I wear Birkenstocks. I have a black, brown and dark green pair. Love to wear it during summer. My feet are so relaxed. I also have a lot of Ecco shoes, too. They are stylish and comfortable to wear.
Birkis can be cute. I admit Arizona is not fashionable. Now days they make many colors, prints, smaller straps, patents and different styles .The cork molds to your unique foot for a custom fit. They can be resoled for many more years of wear thus environmentally friendly.
Birkenstocks are footware of farmers !!!!
As a shoe lady I enjoyed so much this, dear Marie-Anne! Love heels and flats for me and all your shoes are perfectly chosen for a summer capsule wardrobe. My big favourites are loafers, ballet flats, sneakers and Mary Janes. Loved your outfit, you look stunning in that shade of pink and your pink Mary Janes are to die for! Merci 💕

I’m surprised no one mentioned Ecco shoes. Not all are stylish though but boy are they comfortable.
@@sheilawhitemoore255 - Oh, I have several pair of Ecco shoes/ankle boots. LOVE them. Only learned about them a year ago.
I never see Ecco shoes recommended on any sights for comfortable shoes. I’m glad you discovered them too.
Platform sandals work with my short stocky legs. Flats dont flatter me. Heels give my feet a Miss Piggy look. But platforms help my feet and ankles look much better.
Merci Marie-Anne, another great video. Yes you have to love your shoes and you have so many lovely shoes. Those Clark's shoes look super comfy. I don't like mules, I need traps to hold them in my feet, no slipping. I've been wearing a lot my black sandals which have some silver decoration on top, they are leather and the bottom is real rubber with about 2 cm vedge, Comfortable and even though black it doesn't look bad with dresses, skirts and jeans. I wear loafers and ballet flats, too. I'm not a lover of pink color but on you it looks fantastic.Can't walk on high heels any more but I'm okay with it, something flatter is much more convenient anyway. Loved the topic. Birkenstocks are the best
NO ONE could ever make me wear Birkenstocks EVER! After watching some of your videos, I've since ordered several pair of summer shoes and sandals, shoes of different styles and looking forward to them being delivered!!!! Your silver loafers - OMG, back in the 90s, I had a pair of silver lame' snakeskin loafers that were so hot with bluejeans and with a pair of emerald green gauze harem pants. I wore them out, bought another pair and wore them out, too. Thank you for pointing out the fisherman-style sandals. I ordered a pair in white and will later order a pair in tan (found a brand that offers them with a woven leather front). Love the wedges you showed - actually, I used to wear them all the time back in the 70s, 80s & 90s! The Cherokee brand was hot back in the day. They don't go out of style. Those coral mules you have! I'm on the hunt for a pair!!!! I'm not into the sneakers for myself, but that's OK. Like many others, I have a passion for shoes, but a much bigger passion for handbags. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE learning from you, Marie-Anne!

Hello Marie-Anne. As a teenager in the late 1960's, I also had a pair of orange colored shoes. A small heel that was comfortable for me as a young lady. I'll keep watching your videos. They are so important about information to help us ladies now in our 60's. Be well!

Your pink shoes...YES!!! No Birkenstocks! I am 75 with a husband with dementia. It's important to me to be comfortable but look good. He even still likes it when I look good! Life is challenging so to look as good as possible is one of those things that help brighten the world!

Another fabulous video Marie-Anne!🤗 I love love love shoes, sandals and boots (I have too many really!) My tip for ballet flats / loafers etc, that give you blisters is to rub the back of the shoe, where it rubs your heel, with a bar of soap, you can use liquid soap too but it's a bit messy! And the hard soap is better and it makes your shoes smell lovely (especially lavender soap!). I always have metallic summer sandals they go with everything and look soooo cute! Hope this helps! Gladiator sandals are my favourites when I can find them..esp with less than a 2" heel, and most of the foot covered. I have NEVER nor would I EVER wear Birkenstocks..

