I actually enjoy Dio more because of part 6, in part 3 his goals seemed to be the stereotypical Shonen villian motivation of WORLD DOMINATION, and killing the Jostars, but, in part 6 we see a more philosophical side to him, we see that he can view some people (or more so only Pucci) as an equal and not just another servant, we see that he had a goal that wasn't entirely selfish. (I heard we get more of that in the Over Heaven light novel, but, I haven't read that yet)
Me too and I absolutely agree with you because also part 6 is the only part that shows DIO's human side for someone else like Pucci which is something that could not happen with Jonathan due to him not having a common goal and believes with DIO.

I think DIO went insane in part 3 because killing the Joestars was a goal he had for 100 years and while it became a side goal to attaining heaven it was still important to him and so he lost it for a bit after coming so close to achieving the goal he had for so long
Entirely unrelated but I came up with a way in which Dio could have survived Part 3. After Star Platinum's punch started ripping off his body, in an attempt to save his life, he stops time for a final time. However Jotaro isn't able to move, or see in this time stop as he had exhausted his limit after stopping time for the first time. Dio, just like in Part 1, chops his head, to prevent his brain from being blown to smithereens. This throws his head off a long distance. After Time starts moving again, it seemed as if his head blew up. But in reality, Dio's head survived and he was able to steal another body and managed to escape. However as he was incredibly weak, and the new host would not be as powerful as Jonathan, he would take a lot longer to recover, (explaining why we haven't seen him in parts 4-6.
@UCh2Ydzx9cMyLEczofg5VSxQ It would be a head, floating mid air, probably it's timestop would be shortened to a second or two, but it would still very much be there.
The reason Dio is like that in part 6 is because he respects Pucci and can have thoughtful conversation with him. He does NOT respect the Stardust Crusaders, which is why he does not talk like that to them.
Just discovered you and your many other jojo character analysis videos. These are AMAZING! Thank you so much for creating these, especially for Dio. Dio is such an interesting character to dissect.
Fun fact: Dio is shown or mentioned in every part Part 1: Villain Part 2: shown in a diagram, mentioned as Straizo's motivation Part 3: Villain Part 4: Mentions because of the Nijimuras Part 5: Giorno's picture Part 6: Flashbacks, also the green baby is kind of him Part 7: Alternate Dio Part 8: Chapter 99, a picture of someone holding up a stone mask to their face, possibly Dio.
Dio to me represent the sexy aspect of vampires, giving to and living off the living to survive, Dio gave people what they want but turn them into monsters in the process. You want to live forever, but your dead since you made the choice, can't live a fulfilling life without the sun.
Whoever your editor is, they have interesting choice in music. Whenever I hear any Metroid Prime music I go into flight or fight mode and suffer a headache afterwards. I heard Metroid Prime 3 Corruption - Bryyo, then I heard Twilight Princess - Stallorde, music from Curse of Darkness - A Tacata into Blood Soaked Darkness or another one of Curse of Darkness's music that sounds similar, I think more Legend of Zelda music, this one sounds very familiar.... maybe music from Asura's Wrath, and the music before the outro I don't know.

