(1) Download the "Farbar Recovery Scan Tool"

(3) Click on Scan button and the scan will take a few minutes to generate the FRST.txt log file.
(4) Once completed, send the FRST.txt to my Gmail account ( myprocessinfo1@gmail.com ).

I used this successfully about a year ago, but now when I tried it, it didn't seem to help
I could find the malware files by searching for them in the registry (copy and paste from Chrome extensions) but when I tried to delete them, some of them would just pop up an error "unable to delete all specified values".
I discovered that the reason this process didn't work was because of those few files that I couldn't delete.
After a few hours of investigating, I discovered that the permissions were preventing me from deleting the files.
Fix this as follows: right click on the stubborn file, select "permissions" and then allow all permissions. You may have to go to advanced options in that permissions dialogue and delete the blocked permissions.
After I got the permissions fixed, it allowed me to delete the stubborn files. And then when I followed the steps in this video it once again fixed the problem!
When i search on google even tho i have it deleted it keeps appearing and opening bing

This still works, if the ChromeTool or Edgefix won’t run in safe mode make sure they are saved in your C: file on your pc, if ServiceApp or MicroApp aren’t there skip this step as these are malware and need to be deleted

@@VoidXLmake sure its actually saved to the computer, mine was installed onto onedrive, i just had to resave it into the c: disk and it worked fine after

When it gets to the temp files to be removed at 9:05, mine keep saying can't delete because the file is open in another program. I don't have anything open. How do I get around this??

same thing happened to me, what I did was just run the tool without using safe mode and it worked. was able to get rid of that stupid chrome extension

hi uh just tried to follow this tutorial i did everything up until 3:41 i put it in safe mode and restarted my pc and now i can’t log back in and it’s coming up with search for app in store and “you need to install app for this task would u like to search for one in store” I’ve pressed yes but nothing happens and now won’t let me sign in

I’ve gotten it disabled on my extensions but Can’t Remove it? It doesn’t work anymore but I still want to just delete it. ( copied the ID from the extension and found the folder and just deleted it )
when I hit Restart my PC didn't shut down or show anything instead all 3 screens went black nothing to worry about at first but it is like this now for hours. I turned it off just using the power button and after that removing power supply. Turned it on again but it does nothing the PC is running but the screens stay off what do i have to do?
Did everything now im letting MRT run, only thing is there was a logfile in temp that i couldnt remove it was an empty .txt, i left it there after trying to remove it and i couldnt find Serviceapp or the other one.
Ill let you know once MRT is over, if i dont it probably still worked

@@Marwelebg not yet, half way there after 3 hours 20 minutes, its scanning every file in the PC so its gonna take a long time
@@Marwelebg The scan has finished and it didnt find anything, also the weird extension is gone and im no longer in an organisation or whatever tf it said before, so it works just fine as long as you follow all the steps
btw when removing the extension folder becuase its pretty much impossible to tell which one is the malware and which one are your extensions, just remove them all, you can get them back pretty easily
Temp files will usually be safe + the serviceapp/microapp was a bad file, I'd you didn't have it you can just move on to the next step.
i only have 2 drives windows C: and cd drive D cant find any of these things in there
When I booted into safe mode they opened up Microsoft edge automatically
It worked. I found the unknown malware it had changed it's name I found 5 files deleted them problem solved thanks for the help 👍

Didn’t work for me. Get into safe mode and the .bat file won’t open - just doesn’t open when I run as an admin and says it cannot be found when trying to open normally

Same here. I skipped that step but got all the way to 9minutes in and the temp files that is mentioned to delete here can't be deleted and I see the freaking hijacker name in there. I guess I need the Geek Squad because in 2024 none of these old methods are working for the hijacker that I have.😩

I can’t find the file to delete. Well idk what I deleted but I went out of safe mode into google and it’s not there anymore so🤷♀️

My local file in app data doesn’t have any of those it just has Microsoft and temp
I found 6 APPX files. And i can't delete them in temp because they are running in another program
Update: the extension was removed permanently, and I got my laptop back to normal after scanning system32 and other files

My extension located at program data folder. It loads under " xAdFeed ". Please guide for this removal. I tried video steps. Not fixed
1) Please open the 'xAdFeed' folder and let me know the file names within the 'xAdFeed' folder.
2) Did you find the Apps.crx file inside the local folder?

The Chrome tool and EdgeFix file work only. Plus, I can't find any malware files in the folder in safe mode. These malware extensions are so hard to find to delete it 🙁
Just check preferences of an extension, in chrome you'll find location, from where it was installed
Try again in normal mode
Please research the hijacker called AstralQuantro - managed by your organization and figure out a fix for it. None of your steps helped when I got to the removing things in the temp folder. Five files kept saying it can't be removed because it's open in another window. Nothings opened at all. Also, at some point of me starting over and over, it just said I can't delete it. Not even going directly to the Registry Editor where there is an allow list and a extension force list. I see it there but cannot remove it. Can you help?
