There are a lot of things that Lou and I are good at, but remembering to celebrate birthdays/anniversaries/holidays hmmm that part hasn't always come naturally to us. I feel like we really thrive in our daily routine, but then all of a sudden a "holiday" arrives and we're like ah we don't have any plans/gifts/etc This year when Lou turned 33 it snuck up on me and the day went by without much extra time to focus on how special Lou is in our life. So when I got the land to myself for the day while he was off editing I decided to film this video and throw him a surprise belated tiny birthday party at the shipping containers.
While he was editing this video he told me it was the best birthday present of his life :) So happy to walk through life next to this special human! Hope you enjoyed the festivities too!

Happy birthday Lou. The container home is looking so good and has evolved to be a smart and well designed space. I wondered if you have considered fitting drop down waterproof tarpaulin sheets at each end of your covered porch so as to keep out the worst of the winter rains and blown snow?

A lovely video. What is Lou’s birthday date? I’m sep 5th ! Many happy returns and an amazing accomplishment on the containers. Can’t wait to see you add the finishing touches and tell us what you have in mind next. Max loves being included and being able to contribute is really bringing on his development. The inside of your containers are beautiful. Do you plan on removing the rust on the outside of the containers and painting them in the future? Good luck with your electrical installation. Your son is adorable, he will be asking you why? before you know it.

Watch your videos, I've purchased ebooks, don't want to be negative but- Stop carrying Max so much- let his muscles and agility develop- I know his prior birth issue- but you carry WAY too much and prevent his muscle, balance, etc growth. Look at video throughout and ask does he have to be held at this moment and you will see what I see. Happy Birthday Lou- you are an amazing builder!
