clinker I saw him open for Beth Hart just a few days ago. I had found Matt's music on UA-cam a while back and loved it ...so when I was at the Taft Theater for Beth, I didn't know Matt was the opener....talk about excited! I was thrilled that it was he whom I'd found on YT. And what a display of awesome talent. Beth Hart raved about Matt on her set too. Altogehter, it was one amazing show!

46 years old, I've "heard everything", I'm an acoustic musician and singer with a fortunate voice, and I've had my top 3 list for 25 years. I understand where people are coming from when they say "this is overdone". But you have to understand, this is a blues musician, doing a blues version cover of an amazing song. And he has one of the most powerful voices on planet earth. For him to understate his talent would be a travesty. This is exactly what a Matt Andersen fan wants to see when they see him perform. This is HIM. The Blues are passionate and emotional, and this is perfect in my opinion.

What a genius guitar player and what an increadible voice. One of my favorite versions of "Ain't no sunshine". I joined a Matt Anderson Concert in Berlin in 2019 and the show was sooooooo good! Thanks to Matt for sharing this with us.

I never had an experience like this before.
I have never seen or heard of this man in my life. But a mix of that dangerously precise guitar and that voice, he had me on edge throughout the whole thing I couldn't stop thinking he is going to f**k up any second either by stretching the guitar out too long or his voice but, to my astounding surprise, he didn't.
I have never had a piece of music keep me on the edge of my seat like this.
    Amazing.

If you look hard enough you’ll find my comments from 2 years ago, 1 year ago, 3 months ago, and yesterday. Why do I keep coming back you might ask? Well I’m just making sure it’s still the same great sound it was when I left it. And it never is. It’s always better.

I could listen to you sing your grocery list Matt...ohmygosh, the raw passion, range, purest pitch...mesmerizing. Thank you for your passion, and powerful playin'. Wow, human talent expressed so viscerally, so magnificently, and the delivery, primal in essence, touching in reality, touching the collective on every dimension...the control in that voice and on that instrument...mind boggling, so I'll just feel it and be satisfied and appreciative. Bravo.

I've had the pleasure and honour of watching Matt perform in Ottawa several times. I found him by accident and was raving about him to some of my friends from PEI who knew him well and they were really amused as how I was going nuts over a (then) rather known musician. Matt is a humble gentle tower of talent that still embodies what a true, true artist is. He's humble and shy to the point I wanna say "for fucks sake man, walk a bit taller" .... but I love him for what he is. I believe on the 7th day god took a break yes .... but he made this human.
I also believe he closes his eyes on stage because he actually plays for himself and gets so lost in each song, each time he sings it. His cover versions of songs like this and "I'm on fire" is amazing but he is also a poet when it comes to his own song writing. When he performs and is introducing a song, his take in very poetic yet funny and sometimes cheeky, which is really cool.
I have a family and am a professional, if not I would so have toured with Matt as a stage hand just to be able to hear him sing night after night (and maybe even jam sometimes) ...... and oh yeah .... I would SO smoke up next time I go to one of his concerts (and I don't even "smoke" that much).
P.S. - Matt's so big because you can't house as big a heart as he has in a smaller vessel.

I've never met him. I'm just now stumbling upon the 9th wonder of the world! I want to know why he isn't heard of! He left my jaw on the floor, and every hair on my body was standing on end! He probably has no clue that he is making people everywhere feel feelings they've never felt. Why is it that the musicians of this magnitude are rarely heard of? My God....he is PHENOMENAL!