I love your pink shoes Marie-Anne! I also love espidrills. Living in the Pacific Northwst of the US, by water, I am very fond of nautical looking outfits for summer. What no Birkenstocks? They remind me of being a young woman living in San Fransico in the era of the Flower Children..... I hear you saying, "That is my point," lol. I promise never to wear them if I come to France! At least not in Normandy! Interesting to learn from your previous video that rice is often served with salmon, I will have to try that.

Espadrilles ("alpargatas" in Spanish) are a versatile must for summers in Spain!🧡
Sorry, I missed your shoe event. I love footwear (shoes/sandals) more than any other part of my wardrobe. I walk 2-3 miles in NYC (1 mile=20 blocks) in 2.75-3 inch thick heels usually or narrower 2 inch heels or slides/mules. I love wedges, T-straps or 2 straps across. I am crazy about oxfords ( own several pairs; always change the color of the laces) & loafers all year. My favorite shoes are a pair of low heeled (1.5 inches) black suede Chanels with a round black patent toe. They're tied with black suede laces which have a leather piece to cover the laces. There are 3 pearl snap buttons to snap the leather piece to the shoe. They are really spats -- my dream. I wear alot of metallics and sandals in various colors as well as animal print sandals/shoes. For an outfit (skirt+top, belt/slacks+top+blazer/dress+belt), I match something non-traditional or classy -- depending on my mood & where I'm going.
I don't own crocs, birkenstocks or sneakers in many colors. I only wear white leather New Balance because I have custom-made orthotics. As a child ballerina, I developed a high
arch. Consequently, even my slippers have a 2 inch wedge. I own flip flops with a 0.5 inch wedge. If they were completely flat, I wouldn't be able to wear them. Fortunately, I don't have wide feet, thick ankles or bunions, hammerhead toes, etc. which helps me in selecting my shoes.
Women should wear whatever they feel comfortable in. Only Queen Elizabeth II had on staff a woman whose job it was to break in the Queen's new shoes. She even hets a pension. The Queen had to walk & stand alot -- she needed comfortable footwear. if your feet hurt, find something that is comfortable and -- if possible -- fashionable.
Bought my first pair of Sezane pumps in gold with a thick heel -- they're very comfortable & will buy others.

I was out shopping today and you were on my mind! I found myself picking things up and hearing "No Kya!" in my ear in a soft, French accent. They would go back on the rack. I also started noticing women around me wearing clothes that were just too young for them, and despite feeling judgy, I took it on board. It's so funny how you're in my head!

I love espadrilles in Summer, they are breathable and comfortable , for elegant and casual wardrobe in summer! As I work in sales, in a very conservative environment , so espadrilles are the best solution !

Flat sandals are very nice. I would have to look for some without a strap that fits exactly at the ankle, as this accentuates my curvy calves. So the strap would have to sit slightly further down over the top of my foot (if that makes sense).

LOVE all the shoes! I'm a shoe fanatic, but alas, m choices are becoming more and more limited. But inevitably, I find 1-2 favorite pair that I wear constantly throughout the summer! My feet swell during the day, 😫so my choices get more and more limited. And no more heels for me (I tripped and fell wearing heels, so 'non,' no more heels for moi! So I constantly seek out cute flats, boots and sandals where I can.

My nephew is a podiatrist and he said Birkenstocks were the worst shoe available because they offer very little support. As a side note, he said the best shoes were slingbacks, especially those with a peep toe because the whole foot is supported and the peep toe allows the entire foot to breathe.
That’s interesting. I bought original Birkenstock sandals for ONLY around the house while I was recovering from a heel injury. Even with the adjustable straps I felt they were too wide. My heel settled into the cork and felt good. I would never wear them in public. 🌼🦋🌺

I have a pair of 20year old German clogs bought in a sale - I have worn them to destruction (now only about the house as not fit to be seen in public) I have bad scarring on my feet so resist any thing open toed ( though I used to love high heeled strappy sandals) and I can’t wear anything totally flat (thanks to short Achilles tendon - from years of wearing high heels. My “perfect” summer shoes have about 1 inch heels.
Vionics shoes; can wear inside and outside and still return if hurt feet. I have problem feet and found out about being able to wear and still return. Great video! I found Vionics from you. Marie-Anne, thank you 😊

My Vionic black leather loafers with slight lug sole took me around The Cotswolds last winter (along with my Orthofeet booties; awesomely warm and comfy).

