Low key the drummer for spirit box is effing incredible, nobody ever talks about him. How he changes the beat so flawlessly and ties in all the base song tones is wild. The semi breakdown section of the song is entirely held together by his rhythm. I think everyone from spirit box is a major talent, but we never speak about the drumming enough.
He's awesome, fun fact though, Mike (guitarist) used to write the whole instrumentals for all the songs by himself, now Zev is a lot more involved but Mike still writes most of all of the music
Mike said he writes it and then sends it to Zev to put his tweeks on it and then go from there. Zev is definitely a prodigy. Just imagine how good he will be in 5 or 10 years.
More than anything, I am appreciating that this EP has variety. This and The Void can exist on the same EP and still both sound like Spiritbox. Every time they release something I am not quite sure what to expect. They aren't all my favorites, but I really respect the variety. That being said, I am honestly just a wee bit relieved that they haven't left the heavy heavies behind entirely. I understood that they seemed less interested in making the heavy stuff like the old days, and I respect them chasing what they're interested in instead of just making fans happy...but...BUT...I'm happy they still mix in some heavy songs too. This and Jaded are both so good.
I’ve been a Spirit ox fan since Bleach Bath and Belcarra and to me this song absolutely rrrrrrrrrrrrrips! I love that it will likely be the only song on the ep that’s THAT heavy. So good. So diverse.
I love that each single has had a different style of vocals! The Void was all clean vocals Jaded was Clean + Heavy vocals Cellar Door was all heavy vocals Excited for the EP in November!
The range of this band is that of legends. Not many bands out there that can have something for several different tastes on the same album, and still have seamless flow throughout. You want gorgeous melodic vocals? Have The Void. You want caveman oogabooga riffs where the chorus is heavier than most breakdowns? Here’s Cellar Door.
Mark my words, Zev Rose and Mario Duplantier will be to this generation's metalheads what Vinnie Paul and Danny Carey are to my generation of metalheads
This is my new favourite Spiritbox song, just hits different (is that controversial, I dont know haha?) They are my favourite band of all time, tied with Slipknot.
I loved the song, but Jaded and Hysteria are still peak Spiritbox. I reckon Cthulhu or at the very least The Kraken could be legit. I find it hard to believe that there's not something in the deep ocean we just haven't seen yet. Similarly, Space exploration still seems so fictional to me. I don't buy the Moon Landing and I know Nasa uses data to create the imagery, not actual photographs by capturing light. Space could have all kinds of Cosmic horrors out there. But the Christian-raised side of me isn't entirely convinced that's the case haha 😅
TBH Nath, Johnny, I'm not one for Podcasts or conspiracies but your open mindedness and not overzealous THIS IS HOW IT IS, WAKE UP SHEEPLES conversation about them... I'd totally listen to it. I was more interested in this than the song in the end 😂
I haven't really gotten into Spiritbox the way everyone else seems to - I don't get the hype! But this song got me good. I think it's one of the most interesting things they've done in a long time (alongside Rotoscope, but I didn't gel with that). Love the eeriness and atmosphere they've created. Musically brilliant. Love a good conspiracy! But man, I'm with Johnny here. We can't be the only ones in the entire universe! Congrats on your wedding again, Nath! Love that it was such a good time - you and Court deserve that 🥳
Great reaction can you guys please checkout Christian rock band RED surrogates and also can you guys please react to the new thornhill song viper room it’s a mixed bag on the song and people are hating it and loving it for me I like the song I gave a 3/5 I apologize for spamming the comment about request two artists I’ve been a huge RED fan since 2013 and thornhill fan since 2021.
Nath, I'm sure you already cleared this, but just in case you haven't.. Be careful with those Furore t-shirts. As someone from the automotive community, Ferrari are notorious for sending cease and desist letters to anyone who creates something that even remotely resembles their branding. They did it to Deadmau5 for changing his Ferrari badges to "Purrari" on his Nyan cat 458 Italia, claiming that it was an infringement on their trademark. Hopefully it's all been checked for legality already. Wouldn't want you to get sued because of those jackasses in suits at Ferrari going on a power trip.
As a fan of Spiritbox, I only found the off beat riff breakdown part of this track interesting. The rest is very meh for me, can't put my finger on why.
That really sucks cuz this song is bad ass af to me. I know what you mean cuz the way you feel I have about other songs but I’d hate to not like this one and find it mid 😂
It was the only bit of interesting musicality. The rest was just heavy for the sake of being heavy, which is fine, but melodic and/or groovy Spiritbox is my personal preference. Holy Roller is my favourite song for context.

