Hi there! I just wanted to tell you that when you share how you get through your chronic illness, it is really encouraging for me. I have been dealing with my own chronic illness, but I never really hear anyone else admit to it. You continue to prove to me that people can still be successful and productive, even if they are dealing with pain and cannot give it their 100%. Thank you again for sharing this personal part of your life. When I see you living your dream and even traveling, it gives me so much hope!! I wish you all the best. I look forward to each new video.
I’m new here and I don’t know what her chronic illness is, but so you know there are a lot of us out there. You can make anything you really want to work, even if you feel shitty a lot.
Even if all you've got for the day is 10%, you can give 100% of that 10! Nobody gets to tell you what your 100% is but you, honey. There are many of us out here that know what it's like and how frustrating it is to find new 100% of effort every day, particularly when your chronic illness is progressive and you can't keep up with your younger self. It's very refreshing to find someone who is honest, but at the same time positive about their health issues like Annika for sure!
Hey! I have a chronic illness too! Way more people than you think indeed, a lot of chronic illnesses are invisible... (currently in bed watching videos while being ill)
Helloooooo! Voting will last for about 72 hours before I announce the winner. Also youtube seems to be broken and the "i" voting cards are not showing up on computer, only on mobile. So if you can get to a mobile device, that seems to be the only way to vote right now! 😪 I shall try to hassle tech support about it! Thanks for watching & MUCH LOVE, you amazing humans 💖
Hey Annika, thanks for putting up this video! I think at 2:50 you were referring to negative space. Also, I think you forgot to put up the i-link for the vote?
Annika not only have you inspired me to learn how to embroider and upcycle clothes, you are constantly inspiring me with how strong and determined you are in the face of all the health problems you get thrown. I have a pretty mild chronic illness in comparison to you, and I really struggle some days; but to see you being open and honest about your struggles and the ways you overcome them is so empowering and lets me know that it's ok to be struggling sometimes too. Thankyou!! Also, weird but cute detail - we have the same bedspread! lol
I'll be honest: sometimes when there's the sponsor bit in a video I'll skip it, but never yours. You and -Luci-, I mean Giovanni, are too fun to watch ❤️ Is it seasonal? I mean it's nearly spring for you and autumn for me, but I've been having migraines for weeks. The my head is going to explode and also I'm going to spew kind. I hope you'll feel better soon, Annika!
Yes girl, I'm also a spoonie currently lying in bed with a virus! Thanks for sharing your chronic illness journey with us, its so easy to just hide it and pretend to people you don't have it (like I used to) but you let us know and remind us that we're not the only ones going through it, that it's nothing to be ashamed of and that we can still achieve pretty damn cool things regardless!!! Annika thanks for always inspiring me in your videos, I love being able to plan what craft project I'm going to do when I'm feeling more able and it gives me hope which is the most important thing!
Chronic migraines are the worst. Mine used to be every day before I finally got a doctor to listen to me instead of dismissing me, thankfully meds can kick it down to 1-2 a week for me. Not sure if you’ve tried it but iPhone has a “night shift” mode that can make the screen warmer tones, it really helps during migraines. It’s in settings>display and brightness
When you said, your body doesn't work right at the moment i felt that so much. I have to deal with depression since i was 14, so nearly 10 years now and this summer was one of the worst. It truely feels like my brain doesn't work right. The last weeks were really hard for me but every night i am proud of me because i stayed alive und tried my best to get throug the day. Thank you so much for charing your personal Story. It gives me so much hope. I love you! (Sorry for my bad english, i'm not a native)
I was in the end credits! Made my day! Thanks Annika. If nautical will win, I have an unfinished embroidery that I will try to finish for the challenge (and also for me lol). You are such a motivation and inspiration!
Even though it's out of necessity for you, I really like the lying down videos, it makes it feel chill and cozy and like you're hanging out with a friend :)
Thanks for the shout out. I'm literally watching UA-cam in bed with a migraine exhausted from chronic illness right now. But this video makes me want to sew so much xx
I think Halloween and Opposite would work very well together for that. Opposite can be a halloween style thing too since you can have something spoopy (cute but Spooky together).
i feel you. migraines are the worst. One thing that helped me was watching my diet. no fun, but inhad trigger foods like sugar, alcohol and cow cheese. as long as i avoided those my mirgaines were somewhat handable and set on only in times of stress (or after the stress to be exact). i hope you get better! thank you so much for sharing.
sending mental cuddles! I've got chronic illnesses and thanks to also having insomnia, i'm enjoying your video at 2:20am while my body yells at me to bloody sleep. Hope you get a good patch soon
Love these challenges! Great effort from everyone... Sorry to hear that you have been feeling quite unwell for the past month. I too struggle with a chronic illness, so I’m well aware of the routine... 💜😘💜
Hope you will feel better soon, Anika 💕 Thank you so much for all your hardwork. It inspire me a lot 💕 And thank you so much for including a pict of my upcycled dress. It makes me so happy 😭
