Yes you do. With both the new Traverse and the new Vertical. The new shape watches have a barometer in the back so you get all of the weather and FuseAlti features.
+Adam Rose Actually, that is not correct. The Vertical DOES NOT have storm alarm, sea level pressure and the weather trend indicator! In fact, those features aren't even listed on the suunto website
True! Correction here. Sorry guys. The baro was sold to me as giving all the outdoor features but your right. The outdoor features in the vertical have been tapered down to only include temp, tide and baro trend info. Why they would do that- I do not know.
i am thinking of buying either Suunto Traverse or Ambit vertical. can you guide me here. Traverse seems to have some additional outdoor features. i am not sure if it is worth. i also like the Amber color. i am into Hiking, Camping, backpacking, Running and cycling i do. climbing but not really a serious one. my key focus is Hiking and camping.
It sounds like you are defiantly after the Traverse. The Vertical has a lot of running and swimming performance modes and metrics that you most likely won't use. The vertical also looses the Glonass satellite connectivity, live track feature and weather trend and storm alarms that the Traverse has. You will be fine running with the Traverse. You just won't get quite as a detained breakdown of your activity as you would get with the Vertical.
Can you do you LIVE tracking with Suunto Ambit Peak 3? So other people can follow along as you do a long long run?

Adam, what is the diameter of the glass itself? I wonder if there are any screen protectors compatible with this one.
do you get storm alarm and barometric trend though? Elsewhere I'm seeing that you don't...
Is suunto traverse strap compatible with suunto ambit3 vertical body?

There is no barometric trend function on Vertical
Jan Nowak sorry yes I just the word trend when I meant just ‘barometer’. It has the barometer controlled features but not the screen that shows trend.
