Relocating a speckled rattlesnake

Scrubjay was telling me there was another snake up at the house this afternoon. Neighbors shot a rattlesnake in their yard earlier. Even knowing the scrubjay was seeing a snake, It took me awhile to find it. Speckled rattlesnakes are difficult to see. Relocated... put some ice in the barrel, because the trash barrel and the truck bed were frying hot...just keeping it cool and hydrated.... Nice snake, I wish it could have stayed, but just too dangerous to have hanging around the house. I need to fashion a hook for that paint stick to make it go a little quicker next time.

That was very interesting to watch.. I was curious as to how far out from your house you had to take him to make sure he didn't come back?
