I think the crank angle signal may be run through the transponder halo around the ignition barrel ? Could be why it goes back into the dash. They did have transponder igniton
Thank you so much for this video, greatly appreciate the knowledge and information regarding this swap. Thank you for touching base on that sensor that sits in the intake box. I noticed your running the mazda ac Compressor, was there anything else you kept from the mazda for accessories, such as Power steering pump or starter? I have been following your channel from the beginning, keep up the great work.
Yes I used the Mazda A/C because it still worked and I didn't want to spend the money on a Kia a/c pump. I think we had to modify a couple brackets but it wasn't to big of a deal. The alternator is kia because it has the serpentine belt pulley, I believe the alternator shafts are different sizes so you can't swop pulleys. Starter is Mazda but the Kia one is the same, I happened to replace the starter on my Mazda engine not long before this swap. This pickup doesn't have power steering which I was actually glad because I didn't have to mess with it. I also love the feel of mechanical steering so it's a win win 👍 Glad this video helps, let me know if you have any other questions Thanks for sticking around
hello farmer, highly informative video, did you use any of the 02 sensors, I did not put in my 01 fe3 motor yet. thinking about doing it today only one thing I want t know is how to measure the right distance for drilling into the gear box so I can mount the crank sensor since I don't have the tool you use to do the measuring. what is the next best way to do it.
If the red fuel pump pin 1 doesn’t work it’s a grounding issue for sure their are many ecm grounds that is a black branch of wires common ground that is critical for the triggers in the ecm to work
Hello, I didn't know there was a anti theft system? Our biggest issue was not getting the right power to the crank sensor. I believe there are some facebook groups dedicated to this swap, maybe someone there could help you out? Best of luck on your swap!
No I don't, I believe there is another video on UA-cam of a guy explaining how to do the wiring, maybe you can find more info in his video. Good luck on your project!
Thanks for the content. Doing this swap in the future, already have the engine just need to find pigtails and ecu
awesome swap

Can you please let me know what you had to do to bypass the anti theft to make it run?

Do you have a detailed color chart from kia to Mazda and where they attach.
