    I'm just going to say it without giving two sh*ts what people think. I love Padraig Harrington! Open Champion and knows how to teach. No need to go anywhere else on the internet for quick tips. You found perfection.

    Used (And passed this on) on a Golf trip last week, everyone did it, everyone had 100% record of a clean strike out of fairway bunkers. Brilliant. Thank You. 👏

    What you say about playing it simply and also not hitting the sand before the ball, makes so much sense. The number of times I have stood in a fairway bunker and my head immediately forgets it's a fairway and not greenside, automatically thinking about sand first. As you say, not often practised but should be given more consideration for the times we need it. Thanks, Padraig.

    I never thaught to grip down, thanks for the wisdom ...I get more stack and tilt like in fairway bunkers , i put more pressure on my front foot to keep my feet from rocking looking for more distance which helps me take a more controlled full swing

    Padraig - thank you very much. In a future video can you talk about rotating the forearms from - say - club parallel to club parallel - is this something that you should do?

    • @robynhopkyns6150
      @robynhopkyns6150 2 роки тому +1

      if yes - than when - 50 50 backswing foreward swing. if we delay then ... otherwise ... . I mean its a bit like the getting the wrists active stuff - awesome. but a bit more detail. i.e a late rotation might help with shallowing? maybe ??? just please discuss - hopefully the doesn't sound too stupid

    Padraig! I could tell by how much live video time you spent watching your ball flight, and how many balls you hit, that you were quite enjoying this bunker session. Had me laughing. Joking aside, I really do think there is something to talking yourself through the fundamentals out loud sometimes. Great tip within a tip. Keep up the great content! Loving it!

    Padraig, what weight distribution would you recommend for this kinda shot? Looks like you've 60% weight on your lead side at address?

    • @Micker375
      @Micker375 2 роки тому

      Let’s assume Paddy won’t respond to you Justin - you don’t want to have a steep attack angle so best to keep it 50/50 maybe 55/45 weight distribution. Paddy can respond if he disagrees 😅

    Padraig- "It's not gonna be the quality strike" then goes on to absolutely stripe one. lol

  • @method341
    @method341 2 роки тому

    The only way I've managed to get good contact out of fairways bunkers is to just do half shots and get really active with the wrists (i.e. max hinge and release). Also, better to push the ball forward like Paddy says because it's better to thin it than fat it out of a fairway bunker.

    Another nice video! But what about buried lies? Fried egg in a fairway bunker is no fun...