ugh, stupid UA-cam analytics making it so I don't see this video until the latest challenge is almost over. Even though I'm subscribed. What's that about? The floral challenge was rather cute. I recently bought my first sewing machine and have bought plenty of cute cheap fabrics (gotta love when a Spotlight sale has fabric for less than $5/m). Didn't find any floral fabric I liked for cute Spring clothing though :( I did get cheap Halloween fabric the other week. I appreciate how candid you are about your struggles with chronic health issues. I've got low iron (again) and between that and the weather I've been super sleepy. Which is why I'm watching UA-cam videos instead of ironing fabric and sewing a makeshift skirt for an infinity dress. Usually I do a circle skirt, but I just want to sew a straight line and use elastics as a drawstring to make a gathered skirt. Save my fighting for the straps, which will be made of knit jersey fabric so I'll need to starch and hem them in the hopes they won't completely roll up on themselves when I get to wear them.
8:45 lol me, literally in bed right now. I really love these videos, I made an A line skirt this Summer and it has the cuttest pattern and color but I'm too shy to post the things I make online because I kinda feel like they're not good enough. One day I will feel confident!! I like 3 and 5 the most!
Normally I would vote for scraps because I LOVE working with scraps but NAUTICAL seems like such an inspiring theme! Maybe I'll try making something both nautical and scrappy? A patchwork whale plushie? A patched boat applique? An octopus holding eight different sewing projects? Who knows!
Ahh I relate so hard at the minute 💜I've literally been getting migraines every day the past few weeks too. I do get them a lot anyway as they're hereditary for me but never this regularly and its just made me feel so useless and unproductive bc I can't concentrate on anything when its that bad 🙃
You inspired me to thrift my own wardrobe... I gave so much away to ther people and I am waiting for an exchange party. I am so much happier witg my wardrobe now thank you. Also I have been thinking about making my own clothes... Do you have any beginner tips?
That's so great to hear!! Also I have a beginner's sewing playlist if you go to my main channel page, and a beginner's sewing resource/guide on my website annikavictoria.com :)
omg! so mad that youtube did not notify of your video! i am so late! love your commercial .... too hilarrious and i hope you start feeling better. I too have chronic illness and i feel your pain!
the dollar pinned to the girl's chest is a New Orleans tradition! you pin a dollar to your chest on your birthday, and all day/night people come up and add money to your pin so you make a birthday profit :)
Im sad i didnt get around to make/ post anything for the last challenge, but sudden life changes and holiday and chronic illness got in the way... oh well, my idea for MTT5 works for MTT6 too yay! And sewing something finally!
I vote for scrap fabrics as our next theme because everyone in these challenges are always so creative and amazing so I sorta wanna see how everyone else will handle that. Maybe a sally-esque dress from the nightmare before christmas, a patchwork teddy bear, or some funky avant garde t shirt design? there are so many possibilities! Plus, the video that got me hooked onto your channel is your style pile vids as well as the scrap cloth vids so i'm sorta sentimental?biased? Hopeful? Idk what the right word is but tbh I just wanna see more people use up their scraps in creative ways
Great entries! Positive healing energy sent your way my dear. I totally get it I'm down and out chronic illness today and I tripped and fell at work my eye and left side of my face is all black and blue and messed up. LOL 🤪😜😅😂🤣It could be worse, at least I have you to bring me a smile and brighten up my day. I shared this video. Be well Namaste.💜💛🧡🧶🧵
*Thaaaank you for chosing to put up a second theme if halloween wins!* I have just followed you a couple weeks and love your personality and content (even though I dont sew anymore since 10 years or so). Have watched a lot of your old videos and when I saw one of these theme ones I really felt I wanted to try join, and DO something next time I see you put up a theme and finally I will be in time to catch the next theme challenge :) I promise to do SOMETHING to join it even though I can’t use my oooold Husqvarna machine without getting it fixed first (got it for my hmm 12th or 13th birthday, used it for years but now I am 30+ and it’s been sittning in dirt in the attic since I last moved almost ten years ago). I have some thread, some fabric and ONE ok needle (cannot find my stash). Have only been sewing heating pillows the last couple of years. (Not sure what they are called in english, but u know? A ”pillow” of any shape you like, filled with rice or some other suitable grains, to warm up in the microwave to relieve muscle pain, menstruation cramps etc). Sorry for such a long comment. Again: I LOVE how you are. I am not familiar with many youtubers since I mostly just listen to music here. But it is quite scary that it seems like most youtubers are not... very good role models. And as I have understood many of the ”worst” youtube personalitys have SO YOUNG followers. I cannot imagine how that effects Young teens and pre-teens. When I was that age youtube did not exist 🤷🏻♂️ Hope you feel better soon. I know you have chronic illness(es), so do I. It really sucks when some of the ”extra” kinks with ones health kicks in ❤️
So hoping that nautical wins it be the cutest. Plus I might motivate me to finish the scrap fabric fishy covers for my heating pad. #thankschronicillness
Seconded. I literally disagreed out loud with video-Annika about that. We do care. So sorry to hear you are not feeling all too well. :( Get better soon!

