Matt Barlow is my favorite singer ever, but this is easily one of the most epic songs in the fucking business. It drives me crazy that Iced Earth never gets the love they deserve
And though our hearts are broken, we have to wipe the tears away, in vain HE did not suffer, 74 million strong have seized the day. The sun shines upon you John, and lights the way.
AaronQ1222 Most blokes gonna be playing at 9,000 all the way up,you're on 9,000 on your vocals, where can you go from there?Nowhere. What we do if we need that extra "push" over the cliff, you know what we do?We listen to iced earth. That puts it up to 10,000.
My oldest brother plays all of the soldiers in this video, including 3:27. \m/ He briefly showed it to me when it was released and then i shortly forgot about it. Then 1 year later when i was 14 i started listening to Iced Earth because of the comic Spawn and when i eventually reached this video i realised that this was the band he had shown me. I had never been so happy and proud in one moment! :D
This is such an awesome song. Ripper was a great choice for vocalist, and there are some seriously good songs from his time with the band. Barlow, however, will always be the voice of Iced Earth so I'm glad to see him back.
love this song doesn't matter if Ripper Barlow or Stu sings it ...... it would be amazing to see a ICED EARTH concert and have all three singers there singing together and supporting each others songs
Shi t. Bird Why do they have 27 ex-members? That doesn't sound good? I dig into Iced Earth since only a year ago, had 2 chances to see them but I missed it :(:(:(
megarockfreak They have been around awhile and have gradually replaced people. But it's one of those bands where there is one primary writer and he is Jon Schaffer and is on every release. Jon Scaffer IS Iced Earth.
I still listen to this album daily. Ripper has such a powerful voice. Especially on The Clouding. I was pissed off when Jon kicked him out. Don't get me wrong... I think Matt is also one hell of a vocalist. But Ripper had that power Iced Earth seemed to be missing. I enjoy listening to The Crucible of Man. But I always end up coming back to Framing Armageddon. Would have been amazing to invite Matt back in AND keep Ripper. High Water Mark, anyone? Ripper on that song was Epic, as well.
One of my top favorite songs by Iced Earth. Great Awesome song. Im so amazed by Tim RIPPER Owens vocals. He truly is one of my top favorite metal vocalists of all time. Iced Earth shall 4ever remain one of thee best heavy-power-melodic metal bands of all time.
Fuck the dislikes... Ripper is one of the best vocalists of the Heavy Metal.... He sings better than many other old heavy metal singers... It is a sahme that this guy is compared with Halford, Matt Barlow and Stu Block... he has his own style so fuck the comparisions
Actually his first band was a Judas Priest tribute. Thats why he became the Judas voice after Rob Halford. So a conparision is what he liked back In time
Honestly when i first listen to iced earth, i had a mix of songs so 10,000 strong was definitely one of them. I always thought while listening to them, 10,000 strong always seemed like the way iced earth was meant to sound like. But after hearing all the old stuff through and through, i cant see it any other way without John greely, matt barlow or even gene adam. Ripper will always have a special place as his era of iced earth. But i just love the old stuff so much more and nothing will replace that for me.
Saw them live with Barlow twice, and with Tim Owens and Stu Block. Did notice though, that in the later years, Jon is kinda phoning it in without much enthusiasm. Shame.
This is a message of peace and sanity. Please stop reading if you just want hate. I see all those people spreading hatred on the band and over-analysing things almost saying that if Jon had not stormed the capitol there wouldn't be dead people etc. Guys, first of all what Jon and every "Jon" who was there that day did was illegal and yes, they should be brought to justice for their actions because they breached the law. As simple as that. To those of you Iced Earth ex-hard-core fans who mix music and politics, if you actually have been "listening" to 'em lyrics, you should have seen that coming. Don't really see why people are so impressed. And to those of you who play the "good democratic samaritan", none of us really knows Jon more than between a meet-and-greet and listening to IE in spotify so do not assume you know his beliefs and jump to conclusions. Iced Earth is a kickass MUSIC band first, and we all love their music even if a band member did a very illegal move, he must be brought to justice for that and thats it, life goes on. Please stay safe all!
I _wish_ I could agree, but he's pretty clear about his beliefs. From his interview with Die Welt: "... A group of thugs and criminals hijacked this country a long time ago. Now they're making their big move, and it's not gonna happen. And that's what it is. These are globalists. These are the scum of the earth. These are the criminals that are behind all the fraudulent fee on currency, they're behind all the wars, they're behind all the shit, they're behind divide-and-conquer tactics, behind the racial divide. It's all nonsense, it's all garbage. People need to wake up and snap out of the matrix, because they're going down. They've made the move. They're messing with the wrong people here - trust me on that. And we needed it to be open like this - open fraud, open theft. Because now we see you, and you're going down. Mark my words."
I'm an old fan of the band but hadnt followed their work after the glorious burden. Yesterday I've listened to this masterpiece and it's on repeat since then ...counted already more than 200 times!
Dystopia is worth listening to. The signer was Stue Block, but the album was about pretty much all weave scene for the past 3 years. I fkg loved it 🤘🤘, and one of there last video was the song Black Flag, it's about pirates and its an incredible song imo.
My ex boyfriend used to have this set up as his ring tone. He was on the train once, with a guy next to him snoring in his sleep, so I kept calling him, and the scream in the beginning kept scaring the guy out of his sleep. :D
This song and video are what I call proof of my assertion that metal is nothing more than undiluted emotion. It's raw and in your face, but still has the feels that make it unique. Pity that so many people in metal these days go for the in your face but neglect the feels.
Man, I will never be able to comprehend Jon Schaffer's thought processes. Yeah, the guy is an awesome guitar player, but why in the hell did he get rid of Tim Owens?! Ripper's voice was what made The Glorious Burden and Framing Armageddon such towering power metal epics! I love Iced Earth, but after Ripper left it seems to me like they lost a lot of their power. :(
+Will Rogers Ripper was never intended to be a permanent member. He was still part of Judas Priest when this album was cut and he only stayed on when Rob Halford returned to Priest. Ripper left when Barlow asked Jon to bring him back into the band.

