I saw Guy live in concert a few nights ago, absolutely incredible. So awesome to see how far he's come and how he's evolved, while staying true to himself. Amazing talent and amazing human all in one.
My mum used to sing this song. She passed away exactly 5 years ago to the day that you reacted to this. Choking back tears.
I saw him in concert 3 days ago in Sydney and the previous Friday at Newcastle. After 20 years, so many ppl wouldn't believe that he gets better. But in reality, he does. He gets better and better and better. It's insane. He's so musically talented and gifted. Not to mention being a beautiful soul. Such a kind man. ❤️

Yes, I believe this song was telling us that he was going to climb every mountain to success, and that he has. This is why some Aussies don't make it to the mainstream US market, because they don't want to cowtow to ridiculous demands.
This happened to Barnesy too - he talks about how the American management wanted Chisel to be 'more like Loverboy...walk over here and point' stuff. That's of course where 'You Got Nothing I Want' comes from.

Same thing happened with silverchair. They had some success but Daniel john's was far to creative to bow down to producers and agents.

I just went to my 4th Guy Sebastian concert the other night! 😍 He did a different version of this when I first heard it live back in the early days after idol. His vibrato and his cadence… you cannot describe it, it is impressive that you’re just left speechless in awe…😌 🎤 🎶🎵
Oz Idol is always the best version. He belts it out. His new versions always sound like he holds back.

Much of Australia just watched the new Voice Australia auditions with Guy as a coach,there were some remarkable unique voices this season,perhaps COVID ended with a build up of probably the best season&when you consider our 25million population it's pretty impressive&you would like many, especially the very unusual ones
You know, I’ve met Guy a few times and he is the nicest person you’ll ever meet. He’s humble and down to earth. If you ever speak to him, he’ll treat and speak with you like you’ve been friends for years. Top bloke, man. I remember every performance of his when he was on Australian Idol and you better believe I voted for him. I spent AU$1000 voting for him in the grand final. Money well spent.

Here's a lesson to requesters to be specific on what version they want. Idol version was the winner here.
He is now a coach on The Voice Australia. You should check out his duet with one of his "students", Bella Taylor Smith...it will make you cry. 😊
This brother Chris Sebastian is also a singer, their voices are so different! But he won The Voice Australia a few years ago. He was an All-Star. There's a video with all of his performances. He was on Kelly Rowland's team. You should check it out!
This is why I love our Aussie artist because they aren’t affair to tell the record companies etc how it is and not sell their sole for the fame etc they just want to sing and entertain us and be themselves, as you have seen with all the reaction you have done with John Farnham Jimmy Branes, Guy Sebastian,Delta Goodrem, Vanessa Amorosi,Jessica Mauboy, Marcia Hines,Tina Arena, Daryl Braithwaite, etc etc our list is a long one..sad that the record companies etc think that sex and changing one’s appearance to suit what they think will sell instead of believing in the artist talent that well sell albums.. 🧐🇦🇺😊