As much as I hate Dio's guts as both a character and villain, I will admit that his multiple designs (not a fan of the one with the green lips, though...) and English and Japanese voices are the best things he's brought in the series! Also, his Special Dual Heat mode in Eyes of Heaven with Giorno is just...too wholesome to ignore!
So wait if Dio is becoming kinder and more considerate does that mean he's just going to become a normal overpower kind and well thoughtful person. Because if so, that would be interesting and also nice.
I feel you can see the hints of how DIO is around Pucci when he talks about peace of mind when fucking with Polnareff on the stairway, he has a great speech that just invokes his whole Heaven Plan pretty well.
You definitely should do a “a many shades of Diego Brando” because when you look at it Dio and Diego have similarities yet have huge glaring differences, even when Diego is voiced he is voiced by the same VA as dio yet they sound different
When I first watched JoJo, I only really know that Dio is the antagonist of Parts 1 & 3 that Giorno is his son, and that he's somewhat involved in Stone Ocean's plot. I thought everything else was seperate from that story line. But now, that I've reached Part 4, I can see how it will always tie back to Dio Part 1 is his rise to power Part 2 is the aftermath of his endeavors with the Stone Mask Part 3 is his return Part 4 is the aftermath of his endeavors with the Stand Arrow Part 5 is his legacy and the epilogue of his fight with Jonathan Part 6 is his legacy and the epilogue of his fight with Jotaro Part 7 is the different paths he could've took Part 8... well there's nothing about that one that I know of yet (again, I'm still in Part 4). The fact that jotaro punched DIO formed full vampire powerful stand, and it exploded it basically overcame the world almost full power with one punch. It is just surprising that jotaro rage mode can get to that level of power.
Many people say that DIO’s character was retconned in Part 6, in the sense that he is more philosophical than showed in earlier parts but I disagree. In Part 3, Dio has had decades to think about how he will approach the world, his outlook on life itself and the like. During his fight with Polnareff, his monologue to him gave us more insight to his character. Quote: “Everyone survives in pursuit of peace of mind... Aren't you uneasy, preparing to fight me, knowing you may die? If you join me, I will give you peace of mind that will last forever.” So no, I don’t think that DIO’s character was changed completely, I believe Araki just put more emphasis on his outlook/philosophy in Part 6.
I like that even given Dio’s overwhelming evil, it is clear that he wants peace of mind, but that he thinks being a god is the only way to achieve that.
I genuinely don't know why people insist Dio is radically different in part 6. We do see him in an entirely different light, but thats cause hes in an entirely different situation. He has a big plan and needs people who are genuinely on his side and understand the gravity of that plan. Its not like hes just looking for random stand users to do his dirty work in this situation. Plus you can see him work together with Jonathan and sometimes treat him with respect in Phantom Blood. It's not lile he needs to be an absolute sadist every day in order to be Dio, hes more sophisticated than that.
I think Dio should have a time travel story where he reflects on himself and his actions, not becoming a good guy but maybe an anti-hero. I always though Dio and Giorno would have an interesting dynamic. Dio the son of an abusive father turned maniac vampire, scared he might become like his father and hurt one of his many children. I mean Dio’s family name and his current name are Italian, and Jojo made a point to say Italians have a strong bond, so I don’t know. Did you know Dio’s name translated to english means “God Sword” or “God’s Fiery Torch.” Dio meaning God and Brando either meaning Sword or Fiery Torch.
dio in every part he's in 1: HEHEHEHE I AM VERY EVIL 3: I AM STILL EVIL but slightly calmer 3.5: I'M FINALLY WINNING YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE- 6: I'm philosophical now also *g r a b i t y* 7: araki: what if dio was good? *and then diego was born*
Call it wishful thinking but there are moments I wished DIO would have met Holy or a person like Holy during part 3. Since Dio puts his mother on a high pedestal, perhaps Holy would have a slightly positive effect on him and if the cards were played right Jonathan's warning signal (AKA The Stands) would have ceased. Sure, it doesn't mean the Brandos and the Joestars will ever be on good terms but it would mean they would leave each other alone.

But isnt the world a represantation of dio's soul? Then dio wouldnt survive the hit from jotaro even if he did cut his own head off
part 6 are flashbacks tho... he wouldnt have needed to survive
@@therealdrdave cut the world's head off too lol
@UCh2Ydzx9cMyLEczofg5VSxQ It would be a head, floating mid air, probably it's timestop would be shortened to a second or two, but it would still very much be there.
Jotaro would still be able to see even if he can't move
I’ve had to admit I like Diego Brando better than DIO, but DIO is still an interesting character
Ahem*
@Kato or they just like Diego more? Diego, in my honest opinion, is better in almost every single aspect than original universe DIO.
@@dogstucc853 in my honest opinion Diego sucks in every way compared to original universe Dio
@@Crontonio Care to explain why?
@@profanepropane nope he doesn't probably doesn't have a reason
4:29 TBH dio is so handsome in this part
Pucci admired him for this
Can’t believe that this series started because a of a dead dog and a spooky mask that turns you into a vampire.
Dio certainly ain't insignificant, he cause all the events of the series.
I remember when I was new to jojo & I always thought Speedwagon & Dio were related coz I would always get them mixed up.
They are both good waifus 😉
The reason Dio is like that in part 6 is because he respects Pucci and can have thoughtful conversation with him. He does NOT respect the Stardust Crusaders, which is why he does not talk like that to them.
1:42 "this was Dio's reality."
You could say it was _Dio's World._
“Oh yeahhh… yeah, he’s off the deep end.”

Best part
Just discovered you and your many other jojo character analysis videos. These are AMAZING! Thank you so much for creating these, especially for Dio. Dio is such an interesting character to dissect.
Fun fact: Dio is shown or mentioned in every part
Part 1: Villain
Part 2: shown in a diagram, mentioned as Straizo's motivation
Part 3: Villain
Part 4: Mentions because of the Nijimuras
Part 5: Giorno's picture
Part 6: Flashbacks, also the green baby is kind of him
Part 7: Alternate Dio
Part 8: Chapter 99, a picture of someone holding up a stone mask to their face, possibly Dio.
Dio to me represent the sexy aspect of vampires, giving to and living off the living to survive, Dio gave people what they want but turn them into monsters in the process. You want to live forever, but your dead since you made the choice, can't live a fulfilling life without the sun.