This video feels and looks so profound... and the audio is so befitting for the subliminal messages withstanding... what an amazing job this band has done... and yet so very underrated in my honest opinion
REALLY!!!!! SUPER bad ass song & video!!!!! Iced Earth are in my top 10 favorite METAL bands of all time (#6) to be exact, but a big fan of their music. In my opinion, that's tha way METAL SHOULD sound like...... in the style of Iced Earth's sound. They DID!!!! An ABSOFUCKINGLUTELY dam GOOD job on PLAGUES OF BABYLON. I was extremely curious? Is that Tim" Ripper" Owens singing in tha video? :):):)😎😎😎😈😈😈👺👺👺
I'm GLAD!!!!! I guessed right!!!!! Tim" Ripper" Owens REALLY DID a great job with Judas Priest on JUGULATOR & IS an awesome singer. I'd even be interested in WINTERS BANE. I briefly met Tim in 2002 When Anthrax opened for Judas Priest at Jannus Landing in St.Petersburg, FL. What a show. I also met Scott Ian & Charlie Bennatte of Anthrax, and inside tha bar in front of Jannus Landing (the pelican pub) I met Pete Sandoval drummer of legendary Florida death metal band Morbid Angel. :):):)😎😎😎😈😈😈👺👺👺
I like the part where he goes "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
Finally this vid made it past the 1 million views mark, Of course, it's not about how many views you receive but it's nice to see that many people getting into this band-at least the song by this band.
err.... guys...... this is Iced Earth, why is everybody bashing each other about liking or disliking a band? we metalheads like metal, rock, hardcore, etc, etc....... a lot of etceteras!! As long as it sounds heavy and as long as we like it; don't be closed-minded....... like Overkill said: united we stand! \m/ \m/
MANDELA EFFECT: I remember this video having a VERY different story. Pharaohs having the power of the pyramids and beaming it up at the end. Does anyone else have that memory?
everyone is always complaining over whats real metal and what isnt, really come on its 2011 now, who cares metal is metal sure it has changed, but thats why it is still around and why it has outlived a shitload of other music because it progresses whether it was for better or worse, just be glad its still around imagine if metal never existed. what would we all be stuck with
No offense to Matt or Stu, but Ripper was the best Iced Earth singer, in my opinion. That said, this is really the only good song off this album. I thought both Framing Armageddon and Crucible of Man were pretty bad.
I agree that I feel that ripper was the best (at least my favourite) but from what I've seen he didnt have a great stage presence. I've seen them Stu (both in person and on dvd) and I'll say hes a great middle ground. Where I found ther Matt and Tim struggled at times with each others material due to their different singing styles and ranges Stu knocks it out of the park for both.

