Any updates on this stem? You alive😂
Mate you are so naive! anything you buy from temu or ali express is cheap fake junk that is always counterfeit! dont do it.
Didn't you noticed that you've compared a IX4AL original with an IX2AL copy? For sure there are differences, these are 2 different models...
Yep, I talk about that a few times in the video.
@@Pedalfix at 1:23 , you say that "they've taken the (loop) design from the carbon version, and copy the rest of the stem. It's missing some bolts"... No, this is wrong, they've copied at 100% the IX2AL...
@@alexdimitriou3558 Ahh yes. Thank you for your correction. I didn’t think they made a two bolt aluminium version, but they do.
Here is the product link. Now that more have sold, there are some interesting reviews. Mine still seems fine though. www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006563342244.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.65.2fd51802osVhLJ
Link to the AliExpress stem?
Even cheaper now... www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006563342244.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.65.2fd51802osVhLJ
I've got one too. Difficult to get the bars through - scratched them a little. Works fine though. Bolt torque is very low, but had no slippage.
I like the content!! Curious, How do you install the contoured bars through the fake stem (with only 2 bolts)? Is there a trick?
There is! You need to thread the bolts through the back of the stem and then slide 2 Penny’s into the gap. You wind the bolts carefully against the Penny’s to open the gap up. It’s a bit disconcerting but works.
Thank you!! Ive had one of those replica stems and didn’t know how to fit it. I’m gonna try your method!!
@@Pedalfix I tried your method, it seemed to work, but the bolts are too short, so I have ordered some longer ones. I was able to get around the bends in the drop, but not on the aero part of the bars (my bars do not have a really large aero section but do have some contours). Maybe the stem cant be used on aero bars. I am concerned that If I spread the clamp to wide it will overbend the other side of the clamp. let me know your thoughts. love your vids. maybe you could show a vid demonstrating the install.
Ahh yes, I used longer bolts that I happened to have in stock. However, I don’t think you’ll get the stem around an aero bar.
Like the content but can't subscribe until you stop using your phone for videos
It did slip a bit yesterday on a long descent when I hit a pothole in the dark. Was torqued to 3.5Nm. Have put it to 4Nm. 😬
I would be paralyzed with fear descending or racing on the Chinese stem
Great no-nonsense review. As you say, one has no idea if the Al they used is the same grade, with not a lot of material in there you would think both stems would be more fragile than a stem that weighs a lot more.. It does look like they have made a decent effort making a good stem so I would try it. Please let us know how you get on... I wouldn't trust it completely on my gravel bike, since I do silly things on that (drop offs, mtb single track), should be okay on a road bike though. Good luck
Yikes! Didn’t know they did fakes. How dangerous?!
Unknown quality. I've had good luck with heavier knock-off stems, but light-weight, idk about that 🤔
I'm quite curious about why someone would consider buying a fake Darimo stem as there are similar products in terms of price and weight in your local bike shop / internet (like the Newmen Evolution SL). Thanks for the video I'm sure it will be helpful to avoid people trying to sell you counterfeit IX2AL stems as legitimate.
Thank you for the review!! Very helpful video
can you put straps on these?
Do Wahoo cleats fit original Speedplay pedals...?
Which one is more comfortable?
They are both identical in terms of fit and comfort. I swap between them all the time and can’t tell the difference.
I'm planning to install this RSL saddle on my canyon Aeroad. Currently, i have a Selle Italia Novus boost carbon rails (Carbon + 10mm Ø7x9 mm) do you think will fit with the same seat post clamps? thanks
If you current saddle has a 10mm dimension in the rail you should be fine with this Bontrager one.
How much is the watch????????? ⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚⌚😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
That's covered in the title. Though as the watch is quite old now, you'll be able to find good deals online.
Will this give latitude /longitude coordinates?
Yes it will
Hello. Do you advise to go 1 or .5 cm on top of foot measurement?
I believe that the size guide tells you what’s size you need for you given measurement. I have used that as a dead on measurement and it works each time.
So do they run 1 size smaller than Sworks or Lake ?
@@Jahn80235 I ended up getting the tourch instead. The reviews dictated that the toe box is not roomy and even the length might be ok, there is a challenge with the shoes closing properly on the upper part of the foot. A Japanese UA-cam channel also compared the stiffness level of the sole and was below that of the tourch or Shimano. Therefore, I decided not to take. 450 dollar risk
These are just as stiff yes. That’s sort of a good thing though.
Hi there I’ve been using the Bont vapour s but found them very stiff so I went back to using my lakes but I miss the foot shape that bont offers are these new ones just as stiff..? Thanks for the review
I have the specialized pro on my other bike and I have the RSL saddle on my new bike and it’s very comfortable. thank you for taking the time to make the video .Both are comfortable.
I was wondering if the controller was included. Pretty shit one isn't as buying it alone is pretty pricey in addition to the dropper.
Unfortunately not. And you're right, it's not cheap to add on afterwards. But, for those in my situation, who are planning to use AXS shifters, one is required.
