I believe it was Jay Leno who said "Ferrari guys brag about how low their mileage is, Porsche drivers brag about how HIGH their mileage is." Cool video.

I just hit 250,150 miles on my 1999 911 996 C4 - all weather, daily driver and I love it.

Bought a 2000 C2 last July for my 62nd birthday. I have put 8000 miles on her so far, had to put tires on it and just the standard maintenance. She has almost 100K miles now, uses no oil (I've never had a car that the oil stayed so clean in) and is solid and a pure joy to drive. I spent the last 3 months seeking out twisty back roads all over CA, NV, UT, CO, NM and AZ. What a wonderful machine, to me the car seems to have a soul and makes me feel like young again.

My 2002 996 has turned 172k with regular use - mainly high speed motorway - servicing and regular oil changes . Great cars

Swaff is an awesome guy. I met him in college and he made some music videos with my yellow Gallardo. So great to see him out enjoying this car. Sounds like a better experience than I had with the Ruf.

That's awesome! I love hearing about people who aren't afraid to rack up the miles or go on crazy trips! They're made to be driven!

2000 996, just crossed 85k miles. Bought in 2018 at 74k miles. Had her serviced at the Porsche dealer when I decided to turn her into a daily driver- I swear the car drives better now that I put 64 miles on her every work day!

A guy local to me just rolled 100k in his Gallardo Superleggera. He told me he dailys it, even through the winter. The car screams, and I remember the summer he got it, I would always spot him ripping down some of the local back roads near me. If anyone has heard of the CF Charities show, the owner of the superleggera is actually the man who started the entire event, Larry. Love seeing cars rack up crazy "unheard of" mileage!

I know all about the IMS bearing! My 2004 996 4S went on me going onto a dual carriageway. Long story short I should of researcherd the bearing issue first. Over £12,000 pounds later and many trips on a recovery vehicle before it got to its place of restoration. The car is back to new, fully rebuilt engine it drives like an absolute dream. However any one purchasing a 996 get the IMS done asap and save yourself a good amount of money! Love the content VINWiki !

I'm that kind of guy who attaches value to a car for the memories he had in it. A car is like a companion.

The M96 engine in the early cars is a 3.4 litre motor and loves to rev with great useable low down torque. Effortless overtaking and a nice surge to redline when you want to give it a hiding.

Heck Yeah! I'm driving the piss out of mine too. Keep it serviced, no sweat. Had the clutch, Ims, and rear seal replaced straight away. Drive it like you stole it.

50 minutes with a 10 minute break is pretty cool as an idea. Especially when you have craftsmen doing that kind of work.

A loyal car enthusiast is in the house! He's not somebody that needs a new supercar every two minutes for attention! Wonderful.
