What are the odds that this giant screaming for help didn't know Saul well enough to know about his condition, thus the reason why he's panicking. Someone on Elbaf, likely has a special treatment for him and he didn't get that treatment in time, so he fell into petrification. Now someone has to snap him out of it.

About Loki criticizing Shanks, I'm pretty sure it's not due to experience, but only malice towards Luffy. The reason I think this way is due to his reaction on panel. Right after asking Luffy if he knows him, he has a reaction with a "nyari" onomatopoeia, which basically means an evil grin or sneer.
The Marines have the gum-gum fruit knowing exactly what it is, Shanks for Elbaf steals it... he was always going to return it to Elbaf so that maybe Loki could have it... but then Luffy ate it so he had no choice but to gamble on Luffy... which ruins any plans he HAD with Loki...and then they had an argument. Also I'd say Lola running out his the marriage happened shortly before he was chained.
I believe that the special bounty is almost certainly non given by shanks suggestion. He went to the gorosei 2 years ago, while loki has been inprisoned from 6 years. What we know really happened with loki's life is that he unalived his father (but elbaf is closed off as wano, so the info should not have gone out) and that he was promised to lola. The latter would be the best time to go out of elbaph and get recognized. Maybe he destroyed a couple of big mom's islands and that's how he got the bounty. This would be interesting because that would be his powerlevel before fruit

For the Giants, the void century was only around 3 generations ago, I think Elbaf's standing with the WG right now could go 3 ways: 1-Elbaf Kings kept an agreement to each mind their own business with the WG, Loki killing the king would make the government cautious and a special bounty was given. 2-Cold War scenario, they each have spies planted (E.g. Mother Carmel and giants in the marine). Loki kills the king and obtains the DF passed down giant royalty then gets bounty. 3-Officially at war, as you said, Elbaf Kings get their bounties Loki could've gotten the bounty due to the DF he ate, killing the King or both. (Maybe like an Eren Yaeger situation, that power must not be in the wrong hands) Actually while typing this out.....What if Loki is the other Sovereign that must meet Shirahoshi?

Luffy is being consistent when he stands up for Shanks with Loki. Luffy wasn't standing up for his own reputation, but the reputation of one of his friends. This is exactly what Shanks taught Luffy as a child regarding the incident with Higuma.
There is also the fact that Loki is said to have Killed his dad, that has to be taken into account when investigating the character. That will be a point to be kept in mind when thinking of Shank's involvement. (so much detail...).
I think the point of the original scene with Higuma is that Shanks was there and the insults were directed at him. So he dont care "You can make fun of me and even throw sake over my head and I´ll just laugh it off. But if you mess with my friends I wont forgive you" In the case with Loki Shanks isnt there and Loki is running his mouth at a friend of Luffy so its his job to stand up for him
I personally believe that just like Luffy has this aura that passively pulls people to his side, Loki has a similar effect on people that exhibits their negative emotions or flaws such that he can take advantage of them. It's effect might be more random/chaotic and could be part of the devil fruit or a form of haki but that matters less. This is probably Loki's 'Curse' as it's a double edged sword, people don't behave normally/expectedly around him. This would explain why Luffy was the only one "hearing" Loki and why he was angered so rapidly, but also there could have been a hint of truth to Loki's statement about Shanks. He could have used a remote haki blast like on Green Bull to stay outside the range of Loki's aura.

