- Can this tamper really maintains 30 pounds? Is useful?
This review video display its inner structure and explain its principle of constant pressure.
Its key feature lies in its ability to produce a ringing sound and activate the spring mechanism automatically when applying any amount of force up to 30 pounds.
The sound serves as an indicator of reaching the 30-pound mark, there by assisting in maintaining the stability of espresso flavor. It effectively mitigates the impact of force intensity on the taste of each espresso shot.
Inner structure: Three different springs, and the third spring is a force release
Specification: 51mm / 53.35mm / 58.35mm
Range of use: Coffee powder needs to be in the basket capacity of plus or minus 1g.
This tamper can reach a maximum depth of 16mm.

I have that product. It is very simple . It is just makes noise when you push over 15kg . It doesn't have any actual tamper power cut etc. It is clever .

I suggest that you try to tighten the top cover first, it may be the screw loose. If it still does not work, you can unscrew the top cover to determine whether there is a problem with the parts inside.
I have the 58mm one. Mine intermittently stops providing audio feedback (clicking). I have to disassemble and re-assemble. Any potential causes and permanent solutions?

if i use a bigger basket , like 22 g basket but i use only 15 g coffee, that means there will be a bigger gap between top of basket and coffee bed, will this tamper still works? what is the travel distance for this tamper?
It reachs a maximum depth of 16mm.
Coffee powder needs to be in the basket capacity of plus or minus 1g（If you use a 22g basket, need to use 21-23g of powder）
I love this tamper but there is one issue, if I use 18g of coffee in 20g basket and tamper won’t reach the coffee and won’t press it.
It depends on the actual situation.Maybe it can work.You also can add 1g coffee powder or change to 18g basket. Now there are more discounts during Amaozn‘ prime day