Really loving this angle we've done the last few make thrift tries, it's good for your migraine, and a fun like hangin out with your buddy angle
The two themed are!! Nautical/sea creatures and fabric scraps!!! (They are so close haha)
Nautical /Sea creatures ❣

Hey Annika, thanks for putting up this video! I think at 2:50 you were referring to negative space. Also, I think you forgot to put up the i-link for the vote?
@@a.parker7362 you can only vote via mobile phone i dont know why but it is so XD
@@XxXNightcoreQueenXxX for some reason it's only working on mobile phone (thanks UA-cam... sigh)
And how about "peak granny chic" as the next challenge!
Iduna Black yess!!
Ooh I like that! Although my clothes are more “do you work with children?”
"Leaving the shape that you want blank" is called negative space! Because its space that has nothing in it 😊
Pinwhale corduroy is the word you are looking for.
I appreciate the shout out to us bed prone chronic illness sufferers. I needed that after some bad new from the doctor today. Hugs for you as well 😊
(hand raised) chronic illness lying in bed watching UA-cam videos and I have a migraine today so I feel ya.

Ok so 1, super jazzed about the next themes, 2 THANK YOU FOR PUTTING MY SHORTs IN THE VIDEO OMG and 3 respect to you for being an absolute trooper
Lots of love from another chronic illness sufferer watching your videos from bed. Lots of love for all of us that live with more will than strength.
Luci is such a good sport for your ad reads, you really got a good one
Annika the confidence I get from you to actually sew againnn is exciting I’m going to sew my own cosplay!!

This is a great concept for a challenge. I wish I'd seen it sooner. Loved your Tilly pinafore it really suits you.
Thanks so much for including my dress in this amazing group of floral makes! 💕
I finally have a new sewing machine! So hopefully I can finally find the motivation (and remember) to participate this time!
Aa someone with a chronic disease and migraines I admire you, I hope the pain pass. You are awesome
I had to comment again just to say how much I love you Super Sewist sequences. So funny and creative~

God Bless you, Annika, hope you feel better soon. You are amazing! Thanks for the creativity, sharing, and inspiration.
Hugs..I too have headaches and Fibromyalgia and learning to sew. I totally understand being bed ridden it's not fun, so again gentle loving hugs.
we are matching while i watch this! Im wearing a pink flowery shirt under a black overall dress! How lovely!