Zev Rose is a fucking monster man i love him.
Yeah, this song especially. He's all over the place, such a chaotic energy, almost on the beat but never quite there. That's really difficult to nail.
He is and also such a nice guy. Got the pleasure of meeting him and courtney at Malta Weekender and they’re just so down to earth
He's awesome, fun fact though, Mike (guitarist) used to write the whole instrumentals for all the songs by himself, now Zev is a lot more involved but Mike still writes most of all of the music

If you notice, the ending of this song is a bridge to the intro of Jaded.
Cellar Door is the first track of the EP , followed by Jaded.
Oh I just noticed towards the end the crawling Courtney is reaching for the crimson key from the last video
I’ve been a Spirit ox fan since Bleach Bath and Belcarra and to me this song absolutely rrrrrrrrrrrrrips! I love that it will likely be the only song on the ep that’s THAT heavy. So good. So diverse.
This song is basically Belcarra pt.2
It isn't the only heavy song on the EP
Congrats on the wedding, Nath!
I love this song. Sometimes heavy for the sake of being heavy is just what I need. That breakdown is BRUUUUUTAL.
I love how the breakdown is just a brutal hardcore "fight me" riff. Sounds like something ORTHODOX would build a song around.
Congratulations Nath! I need like 3 minutes straight of that breakdown just to jump around and headbang, favorite part.
I love that each single has had a different style of vocals!
The Void was all clean vocals
Jaded was Clean + Heavy vocals
Cellar Door was all heavy vocals
Excited for the EP in November!

Congrats on the wedding Nath! That Cellar Door is HEAVY! Way to go Spiritbox!🤘🤘🤘
Nice to see johnny can still become a fireball it's been a minute
“Feeling hot hot hot” plays in the distance
literally had my stank face on for the entire song.
That chorus is what plays when the naruto sees hinata get killed by pain in front of him
I love Spiritbox, fantastic live last year in Bristol
This song told Holy Roller to hold its beer
Best Spiritbox song so far!
Shits so dark and heavy. Slowwwwww brings you into a hole of darkness. Love it.
For anyone wondering, this song transitions into Jaded. Go listen to this song and add Jaded to the queue
Song is sooooo good. Sooooo bruuuuutal!
This reminds me of Courtney's first band Unicron back in her college days. Give them a listen you won't be disappointed. If you want heavy.
You should check out phantoms. Underrated not know band
Congrats Nathan!.... Waiting on the Rain City Drive new single - Frozen reaction.
Sometimes Courtney and the boys just need to remind people….
Congrats Nath!
Mark my words, Zev Rose and Mario Duplantier will be to this generation's metalheads what Vinnie Paul and Danny Carey are to my generation of metalheads
Already are, in my opinion.
Side note: love your shirt Johnny!
Thank you!
sasquatches built the pyramids . it was a whole colony of sasquatches
This is my new favourite Spiritbox song, just hits different (is that controversial, I dont know haha?)
They are my favourite band of all time, tied with Slipknot.
Not easily their best, got the hardest breakdown too
They're one of my favorite bands also although I listen to a lot of 90s and early 2000s rock
What happened to the loch ness monster conspiracy? As for the song. So good, and different form the other 2 tracks so far, this EP will be sick.
Sunk loto's new tune boys
Love this new track! So heavy 🤘
As for favorite conspiracies - definitely flat earth 💯
Hope you guys check out the new crystal lake track as a second litmus test for the new vocalist
I loved the song, but Jaded and Hysteria are still peak Spiritbox.

Fuck yeah been waiting for this one 🔥
09:00 Wire?
The faster vocal sections give me some Arch Enemy vibes. Obviously not the whole song.

Nah hold up coke in a mug is criminal
333
Well that’s just a wee bit heavy isn’t it
Veil of Spiritbox

Yes please, Red rules, and Tell Me How To Say Goodbye is another banger. Rated R is top Red banger!
Wow definitely Love Red since I was a kid
Red is so good favorite album innocence and instinct
Absolutely agree, RED is super underrated! My favorite band of all time!
I've had a chance to listen to this a dozen times now and it's growing me. Still think I like Jaded better though.
I'm conservative, so I can't pick a favorite conspiracy because everything I believe in or talk about is a "conspiracy" nowadays! 😂😅
Nath, I'm sure you already cleared this, but just in case you haven't..

Thankyou!! This is a public free font, we have every right to use it!
TBH i clicked off to the side because of the intro but thanks anyway

So Spritbox went full Jinjer? They are still boring though.
what is this take?? 😭