Your'e so right. Metal has a definition, and most of the bands today simply don't have it, but ICED EARTH does.

There really are very VERY few songwriters in history at the level of Mr. Jon Schaffer.

John Lehrfeld Yes it is John. I agree, fabulous sounding band! sj~13 #Tim "Ripper" Owens
February 8th. , 2002 was tha date of the show I just posted before this post.

Epic Band.
This song was playing Jon’s head while storming the capital
I like the part where he goes "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
to short lol....
Wait what, I thought the Setians were like lizard people or something. Why do they look human?
vtheawesome Only Set Abominae looks like a monster, the rest are humanoids if im not mistaken
Finally this vid made it past the 1 million views mark,
Of course, it's not about how many views you receive but it's nice to see that many people getting into this band-at least the song by this band.
err.... guys...... this is Iced Earth, why is everybody bashing each other about liking or disliking a band? we metalheads like metal, rock, hardcore, etc, etc....... a lot of etceteras!!
Based
Whoever told Iced Earth this feature would be cool for the video lied
Mark Dellorto this video is AWESOME
Like Button was pressed only for hearing the intro. the rest of the song is then just more perfect.
everyone is always complaining over whats real metal and what isnt, really come on its 2011 now, who cares metal is metal sure it has changed, but thats why it is still around and why it has outlived a shitload of other music because it progresses whether it was for better or worse, just be glad its still around imagine if metal never existed. what would we all be stuck with
haters will say it's cgi
🤣🤣🤣👍🏻
It's called Rotoscoping.
I like tim ripper owens but i like Matt Barlow more
No offense to Matt or Stu, but Ripper was the best Iced Earth singer, in my opinion. That said, this is really the only good song off this album. I thought both Framing Armageddon and Crucible of Man were pretty bad.
badbirdkc Well, domino decree is a good one, so is framing armaggedon
I agree that I feel that ripper was the best (at least my favourite) but from what I've seen he didnt have a great stage presence. I've seen them Stu (both in person and on dvd) and I'll say hes a great middle ground. Where I found ther Matt and Tim struggled at times with each others material due to their different singing styles and ranges Stu knocks it out of the park for both.
Tim Owens has an amazing vocal range and this song shows that.
Tim owns this song !
This video aged like a fine milk
Jon was blasting this song along w/ 10k insurrectionists at the Capitol.
Muh insurrection! Fuck you're a retard
@@Megistrusyou sound butthurt he got punished by the same system he was fighting to protect cause he decided to raid it 😂
@@asdasd-rp9hx An unarmed insurrection? In the MOST armed nation in the world? What a funny concept....
""BREAKING NEWS !! Just in, Iced Earth Guitarist Jon Schaffer who is an admitted member of the write supremacist group the Oath Keepers is the
first Capitol insurrectionist to Plead Guilty in exchange for full cooperation in hopes of getting a reduced sentence.