It was definitely a setup chapter but it did help with getting an idea for the kind of person Loki is, and yeah he's a schemer, but he drastically underestimates who he's talking to XD I like how this level is the 'First World', blending Helheim and Niflheim from myth together, though if he befriended these beasts as a child then this isn't the first time he was sent here. But it too gave me Impel Down vibes too for Level 4, maybe similar inspirations? Luffy befriending the beasts instantly was funny though. An interesting thing is that I don't actually see Luffy freeing Loki, especially with the crew heading to the village and friends of Luffy vouching against him. Buuuuuut, I can think of another pirate who'd take the deal of freeing him to take out a pirate crew: Eustass Kid. This First World was a place they put prisoners after all, humans, creatures and giants alike. The special bounty could be that it's not a Government-issued bounty, but instead a bounty local to Elbaf instead? Giants aren't aligned with the WG at all, thus why CP0 set up a human trafficking ring in there with Mother Carmel, so the WG could just class all Giants as enemies. I'm more leaning to it being a local bounty atm though. The rest of the crew will likely reach the village but whether or not they cause trouble remains to be seen, Usopp may have a moment to appeal to the giants since he did advise Zoro against fighting when on the bridge. Treasure Tree Adam confirmation makes me feel like Franky may have a role too, it's wood that made the Sunny so maybe the ship will get upgraded? Chopper may get some shine to help Saul, but either way I hope Robin gets to have a happy moment with him, she's so excited to see him!
Dolfomingo was also a sort of spoiled brat, he was devious and fantastic. But Loki is starting out strong, I'm so excited to see how Oda uses him and seeing how capable will he be, hopefully he's cleaver and powerful in his own way.

I had not considered Loki being the one that Shanks was talking to the Gorosei about but that is a very interesting possibility to consider. Oda if you deprive us of the Robin Saul reunion now I promise you I will cry. Something that I just thought of as I was typing this, but Oda has had Luffy use g4 for one quick attack basically every other chapter since the group woke up in Road's Lego castle. The Japanese translator from Dawn Dusk channel pointed out that the term coward Loki used can be used of some one indecive, not just some one acting fearful or unfair. It opens other interpretations of Loki's and Shanks's possible relationship. The mountain gods/kings and island kings animal connections are interesting. In the Journey to west the demons are associated with animals, Ox king and so on. And in One Piece we have Lunarians as the gods living on the Redline and devils. Don't know where this leads, but it is very curious. And then Joyboy the leader of animals.
I think that the majority the crew would second guess before believing that Luffy is a coward, that would be the major difference compared to Oden. Robin and Frank are smart, Jinbei, Brook, Nami and Sanji have an immense faith in Luffy, Ussop can see through lies, Chopper would take some time to understand, but Zoro is the real problem in this scenario. Amazon Lily is named after Nefertari Lily. Lily was the first empress. Lily was in love with Joyboy. Boa Hancock was an Easter egg for us to understand Joyboy's and Lily's relationship.
Boa was a shichibukai, Lily was also in good standing with the WG. She fooled Imu for 800 years and betrayed the world Government by helping Joy Boy but convinced the WG that it was an accident
Shanks anger at the world is the only reason he can’t be as skilled as mihawk, also the same reason he can’t properly control his haki. I think he doesn’t even bother controlling it. He just want to show how angry he is.
Cool idea. And in order for Luffy to become a great pirate as Shanks doesn't mean the title of yonko, it means protecting Shanks and loosing a hand in the process 👍

It was definitely a setup chapter but it did help with getting an idea for the kind of person Loki is, and yeah he's a schemer, but he drastically underestimates who he's talking to XD
I like how this level is the 'First World', blending Helheim and Niflheim from myth together, though if he befriended these beasts as a child then this isn't the first time he was sent here. But it too gave me Impel Down vibes too for Level 4, maybe similar inspirations? Luffy befriending the beasts instantly was funny though.
An interesting thing is that I don't actually see Luffy freeing Loki, especially with the crew heading to the village and friends of Luffy vouching against him. Buuuuuut, I can think of another pirate who'd take the deal of freeing him to take out a pirate crew: Eustass Kid. This First World was a place they put prisoners after all, humans, creatures and giants alike.
The special bounty could be that it's not a Government-issued bounty, but instead a bounty local to Elbaf instead? Giants aren't aligned with the WG at all, thus why CP0 set up a human trafficking ring in there with Mother Carmel, so the WG could just class all Giants as enemies. I'm more leaning to it being a local bounty atm though.
The rest of the crew will likely reach the village but whether or not they cause trouble remains to be seen, Usopp may have a moment to appeal to the giants since he did advise Zoro against fighting when on the bridge. Treasure Tree Adam confirmation makes me feel like Franky may have a role too, it's wood that made the Sunny so maybe the ship will get upgraded? Chopper may get some shine to help Saul, but either way I hope Robin gets to have a happy moment with him, she's so excited to see him!