Thanks for your video. I do wear Berkinstocks because I need the arch support. I do not wear them out too much unless I am doing alot of walking. I cannot wear mules of any kind because I need more support to hold the sandal/shoe on my foot. As far as heels go I am now wearing heel that is less than 2 inches or less than 5cm. It is very hard to find this kind of heel especially in a wide fitting. The Clarks you showed look wonderful. I will have to look for them. I need to find a pair of black heels for winter.

Hi Marie-Anne! I love shoes, but I have a big foot for a woman (12 US), so I avoid pointed-toe shoes. I also have back problems, so I can’t wear heels higher than 2 inches. I DO have a variety of shoes, but want to purchase some nicer, dressier ones. I LOVE Clarks shoes because they fit me right out of the box and I don’t have to break them in.

My favorite shoes for everyday are mid-height, block-heels. The extra 2 to 2.75 inches of height gives me confidence, but they are very comfortable, too, and fine for a normal day’s walking. For work around the house, I wear sneakers, of course. I just don’t like the way I look as much in complete flats and I don’t think they’re as comfy as at least a 1-inch heel. I won’t be wearing sneakers with my skirts and dresses, my daily usual outfit. Women ever wears high, stiletto heels here in San Francisco, and haven’t for four decades.

I love mules,but I can't keep them on my feet.My foot slips out and the last thing I need is to trip and fall.Maybe,because my feet are narrow.

I have had a bad knee injury last year and sprained a ligament. I really can't wear heels anymore. I need a comfort shoe...slight lift of maybe an inch. Wish I could wear sexy shoes...but sadly, sneakers are the best I've been able to do. Any suggestions?
Most vendors allow you to shop by heel height on-line. For some reason, though, the vast majority of summer shoes are either totally flat or 3+" tall. Search on comfort shoes.

I Love shoes but with a high arch and done ballet years ago I can't wear any type of shoes. Try to wear comfy shoes. Can't wear ballet flats always need a shoe with support.

I have a bad hammertoe on my left foot and can not wear open toe shoes which is so hard in the summer especially. I am70 and would never wear heels anymore, just not my lifestyle. I’m always looking for comfortable slip on shoes.

I miss the original espadrilles! We wore them to death in California in the 70-80s please bring back the wedge! Tom’s are so ugly!
Tom’ would be cute as an espadrille. The folded toe is cute. They get sloppy fast. I don’t like to se women nicely dressed with messy shoes. 🦋🌺💙

I have a lovely pair of Vivaia shoes in cream. They are very comfortable across the bunion area, but they caused really bad bleeding blisters in the heels. As they are made from recycled bottles, how can I soften the back band? They are long enough, in the toe box, so they are the correct size.
Same. Wore them out, too. Ripped my heels open.
I haven't found that issue Lucie - but you can try softening the heel before using them or you can buy small stick on cushions to go into the heel 😘

Those Ralph Loren black patent flats are lovely. I loathe Birkenstocks or any thick, clunky sandals.I don't see your red ballet flats? Are Vivaia shoes true to size. I want to try them, but not sure which size to order.

I can not wear birkenstocks, they hurt my (flat) feet and I think they look too bulky for my petite frame.

Yes, Birkenstocks are the worst. I have a big summer shoe collection, because you never know when fashion will change and it becomes impossible to find the kind of shoes I like, especially in the right colours. I love wedges and espadrilles.

I love Les Tropeziennes but if in London I will also buy Penelope Chilvers . Shame not a clog ‘ sabot ‘ in sight. You obviously don’t have dogs. Both company do the most stylish. Best sneakers now with some style and fun are Bimba y Lola