Thanks for trying your best even though you're unwell. Just inspired to get out of bed lol
During the scroll through I saw some of my makes. Thank you for making my day Annika! ❤️❤️❤️
For migraines have you tried peppermint and/or feverfew? Tinctures are the most potent of the preparations but tea is good too.
What an accurate moral alignment for the Super Sewist!

caught between nautical bc its my favorite and fabric scraps bc my mum has sooooo many
there i am at 12:03 !! also the person who made a top from those velour grandma pants is a sewing wizard its gorgeous omg
OMG the bag and the fabric.

10/10 acting Luci, hehe!
With Halloween I will say it could be called "Spooky" or "Gothic" as well.
omg no, all of these themes speak to me as a gothy marine science student cosplayer! HOW DO I CHOOSE?!?!?!?!?!
That feel when you catch a glimpse your thing while Annika is scrolling through the hashtag and get really excited that you were briefly in the video.
I couldn't help my excitement and exclaimed YAY when I saw the title of the video✨ I *love* make thrift try! ❤️❤️
I hope someone ends up making a Sally inspired dress if we get the halloween or the fabric scrap themes 💛
I already was seriously considering it
Same
Watch Rachel Maksy's video on making a Sally Disney-Bound! It's so good! ua-cam.com/video/WnNlX5_KPXs/v-deo.html
Wow good on you for getting dressed and putting makeup on, I'm just a mess in my pj's under a duvet 😁
I love your skits! Hope you feel better soon! ❤️
I hope we do Halloween and Nautical because I don't have enough fabric scraps yet!!!
the dollar pinned to the girl's chest is a New Orleans tradition! you pin a dollar to your chest on your birthday, and all day/night people come up and add money to your pin so you make a birthday profit :)
Oh cool!!
Why are ur ads so entertaining lmao
“Oh no my pants are ripped”
“Are you ok?? Are you breathing???”
first time taking part in this challenge, so glad you like it 🤗
can't wait for the next one!
Thank you for including my set!!! I love your channel so much!
I’m excited for the next challenge! As you were scrolling I saw my pinafore I made in there 💕💕
Love the pinafore dress you made !
I adore how seamlessly you incorporate your sponsorships 😂❤️ (pun intended)
Why are you telling me this?
So you can fix your own dang pants next time!
While Halloween is my favorite holiday ever lol I had to choose opposites! I would love to try to make a leather and lace button down crop top shirt!
Im sad i didnt get around to make/ post anything for the last challenge, but sudden life changes and holiday and chronic illness got in the way... oh well, my idea for MTT5 works for MTT6 too yay! And sewing something finally!
I've already chosen what I would make for each one. so cant wait for the announcement.
You're looking for "negative space" when talking about the embroidery.
I had to vote for Nautical but I hope to see Fabric Scraps and Opposites on the future!
I feel the same! Maybe you can combine them and do like a scrappy applique of an anchor in a color opposite of whatever it's on?
All of these design are amazing!
Granny chic is best aesthetic. Love for grandmas everywhere. Golden girls?
Literally me right now. I feel you girl.
I'm all here for every theme there ajdhajfjs
I wish you a good recovery from the migraine from one chronically I'll sewing enthusiast to the other :D
I lllooooove the vintage shorts!!! Person who made them please share your sewing pattern????
I love your videos, hope the migraines get better x
What is it with this month and migraines? I've had one pretty much every day too.
We missed you annika💕💕
i love Chaotic Good Annika!
There's no i popping up for me so I can't vote :( I'm on pc, usually it just pops up
So weird, it only seems to be working on mobile right now- darn it, UA-cam! *shakes fist*
I cant see it either. I have refreshed the video a few times, and nothing
@@AnnikaVictoria24 It works now! I voted sea creatures because I have a very fitting project in mind... :)
would japanese sailor uniforms qualify for naval theme? a little far-fetched but i wanted to make one for ages and i need that motivation
definitely!
I've had a migraine for the last week so same babes xx the pain meds are starting to make me sick too now
Great entries! Positive healing energy sent your way my dear. I have just followed you a couple weeks and love your personality and content (even though I dont sew anymore since 10 years or so).

I'm already in the middle of working on a quilt that uses some fabric scraps so it would be nice if it wins

It's true!