When you have watched enough JoJo to recognize memes without any audio.
Dude, you are soo underated. You deserve much more than you get on UA-cam in terms of number of subscribers. Love you man
jotaro: *makes dio die*
dio: no i dont think i will
I love how dio starts off as an understandable villain then instantly becomes snidely whiplash
0:41 *_Dio palpatine. Bottom text._*
Lol
DIO is my favourite character because
1. He is a Vampire
2. he stole Johnathans body
3. He has 2 Stands
4. He Survived for 2 parts
That’s why
Dio's respect for Jonathan was bitter sweet at the end of phantom blood.Idk it speaks volumes
Part 1: Chaotic Evil
Part 2: Philosophist Neutral (and a deep diver)
Part 3: Chaotic Evil
Part 4: Dead
Part 5: Unintentional Good (giorno)
Part 6: Lawful Evil
Part 7: d i n o s a u r evil
It's funny to think that Dio could've actually been an ally of the Joestars if his father didn't set him down a dark path by being abusive
Ye
Then who would be the antagonist?
Then speed wagon would have been the antagonist only reason Jonathan befreinded him was because he went to get medicine for his dying father so they would have never met
prob kars (and the pillar men), because even though dio is good, it wouldn't effect the awakening of pillar men anyways. (they would wake up a little but later tho but still they will awaken sooner anyway)

DIO:I will end the the joestar bloodline
*meanwhile dio has a baby using Jonathan's body after stitching head his head onto Jonathan's body*
The many shades of DIO’s morphing lips.
5:55 Kaleb: what else does Dio have
Dio: "THERE ARE SPIDERS IN MY BRAIN"
Fun Fact:Every character that has a major part in more than 2 parts appears in part 3

Dio is just a broken, lost boy that needs his mother's love.
you thought it was DIO But It was me SPEEDWAGON!!!
A toccata into blood soaked darkness hitted hard.
loved the content as always.
When I first watched JoJo, I only really know that Dio is the antagonist of Parts 1 & 3 that Giorno is his son, and that he's somewhat involved in Stone Ocean's plot. I thought everything else was seperate from that story line. But now, that I've reached Part 4, I can see how it will always tie back to Dio
Part 1 is his rise to power
Part 2 is the aftermath of his endeavors with the Stone Mask
Part 3 is his return
Part 4 is the aftermath of his endeavors with the Stand Arrow
Part 5 is his legacy and the epilogue of his fight with Jonathan
Part 6 is his legacy and the epilogue of his fight with Jotaro
Part 7 is the different paths he could've took
Part 8... well there's nothing about that one that I know of yet (again, I'm still in Part 4). Though maybe this is the part where his influence is gone forever
Dio hates the joestar bloodline
He’s a joestar
His son is a joestar
He created more joestars
Joestar.
jotaro tried beying in every part like dio but ended up failing
only DIO can be mentioned in every part

DIO Over Heaven.
Semi Fun fact:
One of the only reasons DIO failed in part 3 (and taking longer to take jonathans body in p1) is due to him getting too cocky
The fact that jotaro punched DIO formed full vampire powerful stand, and it exploded it basically overcame the world almost full power with one punch. It is just surprising that jotaro rage mode can get to that level of power.
Imagine if Dio could stop time for an hour.
Pog video! I’ve never been this early. Keep the good work up
Many people say that DIO’s character was retconned in Part 6, in the sense that he is more philosophical than showed in earlier parts but I disagree.
If you join me, I will give you peace of mind that will last forever.”
So no, I don’t think that DIO’s character was changed completely, I believe Araki just put more emphasis on his outlook/philosophy in Part 6.
I can't wait to see part 6 animated.
dio is my favorite character in jojo, nobody can change that lol
I’ve followed you a week ago and all I’ve been doing since then is watching your JoJo content
Imagine if in P6 Pucci managed to revive Dio and the moment he gets revived you hear
JOTARO IVE COME TO SETTLE THE SCORE WITH YOU
imagine if u actually understood what puccis goal was
dio in every part he's in
1: HEHEHEHE I AM VERY EVIL
3: I AM STILL EVIL but slightly calmer
3.5: I'M FINALLY WINNING YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-
6: I'm philosophical now
also
*g r a b i t y*
7: araki: what if dio was good?
*and then diego was born*
Call it wishful thinking but there are moments I wished DIO would have met Holy or a person like Holy during part 3. Since Dio puts his mother on a high pedestal, perhaps Holy would have a slightly positive effect on him and if the cards were played right Jonathan's warning signal (AKA The Stands) would have ceased. Sure, it doesn't mean the Brandos and the Joestars will ever be on good terms but it would mean they would leave each other alone.
Imagine if Dio ran for President.
He'd have my vote. I don't need stimulus checks when I can ascend to heaven.
Watch this end up on netflix, DIO: The Documentary
Dio Brando; uses vampirism powers