Any difference in the padding between the two?
No. It looks slightly slimmer but it's the same.
Can you please tell me how to reset the watch to factory settings and set a new one? I bought a second-hand watch and I want to adjust it according to my needs. Thank you.
The specs says, maximum rider weight is 180lbs/82kg. Although i am around 75kg and not a strong rider, any issue about the durability of the pedal? My worry is that when you start standing on it or pedaling hard like standing up and putting more pressure on it, the pedal might break? Any experience about the pedal so far?
I wouldn't worry. I'm 82 kg and have no issues with these pedals. Also with the previous generation titanium Speedplay's I've run those at 86 kg for years and years with no issues. When they state a weight limit- they assume they will be hard landings and additional loads.
hello , is there a rider weight limit ?!
Not that I am aware of, no.
Hi I was not able to open the pedal cap for servicing. Is the thread ccw or cw? I tried to open it ccw but no luck :( Thanks!
Why you want open it? I had in the past 30y plenty Look Pedals Road MTB and for few weeks those Geo City Grips on my touring bike, there was NEVER the need to service the bearings they were always really good w/o any need to service them and the Geo's are probably no different.
@brokenspine66 Hi, mine is ticking, it has a little play, I am able to feel it with my hands.
@@Hoodeene The caps should be CCW to undo on both pedals. The bearing retention nuts behind those caps should be CCW on the right pedal to undo and CW on the left pedal to undo.
Thanks i needed a proper comparison to make a decision!
Just picked one up your Review was really helpful.
And he was never heard from again lol
I'm still around
I got the anodized ones on sale - the anodizing sucks - gets scratched off easily - the gold color itself rubs off! The plate with the Bontrager logotype is the first thing to scratch off - all cosmetics, really. First clueless pedals I’ve ever had... I think the red and black would have fit the aesthetics in my yellow-orange fade procaliber... but they didn’t have them in stock and the only ones on sale were the anodized ones...
There is no barometric trend function on Vertical
Jan Nowak sorry yes I just the word trend when I meant just ‘barometer’. It has the barometer controlled features but not the screen that shows trend.
Are there more watchfaces in it, than just the digital?
No, just the digital.
@@Pedalfix thanks, ordered it!
Hi. After two weeks - can You say a thing about them? I'm ordering new SPDs now, and I'm thinking about M8000 XT or these Bontrager's Comp. Do they work well?
Sorry that I’ve still not done the follow up vid. It is coming. In short though. For MTB, especially if you are ragging it or hopping a lot- stick with Shimano.
Nice
Hey, I have a question about the traverse, i recently bought it and i noticed when i leave my traverse away from me for a couple of minutes the screen goes to some sort of standby mode, and wakes up if i move it .. is it normal ?can it be configured? cant find anything in the settings..
hm. i dislike the suunto menues. its like reading through a book everytime, very annoying. casio for example does this way better by simply pressing 1 button. if casio only had more simplistic designs.
It's unnacceptable for such a large screen not to display seconds. That's awful.
You can choose what is displayed under the time on the main screen by pressing the bottom left button. Seconds are an option, along with battery, Sunrise/sunset, altitude and barometric pressure change.
Best review in all of UA-cam. I was looking between the Garmin Fenix 3 vs this baby. I wish the sapphire variant was more readily available. Guess I'll be running a warranty backed replaceable $7 3 pack glass protector with it. It is a dream come true of just want I want with nothing more or less. What a dream of a piece at the perfect price of $250. If gladly pay $300 for sapphire but oh well I guess. Do you think it's easy to ding the glass? The indent looks pretty heavy for banging flat against door end or tree.
I wouldn't worry too much about it. Suunto uses a very hard mineral glass for the non-Saphire lenses. Mine still looks fine and I have taken no precaution with it.
Can you do you LIVE tracking with Suunto Ambit Peak 3? So other people can follow along as you do a long long run?
Any reviews that actually show the phone notifications? Cannot find anywhere
I don't see any easy way in on the back to replace the battery when it eventually wears out and dies....
CHOPPERGIRL's AIRWAR the haters is replaceable though removing the bezel from the front. But your warranty is void if you do this yourself. It can be sent off to Suunto for them to do it though. When it eventually does happen... way off in the future.
Adam, what is the diameter of the glass itself? I wonder if there are any screen protectors compatible with this one.
Is suunto traverse strap compatible with suunto ambit3 vertical body?
does the bezel get scuffed? i've seen pictures of suunto watches over several months or a year or so where it just looks so ugly coz of the bezel getting scuffed and losing the color around.
Yes it will if not looked after. It does take a while though and they are a replaceable part.
You shouldn't buy a suunto if you're worried about scruffs, it's made for rugged use.
What is the battery life?
WouterW with GPS- 10, 15 100 hours depending on the accuracy mode. 14 days with no GPS.
Could you please tell me, how accurate the watch is with the GPS sensor turned off?
It's GPS accuracy is pretty poor when the GPS is turned off.
