A bit late but after just purchasing a 2019 Allure standard length I really appreciate your videos. Sold my VW T5 as was getting too old and after lockdown to common..so looking for a better upgrade for a day van camper that is not stupidly as expensive as a Caravelle. Cheers
Great reviews Ben! I was going for a VW Caravelle and suddenly came across these Travellers. Local Peugott dealer has given me a good initial deal on the Business VIP so just deciding if I'm going to leap to the Peugeot stable!...
Thanks Ben, I've had an order since April 2017 for the Allure Long 6 Speed Auto, and hopefully will be delivered in Fe/March! Great info - keep it coming. ANDREW
Hi Ben, thank you very much for your next review! Hope the crackling noise is just a negligible problem and vanish soon... Looking forward to your next update. Jana
Someone replied on my blog with this.. confirmed with a Peugeot mechanic that it is normal and other models do the same thing. Apparently the aux heater only kicks in below 5° and if you switch off the engine before the engine temp reaches 70° (normal running is 90) the heater will crackle. It’s possible that the small amount of fuel used to run the heater hasn’t been burnt and may be passing over the hot element causing the crackle. Which would explain why if the engine gets up to temperature the heater just goes off quietly! Would like to know if anyone else can confirm this?
Hi Ben, thanks. My husband and I read through your blog yesterday so we've already read this. Our car is ordered (since August) and the manufacture still not moving. However, we will contact a friend of ours (owner of Citroen Spacetourer) and come back to you with his experience. Is the auxiliary heating optional or part of every car? By the way, thanks to your post, we've started to think about using our old car for commuting to nursery (only 2km away from our home) and using the Peugeot for farther trips...
Hi Jana - The heater is standard, the noise doesn't happen all time only when very cold. The Traveller is our only car, we use it for everything. Hope the manufacturing issues get sorted and your car delivered soon.
Thanks Ben for the info. I understand that the problem is only with the cold engine. I'll come back to you with the info from the Citroen owner. May I ask if you use your car also for very short trips?
Hi Ben, the friend of ours has a different type of aux. heating - it is powered by air (it was fixed into the car later). However, he said that it's normal for this type of heating (I mean the crackling), that more people with the same car and same heating has the same "problem"... No big news for you:( sorry!
Hi Ben, in one of your first vids you talk about how small the cup holders are and as a coffee lover I was wondering do you know if they fit a large Costa/Starbucks cups in? Thanks.
Hi, Do you have a problem with the front part of the rear parcel shelf collapsing down if the seat backs from the 3rd row are not resting against it? This is something we have found on our new Spacetourer? Thanks
if reference to my question below, to clarify, have you used this system for keeping the cabin cosy when the engine is not running or to heat the cabin before use on a frosty morning? cheers.
great reviews Ben, I pick mine up in two days, same spec as yours. I am wondering about the secondary heating and ventilation system which runs off the diesel tank, this I believe is the very same as used in small campervans to keep it cosy in the winter without the engine running, have you used it yet? and did you get the extra key fob that operates it from over half a mile away?
I don’t know why it’s fitted tbh. When the engine goes off so does there heater systems, I can only assume its for maintaining heat when in stop/start mode. I got 2 fobs, both work about 30 meters away. Enjoy the car.
Peugeot have always had a problem with there doors freezing in cold temperatures. I had a 308 and that did the same. Don't accept any excuses from them as there is no excuse for this. No other make of car suffers from this so tell them to get it sorted.
Great video...i have a question ... is there a protection on the electric doors, that for example if a child puts his hand or the hole body into the closing doors, will stop the doors....? Like in the windows ? Greeting from italy
Ben Hopkins great..Thank u Ben ... i have 3 children and we are planning to buy a Toyota Pro Ace Verso. U mentioned in the first part of your video , that u have test driven also the 1.6 l 115 hp version right ? Also a great engine ? ...
HI Ben, I was wondering about the flappy paddles. I read in the manual that you can use them even without pressing the M button on the selector panel, so you can for instance lower the gear to overtake more easily. The manual also states that this is only temporary and that the car then switches back to auto mode after a short period. Can you confirm if this is true? What is your take on the flappy padles? Do you use them?
I don’t have any complaints from my kids. We don’t have any travel related sickness from the rear most like we did in the Smax and Q7. The sheer space from the headroom and light (from the pano roof) help a lot.
It's better that some cars, remember the standard and long have fixed windows so ventilation is important (no windows, no opening sunroof). There are 6 aircraft style vents that blow a gentle breeze overhead, and 2 larger floor vents blast the back passengers when you turn up the heating/fan dials located on the roof. The controls are separate from the front.
Thanks for taking the time to analyze the Traveller. However, you give more 'erms' than Suzie Dent.
It sounds like the flexible pipe on the heater under the car. Maybe expanding with the heat once it gets up to temperature. It stops making the noise.
Thanks for sharing. Sizing up these super mpvs and your videos give great insight into owning one.
Hi Ben thanks for these reviews. Really helpfull as an traveller owner. you gave the best info on the web about the car.

Thanks for posting Ben, useful to see your blog/videos even though I'll be getting the van owner rather than the people carrier.

When is part 4 coming out? There are no other good reviews of this vehicle.
Not sure what else I can show you, the car is working fine and still moving my family all over England! If you think of anything please comment.
Ben Hopkins
Perhaps a long term review of how you and the family are getting on with the vehicle?
Pros and cons as time has passed?
get creative lol, wash it, eat crisps in it, drive it through McDonalds.... you have something good going on here, get 1000 subscribers!
other thing is you could have split your fabulous film into 12 minute lengths, for more views!
Thanks for the videos,I don't remember hearing if you you actually recommend this vehicle or not, or whether the pros outweigh the cons

I don't know, I've not tried, but I would say yes. Wont fit a tall water bottle.
Bonjour
Avez vous posé un webasto en accessoire ou c’est une pose d’origine ?
Si oui, qu’elle est la version de ce chauffage auxiliaire ?
Cordialement
Hi, how is it now going on with the exploitation of this car? any issues?

@@michaeltschaupp7199 I have the Citroen SpaceTourer now with the 120bhp engine and its works absolutely fine, no problems at all.

@@michaeltschaupp7199 It was a great car but my 2 year lease was up.

I can confirm this is true. I have only used them once during a steep hill climb in Scotland other than that I just dust them every so often ;)
Addblue over the paint, oh no. clean it very well asap - you will know soon why.
Thanks for your response. In your opinion does the lack of opening rear windows and sunroof make the passengers feel closed in or nauseated?
I don’t have any complaints from my kids. We don’t have any travel related sickness from the rear most like we did in the Smax and Q7. The sheer space from the headroom and light (from the pano roof) help a lot.
Hi Ben, can you tell me if there is a switch inside the cabin that switches off the Auto stop start feature?
Depending on the model it’s either a physical button or an option in the touch screen car settings.
How is Your fuel consumption? I have mine 130kW 2.0 disel ODO about 9200km and disel consumption arround 8 to 8.2L per 100km.
The car says about 35-40mpg.
oK I am about to buy a 2019 allure traveller; my question is what is "adblue"?
Its used by the engine to taper the emissions to acceptable levels. Google it, needs topping up every 5-12k miles.
Great! Thanks for sharing :-)
Thxs Ben!
Does it have sunroof that tilts and slides?
No - it's a fixed panoramic roof.
How is ventilation for all rear seating areas?

just tested one of these. it drives like a boat and feels cramped inside compared to its competition. heinous.
Ahh.. you need the Porsche Minibus.
@@100benih haha. went for a Trafic instead. feels better in the corners, to me at least
