to be most effective when connected to the servo bracket instead of the links. Love to see where this build is heading. I've given up on the factory body. Even after removing the top and windows, it's still crazy heavy.
Interested to hear how your build progresses! What are you using for links? I'm going to be testing a new frame from Furitek you may be very interested in...
@@CapeCrawlers I see they just posted the Bettle for pre-order ;) I'm going for LCG type crawler, so I prefer grasshopper style with full length rails so I can push the upper shock mounts toward the link pivots. I'm going to see how far the factory chassis rails will get me, first. for mocking up, new setup will be factory trx4m rear lower links with custom length uppers to provide appropriate front caster angle. Once I finalize that, I'll likely fab some custom high-clearance links front and rear.
90% of the fun is the trial and error after any mods or changes on these trucks for sure!! Congrats on 10k man keep this up, the channel is going to get huge for sure 👍🏻…626 grams
After doing the budget lift on this thing I found that the axle pins kept popping out on all of them and I lost all the pins. What I did to fix this issues was to put a paper clip thru then wrapped it around the driveshafts where the o-rings would be and I have had an issue since. I’ve just got major binding while driving straight. Drive line angles are too aggressive causing this bind.
You did a great job. This is not the kind of build I would be shooting for, but this video is super useful as you have come up with different ideas to approach the tuning.
I think people get way too carried away with all the brass, like anything else is a balance. Yeah you might have more weight for traction but now you're dragging twice the weight up a hill.
Tried one out today myself and gotta say, the plastic pieces make for an extremely weight body which causes it to keep flipping. IMO the brass will definitely help from flipping and help out more traction down to the tires
Axle housing weight and lower link weight. Shock bottoms weighted. Then it’s all about those foams/tires combination. . The most common mistake is heavy wheels, which is rotational weight and is no good when the right shocks are mounted correctly.
Hey guys I've upgraded my trx4m with the losi mini t shocks.. installed flex blades and shock keys also installed aluminum beadlock wheels and 62mm tires. I have lots of articulation on the rear axle but hardly any on the front axle. Also the front flex blades will not drop and I'm getting torque flex in the chassis. How can I fix these two problems?
I ran into this with mine. Try experimenting with different shock mounting positions up front. Also make sure that your shock body isn't too tight against the frame rails. That was my problem: the shock couldn't pivot on the hardware and would stick.
@@CapeCrawlers you'll need a pack of the tiny lock nuts from axial, they come in a 10 back, fit the standoffs, shove standoff through shock key use nut, profit, the biggest plus is the standoffs come with the bushing for the top of the shock. On the lowers I use a cut servo mount bushing and a little heat shrink over the bushing.
My son is upgrading his tires as well to the rock terrain injora bead lock tire he’s having trouble getting the rims to hook properly in the tires could you make a little tutorial on how to put them on properly?
Yet another awesome video with a great setup on another rig! The improvement was awesome to see, after the problems were solved. Those shocks are sweet! The hex extenders are definitely nice, but I think it would be a very worthwhile sacrifice to loose them and keep the wheels and tires. How are your RCAWD Portals on the Gladiator holding up now? Hello, I am converting my FCX24 K5 Blazer to the TRX4M axles. Reason being that the FCX24 seems to be a bit bigger than the normal 1/24 scale and the TRX4M axles are only slightly bigger than the stock axles FMS gives you. Only problem is hardware. Could you recommend me to somewhere i can get the hardware you used for your suspension and linkage?

My son was wondering how much money you spent on your trx4m in upgrades not including the car? My son loves your videos and is trying to upgrade his own
On your old set up how did you let your front links move up and down fully? I've got the Injora high clearance links and a Injora 11kg servo and I tried replicating your old setup but it seems like the shocks won't extend all the way, I really wanna save this and hope not to buy another Chassis
The servo mount is always going to limit your vertical axle drop. There isn’t really a way around that. You can articulate really well side to side with an aftermarket chassis and/or a laydown servo mount, but the upper link mounting on the front will always hold you back
Any tips on bleeding the shocks and how much oil ? I removed a lot of oil and they where really sticky so I added some and still sticky so I’ve gone back to using the springs but I get no drop any tips ?
