I'm just going to say it without giving two sh*ts what people think. I love Padraig Harrington! Open Champion and knows how to teach. No need to go anywhere else on the internet for quick tips. You found perfection.
Used (And passed this on) on a Golf trip last week, everyone did it, everyone had 100% record of a clean strike out of fairway bunkers. Brilliant. Thank You. 👏
What you say about playing it simply and also not hitting the sand before the ball, makes so much sense. The number of times I have stood in a fairway bunker and my head immediately forgets it's a fairway and not greenside, automatically thinking about sand first. As you say, not often practised but should be given more consideration for the times we need it. Thanks, Padraig.
I never thaught to grip down, thanks for the wisdom ...I get more stack and tilt like in fairway bunkers , i put more pressure on my front foot to keep my feet from rocking looking for more distance which helps me take a more controlled full swing
Padraig - thank you very much. In a future video can you talk about rotating the forearms from - say - club parallel to club parallel - is this something that you should do?
if yes - than when - 50 50 backswing foreward swing. if we delay then ... otherwise ... . I mean its a bit like the getting the wrists active stuff - awesome. but a bit more detail. i.e a late rotation might help with shallowing? maybe ??? just please discuss - hopefully the doesn't sound too stupid
Hey Paddy thanks for the video any way you could do a video on the chipping game you use to practice around the greens I heard you talk about it in an interview and it sounds interesting.
Haha, the combination of pure skill and the almost frustrated tone in your voice, sort of “what is it you weekend warriors can’t understand?” is not only educational, it’s pure entertainment 👍😅
Padraig! I could tell by how much live video time you spent watching your ball flight, and how many balls you hit, that you were quite enjoying this bunker session. Had me laughing. Joking aside, I really do think there is something to talking yourself through the fundamentals out loud sometimes. Great tip within a tip. Keep up the great content! Loving it!
Let’s assume Paddy won’t respond to you Justin - you don’t want to have a steep attack angle so best to keep it 50/50 maybe 55/45 weight distribution. Paddy can respond if he disagrees 😅
The only way I've managed to get good contact out of fairways bunkers is to just do half shots and get really active with the wrists (i.e. max hinge and release). Also, better to push the ball forward like Paddy says because it's better to thin it than fat it out of a fairway bunker.

What a great golfer and exceptional person, thanks so much for all these lessons.
Thanks Paddy

This is absolute gold! Thank you for sharing your genius! Please keep the videos coming!
this man never hits a fat shot... to be able to do that is pure gold. I can't imagine ever being that good.
Follow his lessons, practice, believe in yourself, and you never know what you might be capable of.
Yet another brilliant video. Thanks Padraig, you are the best.

I have struggled with fairway bunker shots. This will definitely help. Thanks
Jeeezus Mary and Joseph….his ball striking is as crisp as f***!
Paddy‘s recommends are the best! Cheers!

Thank you. Your instruction helped me finally break 80; twice in the same week. Torrey Pines North 74 and Sea & Air 78!
Gold, as always. Thank you!
Great advice. Many thanks Paddy.
Thanks buddy you’re the best play well on tour
Thank you Paddy!

Hear his strike’s sound… so pure.

You’re awesome. Thank you for giving back with these great tips.
Thank you for your time and sharing your knowledge, yet again. Have a great month.
Paddy, how about taking an extra club?
Stripe show! He's just loving giving this lesson!
Beautiful strikes.
Many may not know, but the Kiawah major Phil won, Paddy finished 4th there. I am predicting Paddy wins a golf major in 2023
Paddy, really appreciate the videos. I've always been a fan but to hear/ see how you play has changed how I play.
Thank you, Paddy. I love ❤ the video.
Thank you. Great lesson
Awesome tip
I love fairway bunkers!
Strongest part of my game Padraig, years of practicing on the beach 😉
Paddy you're a legend!

Just the tip I was looking for.
Struggling with getting over severe lips.
Thanks Paddy👍
Cheers Paddy 👍👍👍

Thanks so much PH.
Padraig, what weight distribution would you recommend for this kinda shot? Looks like you've 60% weight on your lead side at address?

More on your front and feel like you're hitting a long chip
Padraig- "It's not gonna be the quality strike" then goes on to absolutely stripe one. lol

Would love to know what hitting the ball “too clean” feels like 😅
Thank you
Truth.
Another nice video! But what about buried lies? Fried egg in a fairway bunker is no fun...