Dolfomingo was also a sort of spoiled brat, he was devious and fantastic. But Loki is starting out strong, I'm so excited to see how Oda uses him and seeing how capable will he be, hopefully he's cleaver and powerful in his own way.

The fact Luffy doesn't seem to consider Loki a threat despite his sense for these things makes you wonder. Could Loki's threats about destroying the world be empty, the bravado of essentially a petulant child/teenager?
Some things that got me thinking...Maybe Loki's current appearance could be the result of his Devil Fruit. Could Loki be the one Lurking in the Shadows (with the Underworld theme and all)? Did Luffy gave Loki a warning shot or did Loki actually avoided a point blank surprise gear 4th punch to the face while being a Devil Fruit user, Shackled with Seastone chain, blind folded for 6 years?
Somehow, it feels like Loki is making a facade and bluffing about his “bad”ness and strength
Buggy also called Shanks a coward when they were younger. It was because Shanks was not going after the One Piece. I wonder if Loki also knows about Shanks hesitating on going for it for a long time.
I believe that Prince Loki's special bounty stems from Loki having been an ultra rare rabbit from the culling tournament from God Valley and a God Knight or God Knights will come and finish the job.

I had not considered Loki being the one that Shanks was talking to the Gorosei about but that is a very interesting possibility to consider.
Oda if you deprive us of the Robin Saul reunion now I promise you I will cry.
Something that I just thought of as I was typing this, but Oda has had Luffy use g4 for one quick attack basically every other chapter since the group woke up in Road's Lego castle. I wonder if he's using this to subtly showcase just how comfortable Luffy is feeling utilizing his higher gears or haki without needing to do a full fight. Or if g4 has become what g3 has been since the start of post timeskip

The thing about this is luffy had his shanks moment with Bellamy at the bar. They called him names and him and zoro just took it and took the beating.
His devil fruit is bound to be the primary threat, whatever it is. He did at least pretty much confirm having one.

my theory is “Loki figured out something that was unfair to them (the giants) he follows the sun god so maybe something related to sun god or joey boy so loki felt rebellious and wanted to destroy the world i.e the 20 kingdoms and shanks stopped him with other giants as shanks didn’t let him to rebel and stopped him not wanting to rebel made loki call him coward”
If Loki did kill his father, there has to be more to the story.
The Japanese translator from Dawn Dusk channel pointed out that the term coward Loki used can be used of some one indecive, not just some one acting fearful or unfair. It opens other interpretations of Loki's and Shanks's possible relationship.
The mountain gods/kings and island kings animal connections are interesting. In the Journey to west the demons are associated with animals, Ox king and so on. And in One Piece we have Lunarians as the gods living on the Redline and devils. Don't know where this leads, but it is very curious. And then Joyboy the leader of animals.

I think that the majority the crew would second guess before believing that Luffy is a coward, that would be the major difference compared to Oden.
Robin and Frank are smart, Jinbei, Brook, Nami and Sanji have an immense faith in Luffy, Ussop can see through lies, Chopper would take some time to understand, but Zoro is the real problem in this scenario. You're totally right about Zoro JB, I think this plot is really possible
With Lilith, Frankie, and chopper on the island and after just seeing emet on egghead I kinda get the impression we may get a cyborg giant if Saul is in poor condition that or it’s a convenient way to have him unconscious for the straw hats time on elbaph
Maybe Luffy could be the hostage, and the crew will have like a mini Marineford, to free him.

