I enjoy seeing project fails and how you work your way through them! Makes me feel not alone in having to re-pattern something 5+ times before it's right.
I just wanted to say the same thing. It is so relieving to see you fail and work through it. It gives me the feeling like it is a normal part of the process and next time this happens to me while sewing, I will be encouraged to go on and fix the problem, rather than feel upset and just leave the project. I dont see this ofthen in videos, I reaaally appreciate that you left it in for us to see! Thank you! And have a lovely Christmas!
I've never understood why I can never truly understand sewing elastic jogger/sweatpants waistbands, but seeing you struggle has been a strangely comforting experience. If a master cannot achieve it, why should a student?
Thank you for showing the difficulties you had with the sweatpants. It shows us that ,no matter how experienced you are ,you can have problems but persevere and you can solve them. The sweatpants suit looks gorgeous on you.
Hey girl and great work! I’m sorry you struggled with that waistband! It definitely could’ve been easier. Next time you could try: 1. Not making a skinny channel for the cord. You could just make one wider channel to house both the elastic AND the cord, with the cord over the elastic so that it can exit through the eyelets. You could actually fold your separate waistband piece in half with the cord and elastic inside, then sew it closed along the bottom to encase them. THEN you take that finished waistband piece and attach it to the pant. This way you don’t have to use safety pins to feed anything through the channels. 2. If you go with your original version where the waistband is part of the whole pant, you don’t have to make separate channels at all. You can actually take the elastic and stitch it right sides together at the top of the pant, stretching it to fit the wide opening. Then, fold it to the inside of the pant, which will clean finish the edge. You can cut your cord pieces to only run through the front half of the garment and you can pin the ends under the elastic to the side seams. You can then crack stitch at the side seams to both secure the cording and to keep the elastic from rolling out. The elastic inside will be exposed, but if you use a very soft elastic, it should be fine. I love your videos!
Thanks for video, pattern. What's the new camera you have and lenses if you can share information, it would be very helpful for my purchase. Have a great Christmas ✨ 💞
Hi! I love your patterns, I've bought so many on etsy :) ❤ quick question, what stitch do you use to topstitch the seams on your sewing machine? would it have to be a zig zag so that the neck/cuffs/bottom band are still stretchy?