Here's a video on bleeding (towards the end): ua-cam.com/video/OH_vloPzHvY/v-deo.html I used 4-7 drops of oil, not much at all. I rely on the wheels and axles to pull them down. They stick when I first pick it up after not using it for a while but after they're worked a bit they are nice and smooth.
Before I put the hex extensions on I couldnt get the Traxxas wheel nut tightened with those inner screws installed on the wheels. But the Treal hexes use a smaller nut, so I will likely put them back on. Not sure though as I kinda like the all black/gold center.
Axles are stock housing. I added the +2mm injora axles and treal hex extensions. Shocks are Losi mini B rear shocks all around (amzn.to/3EWsRiV) with Adaptiv3 Designs (etsy) flex extensions.
I was looking at the shocks on amazon the Losi ones and I was wondering are you running rear shocks on both the front and back end or running them accordingly?

Another awesome Video Adam! Curious if you have a video on possible issues to experience with the scx24 mods? I recently purchased 3 of them so i can wheel with my kiddos. I bought links, trans, servo, axles and gears for my gladiator scx24 but Since i did the build my truck doesn't work...long storey short, My wheels spin constantly, as soon as i turn it on they start moving, and the rig doesn't go very fast anymore, not sure what i did wrong??? maybe i tightened the trans to much? wheels are lose enough i believe, but i do have aftermarket bead-locks, but not sure why the wheels move forward constantly. Any help would be greatly appreciated 🙂
That's a good idea: pitfalls of upgrades! Your issue sounds like an electrical one of some sort. Possibly the transmitter and the throttle settings? Have you tried messing with the throttle adjustments? It could be a faulty ESC also. Sometimes they glitch out after adding new electronics or heavier/more demanding upgrades.
@@CapeCrawlers Ow really? I never considered it might be the ESC, I tried adjusting all the throttle setting manually, but it didn't help, I thought possibly i put the cable into the ESC upside down, that didn't help either, looks like I'll have to buy a new ESC, do you have any you recommendations? or just the stock ESC?
1/2 inch if you run them over the o rings. 3/8 inch if you remove the o ring and decide to use just the shrink tube. Personally I just put 1/2 inch over my O rings to be extra safe.
I'm gonna say this looks like articulation for the sake of articulation without understanding what suspension does. You need to have a close look at weight distribution and how much total weight you've added. Added torque wants to be planted and properly balanced. In addition torque twisting needs to be addressed with that weight distribution. Just having the wheels touch the ground doesn't help if the torque is going to the wrong wheel(s). This is meant as constructive criticism, I really like the videos. 😎
You are absolutely right: articulation for the sake of articulation. Just plain fun. I fell in love with tinkering these little things chasing the articulation, so it's almost my default approach to see how much articulation I can get out of these things.
brother the honesty displayed in this video is well earned of my sub and like keep em comin bro and please maintain that transparency we need more of you guys!
Should I buy one of these and upgrade or keep my jlu and upgrade it. I guess my real question is could a Scx24 fully upgraded keep up with your trx4m build.
A fully upgraded SCX24 will outperform the M, or that's how it is with my SCX24's. The bronco and JLU would be close, but the others are unquestionably more capable than the M.
Congrats on having a very capable trx4m. I can't get mine to perform as well as my scx24. I'm guessing 791 grams. Also thank you for having a real 5th wheel on the back. Cant stand to see that fake wheel cover.
Flex blades seem pretty cool and all but when there’s a kids making them off a 3-D printer and only cost like five or $.10 to make . He slangs them for nine dollars for 2+ shipping you’re looking at like 30 dollars for 4 little pieces of plastic . I’ll probably just wait until someone makes aluminum ones!!
