If you watch the GoPro play through of the guitar part on Mike’s page, it’s hilarious how much of what he’s playing is just fucking insane noise. Isolated, it’s confusing and bonkers - but in the context of the full song, it just absolutely works. They’re just nutty. Courtney is also a god.
The "new element to her tone" is the old element. This is pretty much how early Spiritbox sounded, scream-wise. You can even hear it on the Mara Effect songs.
It feels a lot more like their older stuff. I'm sure there are quite a few IWABO fans very happy to hear Courtney let loose again :) I love the mosh pits in Europe - they run as fast as they can in a huge circle and it looks so fun!
Haven’t watched the reaction yet but bursitis is not an old man’s thing but definitely hits anyone who lifts and I don’t know I think good chiro is good but I’m a physio guy. For the record I’m a GP so deal with this stuff a lot
I don’t think it was really a random song drop. They mentioned going into the studio earlier this year with Jordan Fish Ex-BMTH. I will say, I’m not sure if he actually did production on this one, but this song does sound a lot cleaner and smoother. I love it because it has iwrestledabearonce vibes
Personally I still think Tatiana from Jinjer is peak for female metal vocalists right now, but I'll always have a soft spot for Courtney from when I met her during her first gig in Sydney as the new lead of IWABO.
I just personally never compare the two when they're both in different genres of metal. It's like comparing black metal vocals to death metal. It's not a fair comparison.
Repetitive?! Maybe at first listen, but if you listen to this song multiple times, there's layers in the background you might not have heard/notice the first time or even the second time around
@@RipleyE-we1hjbands like Knocked Loose do considerably more in their purely heavy songs, and usually in less time. This sounds like if Thrown was fronted by Courtney and went a minute too long. I hear the title 7 times in 3 minutes and that's NOT repetitive? No levels to the screams, no dynamic in the vocals. And honestly.. if a person NEEDS to listen to a song three times for it not to sound bland as hell, that's an issue to me. It doesn't sound like he's playing anything interesting on the guitar, just the same basic ass shit he always does. Whether it's those (now) boring bendy riffs or this overly busy trash metal, this song comes across as a B-side for their first EP. Not interesting enough to be Holy Roller, not varied enough to be Belcarra, and not dynamic enough to be Circle With Me. It's heavy, which is why fans are praising it, particularly after a more melodic approach to their last offering. But that doesn't make it better. Or even good.
@@nolankuffner3573you guys really expect perfection from them. It's not like they gonna put our Holly Roller again and again. We need some detachment from that and let them do their thing
@@nolankuffner3573 "No levels to the screams, no dynamic in the vocals". Try again! Yes, majority she does on this song is screaming, but she also does the low a couple of times. It might not be enough, but it's there. Courtney (or Mike for that matter) is not trying to be the next deathcore band. As for criticizing Mike's guitar playing, I would love to see you releasing your own music. It's repetitive because it's called a chorus. Even so, musically there's a slight variation whenever the chorus comes in. Even the last chorus the music slows down.

Brilliant track like all Spiritbox!
The music video for this was released a few days ago and it’s fantastic
One of their best tracks. Fantastic live band too.
I loved that they showed their roots here. The mathcore solo. IWABO 🤘
Song slaps offensively hard
Can’t wait to see them in a month. Also, the new Future Palace album is very good.
Absolute banger for me
Old man metal with two Aussies
Banger of a tune 🔥 Awaiting your reaction to House of Protection’s new EP and track, Fuse. Loving it. Prodigy x Shikari vibes all over it 🕺🏿 💃
Sorry Johnny, I'm with Nath re: chiropractors. Loved this reaction though! Hard or soft, Spiritbox never disappoints.
love that crunch!
I feel like the tappy guitar part towards the end was a little nod to IWABO
interesting and provocative

Its not terrible but it does fall a little flat for me. A little repetitive.

Such an average song. Was expecting more