Loki is keeping his father’s head alive in a bag he keeps in him. Like Oden kept mimirs head too silly him with the knowledge and wisdom of the cosmos. Luffy has been brainwashed and when he breaks free after he defeats Loki, his power levels will skyrocket providing him with Imutype levels of power
Loki is a trickster, but luffy and shanks have observation that tells them if the person is lying. Thats why luffy gets mad when loki said shanks is a coward(by lokis limited knowledge its truth that he is coward but in reality is shanks was waiting for the timing) loki the trickster VS GODUSSOP the liar will be the highlight of elbaph.

I also think loki has probably has never left Elbaph but I also wonder how he met Lola. did Lola and the big mom pirates come to Elbaph? Did Loki make some kind of announcement to the world he was seeking a queen and big mom sent all her daughters to Elbaph? or maybe Loki did leave the island at least once before and if he did how did he meet Lola? Im just really excited to get into the backstories of not only Loki and Harjudin but all of Elbaph! BIG STUFF

I feel like we've seen this type of "quick to anger/violence" reaction before, from people who care a lot about Shanks and do not want his name to be sullied.
Examples Yassop ending the entire Barto club (despite Shanks letting them go), Luffy (3 times now counting one with Buggy), RockStar reacting to WB's taunts....and we're probably going to be shown more instances of that be it by flashbacks of the Red-Haired crew's creation or Luffy not holding back against a freed Loki

Couple things.
There was likely a Road Poneglyph there on Elbaph, but Big Mom likely stole it because hers was moved into that storage room.(The one from Fishman is with the Man Marked by Flames)
If the animals/gasmask guys know of Shanks haki, he has been there more recently. Im guessing to tell Loki that Luffy was coming and test him, like Shanks just did to Barto. Though we do assume Shanks said he was hanging out with Dorry and Broggy "old friends" but could have meant Loki and whomever that silhouette. Just a thought.
Saul is weird and is probably just Oda messing with people, but my first thought went to Spandam and CP0 should be aware the Straw Hats were headed to Elbaf and know who Saul is from his father/poster.
If you're loking to a tie in to Torino Kingdom and Elbaph, I've been curious if there is some reason the Mera Mera from Ace was the giants legendary fruit. A fruit that was in a box, inside of a giant bird, and Deuce was on the island too. Be something I dont expect, but could Deuce be former Cipher Pol or the pirate who took the fruit after Loki got Harold? Might even explain the mother flame, if there is an ol father flame. I kind of think Loki is either going to be able to use his sight to make others hallucinate or make them riot or Berserk like the opposite of Belo Betty.

What if Loki was offered to Big Mom to marry Lola just to get rid of him? Similar to what Germa did with Sanji. I just find it difficult that Loki cares about marriage or actually in love with “Lola.”

Loki has the actual gum gum fruit. That's why he has the special bounty and thinks he's the sun god. The family passed it down hoping to awaken it but it's the wrong fruit
Love the review as always. I think it would be interesting if luffy goes gear 5 and lets the haki flow. Hajrudin would sense it being they are on the same level? I know it’s a big level area but still think it could be possible
I think Loki called shanks a coward because he refused to fight with him. They both hate the world but only one them know nothing will change without some events happening first.
I think the hammer behind loki maybe the final poneglyph, luffy may've heard it not loki, with voat like roger, not obs haki, or else zoro/sanji would say something?

i don’t think loki is weaker than luffy, it took the entire giant force to take him down and he had to be tied to the Adam tree, which a ridiculous amount of sea chains. i feel once he’s freed his aura will skyrocket

Shanks is a coward because this is war born country Elbaf. They want to fight the war that shanks is stopping. I also think that shanks swapped the real gomu-gomu with the sun god fruit that Elbaf would pass down. Hence the previous joy boys giant straw hat. And since Loki stole the “sun-god fruit” shanks was like “I can’t let Loki know that he isn’t the sun god, better go lock him up so I can finess this sun-god fruit and fool the giants”