Get rid of that rear spare. Get yourself a 3D front bumper. I have one and it never interferes with the front tires. It is about an inch long, dead center of the front of the truck...
I wanna see a comparison between this Bronco & Axial's 24 Bronco, performance wise. 🤔 Traxxas' looks cool, but Axial's looks you could do WAY more than Traxxas', on this 24 scale. If I were to get another 24, I'd probably go Axial.

750g?
What size shrink tubing is used for going over the driveshaft joint pin and o ring?
I’ll have to check and let you know. A subscriber made some for me but I can’t tell what size the tubing is
1/2 inch if you run them over the o rings. 3/8 inch if you remove the o ring and decide to use just the shrink tube. Personally I just put 1/2 inch over my O rings to be extra safe.
Hey for the shocks do I get the rears all four or front and rear
Rears all around
@@CapeCrawlers thanks 😎👍🏽
I'm enjoying your content and seeing the Bronco evolve, I just cut my fenders today and it made a huge difference, I would guess yours weighs 698g.
Glad you’re enjoying it! I love modding a new rig. It’s like the discovery process all over again!
That flex is extreme. I have found out that extreme flex will cause the vehicle to downgrade. Stock shocks will work better.
You are correct. It takes a TON of work to maintain capability with articulation. But that's part of the fun!
@@CapeCrawlers Absolutely! Love it.
I can’t find the shocks which one are they?
They are Losi mini B rear shocks all around: amzn.to/3AhALRe
@@CapeCrawlers thank you very much
hello mate where do u get the stands and what do i type in to search these look awsome
I get them from Gazoo RC on Etsy
Thanks for the replie mate 👍
brother the honesty displayed in this video is well earned of my sub and like keep em comin bro and please maintain that transparency we need more of you guys!
Thank you, and I certainly will!
Lots of articulation isn't always a good thing.
Very true!
awesome build! I'm going 758 grams
Thank you!
I'm guessing 750g! Loving the TRX-4M content!
Glad you are enjoying it! Got lots more coming!
@@CapeCrawlers okay thanks
@@CapeCrawlers hey btw is there a way I can make the jlu have the same wheel base as the gladiator?
836grams for the weight🤘🏻
What is the tire and wheel set up
Injora brass wheels and 64mm tires: amzn.to/3Jsb2d0
@@CapeCrawlers thank you also what shocks are you running wanting to do a similar set up love the amount of flex with the long travel it has
Congrats on having a very capable trx4m. I can't get mine to perform as well as my scx24. I'm guessing 791 grams. Also thank you for having a real 5th wheel on the back. Cant stand to see that fake wheel cover.
Thank you! It’s very capable, but still not quite as capable as the scx24 (yet).
Check out Mofo RC, he's got aluminum ones
I enjoyed the video!
Glad to hear! Thanks for watching.
Get rid of that rear spare. Get yourself a 3D front bumper. I have one and it never interferes with the front tires. It is about an inch long, dead center of the front of the truck...
nice job
What oil weight are you using ? going to try that trick
Traxxas 20wt
Thanks, just ordered them waiting on the carbon fiber frame rails .
im also from cape cod, i live in harwich. where do you go crawling on cape? Lets Crawl sometime
Aye I am in Hyannis! I like to go to a spot behind BJ's in Hyannis or behind the Coca Cola bottling plant in Sandwich.
I wanna see a comparison between this Bronco & Axial's 24 Bronco, performance wise. 🤔 Traxxas' looks cool, but Axial's looks you could do WAY more than Traxxas', on this 24 scale. If I were to get another 24, I'd probably go Axial.
I did a stock for stock comparison video a while back. I am going to do a modified version soon!
@@CapeCrawlers Sweet!
Great Job,
Amazing channel, I always look forward to your next adventure.
Keep up the great work!
Asplenia.
Thanks for watching!
Theses shocks seem to small ?
The scx24 ones were. The Losi shocks are super beefy and work great
Info on shocks please.
They are Losi mini B rear shocks all around. I got them here: amzn.to/3MPXLyq
